Hi guys! So here is a movie I have been inching to see, but hasn't been an option on the polls. I hope you are ok with this! I promise we WILL get back to the polls soon (though I do plan on sneaking another one in very soon, if that is ok with you all)!

I love me some Batman, and have grown to love Superman too, but don't have the biggest knowledge. But hot damn... the joy and hope in this movie was an fantastic to see! Both Lois and Clark are top level in my opinion, and we also meet a bunch of characters I am unfamiliar with!

Lex was excellent, Crypto is adorable, the music was inspirational, and I must admit... I LOVE this version of a 'child-like hope' of Superman. So, so good!

Also, Who is Mr Terrific and how do I become him?

I really hope you enjoy the reaction, guys! I promise we will be back to the polls soon!

This again is a No Sync required reaction, as we are using Streamable! Please give me any feedback on how it is working out, as these are new to me! Streamable is a subscription service, so if you like you can always increase your pledge to help support them. BUT - Please do NOT feel the need to do so, I keep the minimum $1 for a reason!

Ooh yes what a nice surprise!! I’ve never been the biggest DC fan but this movie turned me into one. Can’t wait to watch your reaction 🤩

Steven

Ohhh this makes a lot more sense than league of super pets 😅 also thought it might have been the Underdog movie but that would have been a strange reaction. And don’t apologise for putting out unexpected reactions! If theres any movies you personally want to check out, go ahead!

Alex Hopps

Yay, I got it right, haven't seen this one yet though, I hope the next one is The Batman, but I am curious to see what it is regardless

Stephen Hert

I loved this one!!!!! what a nice surprise!

PumpkinSparks

Oh, League of Superpets is a way better guess! I was only able to come up with Paw Patrol, which I was 98% sure was not the right answer...

This film is so much fun! Even as someone who enjoys the Snyder films more than most, this has such an infectious positivity that I love ❤️ Definitely recommend the 2022 Batman! Though it's not connected to this universe, it's a great film, and as well as the sequel, there's also a series that's set between the two called "The Penguin" which is absolutely phenomenal and a must-watch. I think the next movie from this universe is Supergirl - I'm pretty sure it comes out next year? I'm excited because I loved the actress who plays her (Milly Alcock) in House of the Dragon This was a lot of fun rewatching this, thanks Veggie!

Its 3am, ive laughed, ive cried, ive had such a good time watching this again despite being completely done with the whole superhero genre for several years. I'll avoid writing a full on essay about punk rock and my interpretation of those aspects of this movie. I feel like i could do a good 15 min rant All ill say is, it's quite cool how they weaved in some modern politics with their fake isreal and Palestine conflict. Wasn't exactly subtle but i liked it being there

Ziro the Hutt

After just coming off watching Children of Men, I could do with rewatching this with you Veggie! Hope you found it fun!

CR Ash

To explain Veggie, Peacemaker and the Suicide Squad did happen in this new universe but some things are different They handwave it away in Peacemaker season 2 but basically, the same events happended in both universes Also I cannot and I mean i CANNOT recommend the Batman 2022 more, its simply amazing but its not the Batman that will be in the DCU, The Batman is its own self contained universe, DCU Batman is coming later in a movie called Brave and the Bold

This is a great movie, I can feel the Smallville influence on this film and thats awesome because Smallville is the first piece of media I got heavily invested in, and it was my intro to Superman mythology. If you have not watched Smallville I definitely recommend it Veggie. Recent movies had lost the core essence of the character so I was thrilled watching this one.

So I did watch this after Children of Men, and I needed it! Glad you enjoyed it as much as most of us did. I'm with you Veggie, more of a Batman fan for multiple reasons, and I was as ignorant as you were towards Superman because he's practically invulnerable (and immortal, though apparently Kara Zor-El aka Supergirl, is supposed to be more powerful). Its missing the point though with his character; he is a beacon for humanity, to try and help push us on, an inspiration to be better, and boy we need that in these ignorant and greedy times. And this Superman gets the tone perfectly, David Corenswet is almost as good as Christopher Reeve in the role and I can't wait to see him in more Superman's. They are doing the Supergirl film next I believe, hence her introduction here, and the script has already been done for a sequel to this as well. And speaking of Batman, they are due to start filming another Batman with Robert Pattinson soon in the new year; though I'm not sure the tone of that Batman will fit with him being a mate of Superman, especially this one; he'd fit the Henry Cavill Superman better I reckon, though I never watched them.

Lena

I second this!!

While the Ultraman in this movie is never officially stated to be Bizarro, he otherwise pretty much is, and I know at least one other version of Bizarro (from Superman the Animated Series) where he has pretty much this exact origin, being an imperfect clone of Superman created by Lex Luthor. However, I think they called him Ultraman (who is another DC character, albeit a rather different one) in this movie to make the twist that he's a Superman clone not be too obvious.

Methanoutput

Watched this one with my girlfriend in the cinema! Love, that i can watch it with you again!

PumpkinSparks

Not gonna lie, I never cared for Superman and had no intentions of watching this movie. But decided to give this a go tonight. Surprisingly I actually liked this! I mean James Gunn tends to make good movies, and the skript was solid. But what knocked it out of the park was the acting! Nicholas Hoult is always amazing, it's always fun when sweethearts like Nathan Fillion play asshats, the chemistry between Clark and Lois was banger, Mr Terrific was an unexpected surprise, Alan Tudyk is always a treat... It really was a surprisingly enjoyable movie. Will I watch it again? Nah! But thank you for making me watch it :)
