SPOILER ALERT! - If you have not watched the show before, don't read the following review until you have! :)

My soul NEEDED THIS ONE!!

Absolutely loved the change in pace after the last episode. Absolutely brilliant world building and explanation of each Bending class.

... There is no way Sokka is going Veggie. XD

Hope you had a great week, guys!!

As an earth bending lover myself I was really excited about this episode! Glad you can appreciate just how genius the worldbuilding is

This episode is peak world building! We learn so much about the different philosophies of the different bending styles and how that informed the different ways of thinking and living of nations - but they did it in a way that felt very organic and not the typical "character basically looking at the camera and monologing to the audience" Irohs understanding of the different bending styles and incorporating it into fire bending is so freaking awesome! For one, I absolutely agree with his philosophy. But it also makes me wonder in what other ways you could combine the different styles and what that would create.

This show is so amazing, it just gets better and better. You better not stop watching this show if they don't resolve cliffhangers right away lol, luckily this one was and we really needed it, iroh is so needed for zuko right now. I love his quotes "somehow thats not so surprising" and "no, shes crazy and she needs to go down" and of course his whole breakdown of the different benders.

I’m loving this show waaaay more than I thought I would. It’s nice to watch it along with you, Veggie!

Logical Dreamer

I've seen this show many times, but only just realized, watching it with you, that both Aang and Zuko are learning from their opposites. One more parallel between them, I love this show.

Thinking of all the characters in The Last Air Bender and Legend of Korrah, I would probably play as Toph first. Unless they put in Koh the Facestealer that is, because I love monsters in Fighting Games. And Azula was 100% trying to murder Iroh. She’s Daddy’s Little Monster and as Iroh said, CRAZY.

thanks for blessing this sunday with an avatar reaction

One of us, one of us, ONE OF US! Seriously though: It's great to hear, that you're enjoying watching along.😊

Im not sure if you noticed this but at the very end Zuko sheds a tear. It appears he's only able to cry out of his healthy eye though because his scarred eye shows no sign of a tear.

Hey Veggie, loved your reaction to this episode. Definitely a major milestone for both Aang and Zuko. Not sure if you recall, but we saw Iroh use the redirection of lightning twice before this episode explains how. The first time was on Zuko's boat during "The Storm" and the second time was in the first episode of the second book, when Azula was trying to capture Zuko and Iroh by lying. Iroh has mastered this technique and isn't shown to have any issue controlling it or letting it pass through his heart. Auzula's fire attack against him is a huge show of her skill as a cold, calculating, strategist. From a young age she was able to use others emotions against them. Mai's crush on Zuko and Zuko's insecurity are good examples shown. But anyway, hope you enjoyed and looking forward to the next one. Take care, my dude.

About your comment on Azula's elderly advisors, saying that she was losing the element of surprise, according to the DVD commentary for the last episode, they were the ones driving that big tank vehicle, so I guess they went against their own advice!

Such a great episode as usual from this show, enlightening while keeping it's signature humour. Iroh's wisdom in this about shame/pride/humility and learning from multiple different sources has stuck with me for ages. Can't wait to be him when I get older. I probably won't play the fighting game but if I did Iroh would be one of my mains; probably along with Aang, Sokka, Toph, Ty Lee and the Cabbage Merchant Also the word Sifu (or Shifu) translates from Chinese to English as 'Master' which you can see in the credits with Sifu Kisu and Sifu Manuel Rodriguez. Also, that means in the Kung Fu Panda franchise, one of the main characters is called Master Master
