Hi guys! Here is the FIRST of this year's Christmas Reactions, and we go all the way back to 1966!

Thank you all so much for the feedback on if I should watch this or the full length movie first. It seemed more people thought it best to cover the original first, so I decided to risk it for a Christmas biscuit! :)

Absolutely LOVED the animation here (I may say that... a lot XD). But my word, I felt sorry for Max! XD I am guessing he isn't treated as bad in the other versions (if he is even in it, we will see)!

I'll now start work on the Movie version reaction and endeavor to at LEAST get it to you for the big day! :)

Love you, guys!! :)

SO excited to watch this! Thank you Veggie!

the thing about max; the grinch gets all of his stuff from the trash, so that means someone threw out a puppy 🥺

sorry one more comment! the cat in the hat (live action), the lorax, and horton hears a who (both animated) are a couple of other dr. seuss movies! all of them are really good, the lorax is probably my favorite out of those three.

Three amazing movies! And with each iteration, there's less and less animal cruelty, the 2018 being the gentlest 🙂 The newest movie is my favorite. It makes me laugh the most and is the most heartwarming to me. In no small part because of my sensitivity towards poor treatment of animals. It's not without stressful elements, but it is the kindest.

I got kinda bored watching the 2018 version, but it was good. I will say I like the Jim Carrey version the best though.

Happy Christmas Veggie!

A timeless classic, which is no surprise when you consider it involves Dr. Seuss, Chuck Jones, Boris Karloff and Thurl Ravencroft. Fun Fact: The Grinch’s Singing voice was done by Thurl Ravencroft who also did the singing voices for the Orcs and Goblins in Rankin and Bass’ animated The Hobbit and Return of the King movies. Also, in a sad bit of irony, the anti-commercialism/consumerism message has been kind of lost here State side as we now have Walmart Commercials using the Grinch to promote their Holiday Sales.

I love the 2018 version too!

The lorax is my favorite dr suess story, I like original more than the remake but the remake isn't awful, just something more simple about the classics, like this one its my favorite, I watch it every year, they follow the books pretty much exactly, the remakes add a lot more to the story to make it longer, so it is interesting.

Yes stockings and candy canes are a staple in most homes here for christmas. I hate peppermint so I usually get some candy flavored candy canes like Starburst or skittles flavors or something. Great reaction as usual looking forward to the live action.

Cari Ann

OK last comment lol, there is another whoville dr suess movie called Horton hears a who, hes an elephant who can hear the who's down in whoville they are very small on a flower.

Cari Ann

I bet veggie will also like the Lorax the best too.

Not seem this in 25 years, i enjoyed it, but to quote dave chappelle "Jim Carrey is talented in a way that you can't practice or rehearse. What a God-given talent"

Also, my heart grew three sizes at Christmas once and it was not a positive experience

Not to dox myself or anything but fun fact: I actually live in the town that Dr Seuss based Whoville on! There is a real mountain (not quite as dramatically tall and Shaped as Mt Crumpet) called Mt Tom and the town as a whole is pretty quaint and cute, though obviously it's changed a lot since the book was written lol. And my friend who grew up here has a really big family that's been in the town for generations so we say that she's basically a Who! Which is all to say that while it may not be my #1 Christmas movie, the grinch does have a special place in my heart and I'm glad you enjoyed it!

I remember watching this every Christmas as a very young child before Jim Carrey’s version came out. It still holds up! Boris Karloff is a horror movie legend btw, best known for playing in the classic Universal Monster movie as Frankenstein’s monster😊

I bet you would really like the Lorax!! But I do recommend the original over the remake! I feel like you would adore the Barbaloots in that story! There’s also a documentary type movie that came out when I was a kid, and last I knew it was on YouTube, it’s called In Search of Dr. Seuss, and it has so many cameos! Patrick Stewart, Robin Williams, Kathy Najimy, Christopher Lloyd and a bunch more! But it’s a kid friendly approach to his life’s story mixed with celebrities looking like the characters and animations of a lot of the books!

Nice reaction! I've now watched this for the first time as well (with your video) and indeed a lovely, charming christmas short! Before I've only watched the Jim Carrey movie and its one of my favourite chistmas movies. Gonna watch your reaction on that next. Also if I may suggest, speaking of old christmas animation traditions on christmas morning, Mauri Kunnas's Joulupukki ja Noitarumpu (Santa Claus and the witch drum) its a 1996 made Finnish christmas movie and an absolute must watch every christmas classic here! The animation is incredible charming and the story funny and simple and only like 50 minutes or so long. It's based on a book by Mauri Kunnas who's a classic childrens books author here and I bet you would really like the movie!

If you loved Max in this, you will absolutely love the 2018 The Grinch. I think that one is my favorite. I really hope i get to see you react to that one. Merry Christmas Veggie!
