Freeport - Fifth Release: Captain's Folly Tavern (Patreon)
Content
There are few stories in the town of Giltport more well known, more repeated and more enjoyed than the tale of Captain Grumbeard. A bombastic old dwarf, prone to wild accretions and drunken wagers. Fancying himself the finest sailor in the Sirendian Isles, it was during a particularly intense drinking session that Grumbeard exclaimed his intention to 'Shoot the Chain!'
This being a particularly dangerous maneuver involving passing through the rocky entrance to the harbour at full sail, it was positively suicidal considering the storm that was blowing at the time.
Not to dissuaded by the weather, his intoxication or the pleading of his crew, Grumbeard set off alone in his ship, The Comely Wench, to win his bet. It was a surprise to no one when the gale drove the ship into the western cliffs, shattering it upon the rocks.
In honour of the mad, and now quite drowned, Captain Grumbeard, his crew savaged what they could of the wreck and turned it into a tavern. Even today, folks still come of miles around to lift a mug of ale and toast The Captain's Folly!
Hi all!
May I present the fifth release for this month theme: Freeport and yet another piece of our growing pirate city, Giltport.
The result of a drunken bet, bad weather and a need to turn everything into an opportunity for more drinking, I don't think you can get much more pirate-y than The Captain's Folly.
A tavern made out of an old shipwreck and a series of sandy caves, this is a battlemap that is screaming for a damn good brawl!

I haven't quite decided the lore of The Captain's Folly as of yet (except for its alcohol fueled origins of course) but I quite like the idea that Grumbeard's crew still run the place in this honour. Maybe the tavern keeper is an old and grizzled former cabin boy, the last remaining member of the original crew. What do you guys think?
As always your support is amazing so thank you for that and enjoy the maps :)
