The new Apple TV+ comedy Shrinking, which just wrapped its first season, shares more than just a streaming platform with Ted Lasso. Both series are co-creations of Scrubs and Cougartown creator Bill Lawrence (in collaboration with two different starring Jasons, Segel and Sudeikis, respectively), and share a broadly similar comedic sensibility: good-natured and goofy, with a sentimental streak and fondness for large ensembles. Only one of them can boast Harrison Ford singing along to Sugar Ray, however.

And really, the two shows are pretty distinct once you dig into them, which is what Genevieve and Keith did in this look back on Shrinking's debut season and look-ahead at Ted Lasso's third, and possibly final, season. Does Shrinking have what it takes to grow into a Lasso-esque phenomenon? And can Lasso contain its narrative sprawl and stick the landing? In both cases, we don't know yet, but we're eager to find out.

Thanks for the Shrinking recommendation. I'll never tire of Harrison Ford and Jessica Williams giving each other shit.
