We are off to a great start in the final (for now) Buffy Season! It really felt like a call back to the first season, for more reasons than one!

Having Sunnydale High back is amazing! I wish the old libarary was back, but you can't have everything! XD

I am already mega hyped for the season after that final scene! My brain definitely broke for a moment or two! XD

Hope you are well, lovelies!!

As always, if you click the video just after this post, you may need to  download it first.  This should be fixed in a couple of hours!

The Willow and Giles scenes were in fact filmed in England, at Anthony Stewart Head’s own place to be precise.

K.I.T.T. from Knight Rider

The way you were going, I was fully expecting "My favourite character from series 6 is...Calendar." XD EDIT: OK, I had NO idea you were going to mention her later on XD

Maia Brodsky

What is a dracarian? You must've missed the 'Westbury, England,' subtitle at the start of the first scene after the intro. The England scenes are filmed in England, at Anthony's property. That was also his horse. Hostile number 17 was what the Initiative called Spike in season 4, so it makes sense for the incarnation of Adam to address him that way. Wesley was never the school librarian. He was there as a Watcher after Giles lost THAT job, but Giles was still the school librarian. 'Tabula Rasa' not inspiring any memories is suitably ironic. Agree though, great episode. Definitely worth a rewatch. Very much looking forward to seeing your reactions to this season!

Perhaps keep that Calendar in Angel's head episode in mind for Spike's situation 🤔 and also, worth considering what all the people we saw in the room with Spike had in common from that final scene 🤔🤔😂 no spoilers! Hope you're having a great spooky season so far and definitely looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the twists and turns we take this time round 😂💜

VeggieGamer

Thanks for the info, Maia! I definitely missed the location subs, sorry!

D.B. Woodside, who plays the principal here, is awesome! I loved him in Lucifer, played literally my favorite character of that series. It took me awhile to realize where I had seen him before, LOL, in Buffy way before Lucifer.

JosieMorita

My reaction was the opposite. I saw him in Lucifer and thought: "That's Principal Wood! He hasn't aged a day!" Another reactor had seen Lucifer first and calls him Principal Amenadiel.

That ending scene is just incredible, gives me chills every single time! You made a note of Halfrek's line, when she was praising what a great vengeance demon Anya used to be, "Do I have to mention Mrs. Czolgosz?" This is the second half of a historical reference joke THREE SEASONS in the making! Back in season 4, "Superstar," when Anya was describing being a vengeance demon she said, "I'd wish he was a dog, or ugly, or in love with President McKinley or something." President William McKinley was assassinated in 1901... by Leon Czolgosz! And it was apparently because of a vengeance wish Anyanka granted! (For a Canadian, I know a surprising amount about this topic, largely because of the Stephen Sondheim musical "Assassins", LOL Although Sondheim left out Anya's involvement! ;) ) I love Buffy being back at the school. It ties back to the Class Protector speech for me--old Sunnydale High was doomed the moment Jonathan said "The graduating class of 1999 has the lowest mortality rate in Sunnydale high history!" Because what is the class of 2000 supposed to do?! Good luck, kids, the Slayer's going to college, you're on your own? She can't walk away from a school full of children sitting directly on top of a Hellmouth. The old high school HAD to be shut down one way or another for Buffy to be able to leave, and Buffy HAS to be there now that the new school has opened :)

Wood is probably my favorite new character to be introduced this season!

Love this episode, the final sequence is great, but I do wish they had been able to get some more memorable characters back to play the zombie-ghosts. Maybe they spent a lot of their actor budget bringing back Warren / Glory / Adam / Dru / the Mayor / the Master's actors for that one scene, though. I don't think I've re-watched s7 since the original airing. A lot was going on in my real life at that time, too, so I didn't even watch it that closely, so most of this will feel relatively new to me -- looking forward to it! Once you've finished the entire 5 seasons of Angel, and had a chance to sit with it for a bit, I do think you might have more of a... fondness for season 3 (not sure if "fondness" is even the word I want to use here). Not that you didn't enjoy it, but I just think it might take on a different dimension for you at that point. I wish I could think of a better way to say that without spoiling anything but I just can't 😄

I've heard tell that the Farm Giles and Willow are on is actually Anthony Heads personal home

Garry (Not Jerry)

My favourite character from Buffy season 6 is Drusilla…😐 You should go back and watch the scenes with Spike in the cave at end of the previous season again. I think it’s pretty clear that spike knew what he was doing
