Hi guys! Here is the latest winner of the Movie Poll! Thank you so much for voting, and don't stop now! The same poll is still active for other top picks to be covered! :)What a Birthday treat! I expected this to be funny, but I definitely didn't expect it to hit the feels or quite frankly be as scary as it was in places! XDWHAT a villain! And the soundtrack, yet again, is all new to me, but I absolutely loved it!

Just a heads up, the YT Edits for this and Ever After WILL be coming to Youtube, but I am doing my best to avoid doing to personal suggestion ones back to back. So expect them when I can finally get them together! :)Love you, guys! Hope you are having a wonderful week!

I'm very happy with animated movies btw but maybe you should do a movie poll without any animation next time if people are missing other type of movies

Rey's Got Plans

A vey happy birthday to you Veggie! 🎉

So exicted for this one! Been really into a classic Disney and Ghibli binge recently, as you do 😊

Katie

Yay! Love this movie. I remember seeing it at the cinema and I've seen it many times since 😁

Katie

Happy Birthday Veggie! Mine is in 9 days from now, we're birthday neighbors! Hope it's a fabulous day for you and that you are reminded how loved and valued you are. We over here on Patreon certainly love and value you a whole whole lot. Just for being you. :)

Bram

Very happy birthday Veggie! I don't know if I've sent the chat correctly. I use Patreon exclusively for the book club.

VeggieGamer

Hi Bram! Yeah I got your DM this morning, so you did it right! :) I am just slow to reply to those, but I really appreciate it! :)

Caroline

Omg, happy birthday, Veggie! 😁 The soundtrack in this is great. They actually made it into a musical two years ago. I was actually a bit surprised that you knew "Zero to hero" but you hadn't heard "Go the Distance" by Michael Bolton before. It was a huge hit in the 90s, normally this is the song that people recognize immediately. Love those movie reactions. Can't wait for you to discover more. Although I must say, I really miss the gaming livestreams. 🫶🏼I also plan to comment on the book club again soon. I've missed this community and the channel, but I've had a lot going on lately and just need to find the time.

VeggieGamer

I hope everything is ok, Caroline! And yet, I do want to work towards getting back to streaming!

Happy birthday!😃 This is a great movie and deffinetly has some of the best disney songs.

Hilary Rose

Happy Birthday, Veggie! 🎉 When Pain and Panic disguised as kids say “Call IXII!” They are yelling “Call 911!” except in Roman numerals. That’s the emergency line in North America 😊

Caroline

yes, everything ok :) just moved and started a new job etc..

Happy Birthday Veggie! I believe the Muse at the beginning said that the narrator was 'making it sound like a tragedy', rather than saying it was one. Which, the actual myth of Hercules absolutely is tragic, but this is Disney, so they didn't exactly stick with the darker parts of the story 🤣 For example, Hercules is not a full fledged god, he's a son of Zeus and a mortal woman, making him a demigod. But we can't have adultery in our Disney movies 🤣 Hera acting like his loving mother is mildly hilarious, honestly. Also, the whole concept of Hades as a villain who wants to take over Olympus is basically the result of Christian world assuming he's the Greek version of Satan. But I'm not complaining, he makes a fantastic Disney villain, and this is obviously a fun movie, just maybe not the best place to learn much actual mythology 🤣

Happy birthday veggie! I absolutely loved this movie growing up and got super into Greek mythology for a while, Disney honestly butchered the tale of Hercules, but they did it in a way that was incredible to watch and I still appreciate it for sparking my curiosity with the mythology, megs I wont say I am in love is my favorite song from this and Hades is my favorite character. "Real" Hercules is Zues' son with a mortal woman and Hera hated him (zues' wife), so she was actually the villain of his story instead of hades.

Happy Birthday Veggie. 1.) IXII is Roman Numerals for 911 2.) Zazu did say Scar would make a pretty nice rug to Mufasa at the beginning of the movie in The Lion King. 3.) My favorite song from this movie would be,I Won’t say I’m in Love by Meg.

0:11 HELL YEA! 1:04 Hi veggie *waves backs* im a fellow animation lover x3 1:24 if you mean story as in a novel "Origin novel" or something no. his "story" is Greek mythology! also connected to cosmology/astronomy. 1:32 in mythology.. rather then THE son he is A son, as Zeus technically fked everyone of every generation (his elders, his peers his juniors...) 1:35 one ur dong with buffy and angel, if ur interested in more Hercules-stuff, i recommend checking out Hercules (series) and Xena (series), they are 2 independent series that have cross over in the middle where both MC share the same episodes, very cool! (so it should be watched parallel) 1:51 nope not the devil!! can't spell devil without evil!, but Hades is not evil, he is just the god of the underworld (he has to ferry souls to the after life), unless you consider death an absolute evil and the after life an absolute evil, he is not evil, he just dos his job same way a an undertaker does his job too without being evil.... 2:42 yes it's def. a disney-story, not actual mythology (for that is not kid friendly) 3:20 you MIGHT actually know the main/theme song which the credits (non character version) is performed by Michael Bolton 3:36 ooh! happy hatching day! i wish you a healtyh and joyful coming new year! 10:39 i love this part of the song most! where it directly transitions into the ost/theme song! its amazing! x3 10:51 exactly! 11:19 Pegasus is the NAME of that winged horse. but because it was the ONLY winged horse (unique creature) in modern use of the word, it became synonymous with the species, aka Pegasus == winged horses 13:00 i always loved baby pegasus as a kid so much! in my disney coloring book, the only thing i would ever colors is baby pegasus and baby simba! 13:34 frolo (notre dame) and hades are prolly my most favorite disney villain. but Hades is def. the most FUN villain, and even one of the most fun character generally imho in all of 2d disney 14:56 yes, cerberus is the gatekeeper to the underworld! 22:02 thats what they just sang about! "when they found him it was too late, for he had turned mortal now" 26:15 and here comes THE song of hercules~ it always makes me tear up QAQ it touching my heart strings T^T but i love singing along, so i end up cry-singing XD 33:38 it is indeed! 45:34 i like how he calls her in german, he calls her "my little chicken Mag Nugget" (yes chicken and nugget as english words) 1:05:46 yes there is a romance themed one, my fav. to sing! "I wont say im in love" very fun to sing 1:06:52 i mean its functionally an exile, the japanese mythology for example has the same "problem" the god of the underworld is effectively exiled, so makes ppl stay in the underworld through various means (essentially imprisoning them) 1:33:02 fun fact in mythology the titans are technically speaking from Zeus parents generation eg parents, aunts and uncles etc of zeus hades and poseidon~ 1:50:24 you mean the famous Hydra? x: its always baffling to me if ppl dont know the most famous mythological creatures XD (like for example ive seen a lot of ppl, who didnt know that a centaur is a centaur) and i just always thought these were common knowledge x:

Happy birthday veggie!!

James McCarthy

Woo my favourite disney film (: Glad you enjoyed it is fabulous the animation alone is gorgeous i love the style of everything

James McCarthy

The only part of this film that used to annoy me was the ending since Hercules cheats since Hades' deal was "you get her out she goes, you stay" so Hercules leaving broke the deal However they never shake on the end deal Hades was too eager and did not bind the deal so Hercules can just leave without consequences (:

James McCarthy

There was no sequel to this film but there was an animated series. I love greek/roman/egyptian mythology and it is worth noting that this is a very bad representation of the mythology and usually that annoys me however i am fine since Disney films never pretend they are an accurate adaption it is always just inspired by and the references in the film are great Actual story of Hercules ooooh boy that is a tragedy and Hades is almost never a bad guy he is one of the few gods that general does his job and avoid messing things up for humans on earth. But no need to get into that. If you want a really good and decently accurate series on greek mythology the Percy Jackson books and the disney series (BUT NOT THE FILMS) are outstanding

James McCarthy

The designs for every creature and entity in this film are amazing, love the titan designs (Ice titan is the best) and the Hydra is gorgeous.

James McCarthy

Hades is amazing, my second favourite disney villain and though James Woods is rather controversal now politically he did a fabulous job and you might be interested to know he does the voice for all appearance of the character including the animated series and every kingdom hearts game. Best disney villains for me 1) Maleficient (original sleeping beauty) 2) Hades 3) Jafar 4) Ursula 5) Dr Facilier

LouShirley

Happy birthday, Veggie! Hope you had a good one 😁 This is one of the few animated Disney movies I've actually seen 😅 For some reason, I've never been one to enjoy them much, even as a child 🤔

Somedude Watchintv

Hades rules the underworld but he's not the devil despite how he's portrayed here. He's not even death itself, that's Thanatos.

James McCarthy

Somehow missed it was your birthday, merry birthday (:

It's not "quite Superman", Superman is quite Hercules. Many of the classic superhero stories employ archetypes that have been in the western mythological canon for millenia, and many of those archetypes are from ancient greece. There's a reason those types of stories tend to stick with us. They have been refined for over 2000 years. Rebelling against your tyrannic father? Zeus usurps Kronos. A gifted child envies his more successful little brother? Take your pick, either Hades and Zeus or Kain and Abel. Yes, I'm going to the bible, baby. It's no coincidence many of the original authors of the bible were greek and our oldest manuscripts are in that language. These archetypes are the foundation of western culture and they are much, much older than christianity.

Happy Birthday Veggie! So glad you enjoyed Hercules. I think James Woods playing Hades with the energy of a fast talking used car salesman is such a hilarious way to do a villain. The music is also some of my favourite and really adds a lot to the movie.

Yxvandoolu

Being trying to watch this on three seperate occasions. It will not load for me. Just the swirly thing. Am in DK. Could watch the HP Streamable videos a few months back, no problem.

VeggieGamer

So sorry about this! I just checked and the video is still up, so I am not sure what you are running into. You may be able to download it, but sorry, it doesn't seem to be on my end! :(
