It’s okay though Serendipity would have saved me so I wasn’t too worried
I’ve realized the only thing that motivates me is fear of a deadline, thats the main reason I keep making Serendipity consistently is I don’t wanna let you guys down. I really want to finish Lethia this year so I think I’m gonna start promising a new “chapter” of that every month along with Serendipity. If I can do that then I might be able to finish it this year
That sounds good, but above all else, I really don’t want you to burn yourself out. Please pace yourself and remember to take care of yourself. Good luck with your comics!
I agree with Torterra, it’s cool that you’re motivated by deadlines and use them in a constructive way to get chapters out, but we don’t want you to get overwhelmed or burnt out doing what’s supposed to be your passion. I think I speak for a lot of us when I say we’re here for the long haul no matter what because we like your stuff that much!
I understand youre guys concern and I really appreciate it, I think I’m in a weird transitional period right now in my art and am on the verge of coming out of it a lot better than before. I still am very new to making comics and stuff - so I just want to figure out a better system for me to be able to make more art (not ‘content’). I really want to focus on finishing Lethia this year because I put a lot of effort into the script and it’s just been sitting in my google drive collecting dust for over a year now 😭 and I really like the story and characters for it so its such a shame I haven’t worked on it consistently despite wanting to (executive dysfuntion mostly)
If deadlines help you keep creating, I support you setting them for yourself - and I’m certainly not gonna complain about seeing more of your comics! If Serendipity is anything to go by you’ve got a real talent for emotional storytelling, and yours is one of the few comics I’ve read that does the phone-friendly vertically oriented style while also actually having good panel layout. If you’re feeling for yourself that your art is improving, then I’m really looking forward to seeing how your skill develops.
