Giltport Overview

Giltport is the largest harbour in the Sirendian Isles, and major hub for privateers, freebooters and buccaneers. Originally founded by Galdorian merchants as a trading post, the port was seized by pirates two hundred years ago. In the following centuries the city has grown into a thriving pirate republic known as a 'freeport', one of several throughout the western seas. Governed by the Council of Captains and their elected leader, Admiral Governor Horcis, a tiefling privateer.

The Floating Market

The Seven Marcs are a set of laws that govern the people of Giltport and it is as a direct result of one of these ordinances: The Sand Tithe, that the Floating Market exists at all.

Old hulks and obsolete ships have been lashed together across the harbour to form what amounts to a tax dodge! Pirates will go to great length to avoid paying import duties after all.

This map is seriously chaotic and would be a great setting for a truly mad combat encounter. It also contains several buildings including a tavern, a harbour master's office and a guild house. Plenty of place to explore for sure!

Possible Adventure Hooks

A Unusual Woman

The party are tasked with tracking down a she-elf, unusual enough in these parts but it is rumored that she is also a powerful magic user. She was last spotting in the Floating Market, the party should approach with caution.

An Audacious Arsonist

The harbour master in Giltport informs the party that a local captain with a grudge against the city has hatched a plan to burn the Floating Market to the ground in order to cripple its commerce. The arsonist is disguised as one of the vendors and the party must take them down and stop them.

Floating Thugs

A local gang has a stranglehold on the Floating Market, they are scaring away merchants and stifling commerce. The authorities hire the party to get rid of them.
