I think something else worth considering with the whole Angel snacking on the dead guy thing is that human blood is quite addictive for him, which goes with the parallel to alcoholism the show has been going with. Loved the reaction, Veggie! Thanks so much!

This is possibly my all-time favorite Angel episode, so I'm very glad you enjoyed it also! In addition to corny flashbacks, Barry Manilow's "Mandy", and a whacked out Angelus v Angel fight scene, we also get Angel reminding Faith about the main ethos of the show -- don't stop fighting for yourself and for the good you can do in the world. Faith and Willow, unlikely allies but they got the job done. It does feel like a finale, but don't worry, there's still plenty of craziness left in this season!

Great episode! The woman who played the 1920s flapper whose puppy Angel rescued, also played a significant role in the last couple seasons of Xena. It’s really weird seeing her all glammed up 1920s style, after being so used to her as an ancient Greek (well, more Roman in her character’s case) warrior! Willow’s second comment to Connor always cracks me up SO hard, “And the sneer’s genetic, who knew.” Lorne is SUCH a sweetheart in this episode, I love how incredibly caring he is with comatose Faith, especially after he’s known her for all of a day. I feel like seeing more of Angel's journey in the years after he got his soul back gives us some insight into where Spike is currently at. It took AGES for Angel to figure out who he was, and that journey included periods of clinging to his old identity (remember he even went back to Darla and tried to live his normal vampire life despite the soul), periods of extreme isolation, moments of desperation and making mistakes.... Spike doesn't seem so different with a soul because he's clinging to what he knows, edgy sarcastic Spike is what he knows how to be. It would be really fascinating to see where Spike is at like 50 years later! Would he even still be calling himself Spike or would he have taken a new name like Angel did? :)

The bedding is quite crap, isn't it? XD Then again, the hotel was abandoned (?) for however long before Angel/Wesley Investigations moved in, so the furniture/upholstery is likely all very antiquated. I think they have bigger things to do than a trip to Dunelm Mill for new sheets XD
