Hi guys! The title says 'An Apology' but I need to make a couple! XD

First off, so sorry I haven't replied to comments in a few days.  I like to make a point to reply to as many messages as possible, but with the editing and other things I haven't been able to pop on here and give each message  the time they deserve! I hope to fix that tomorrow!

Secondly... I am so sorry for missing some key info in my Deathly Hallows Part 1 reaction! Though I would argue you REALLY have to be paying attention for some things, the Regulus thing must have been infuriating to watch!  I am gonna make some changes for Part 2 to help fix this, including using headphones. I am not overly fond of wearing them, but I definitely think I would have picked up more of I had worn them for Part 1.

I will DEFINITELY not spend time looking at my phone to try and find actors names either. If I don't know someone, I'll save it for the break or the ending to search them.  One other problem I have is when I am making notes, I zone out for half a second, so I am going to have to be more shroud with how and when I make 'um!

Hope you are having a great weekend! 😊

EDIT! - This post wasn't based on anyone's feedback, btw!!! I saw I had missed the Regulus thing and already knew I needed to let peeps know I was behind on replying. Your comments and feedback are always greatly appreciated!! :)

Oh Veggie. I hate that you feel like you have to apologise to us for these things 🥺 It makes ME feel like we don’t deserve you! (which we probably don’t, let’s be real 🤣)

PurplePetalLeaves

Aww! You don’t owe us an apology at all! And it wasn’t infuriating at all. I think so many of us remarked on it because we didn’t want you to be disappointed in a lack of a RAB reveal. And you don’t have to wear headphones if they are not your thing, just know we’ll help you out if something slips by while you’re watching another detail or looking something up! And take your time with comments and replies. We know you’re not a robot 😊

Milena

You don't need to apologise! I did notice how you seemed to pay less attention when you make notes or search things up, but if it annoyed me, only for your sake because I want you to not miss a thing and enjoy the movie, if that makes sense. You don't owe us anything, your reaction videos are still the best!! ❤

emmainkeri

I think especially in the last movie, it would be better to not even take notes. It's more important to just enjoy the experience of seeing it for the first time! I feel like if you take notes you end up missing visual cues. But of course it's your choice 😇

emmainkeri

Also you could just look up the names after the movie, or maybe watch some of the credits? But you really don't have to apologize! 🧡

PaulaC

You were zoned out for like 5 seconds when Kreacher said “Before Master Regulus died”. And that’s all it takes. 5 seconds of zone out time. But otherwise you are picking up on things really well!

Kat

You really are the best Veggie - even with things being manic IRL you still got the video edited and put up for us, that's more than enough! I can imagine by the time you did that there was no time/energy left to focus on the comments right away, none of us mind a bit though :) I don't blame you for missing things - in the movies so much is left out until the last second and there is no time to take it in. My only tip going into the last one is, there are quick-fire explanations towards the end, I recommend listening intently and then pausing to react/talk afterwards, so you don't miss a word! Plus it will be more satisfying to get a longer reaction to those final explanations/scenes in more depth by adding in a short pause. Love everything you do and how much you care about your Patrons <3

Kamilla Mari

Please don’t apologise! Only do what YOU feel like doing. I gave you some advice in the comments of the movie, but it wasn’t meant to make you feel bad or pressure you in any direction. I only want you to have an amazing experience with the final movie, but in the end you’re the only one who knows what works for you! ❤️

Ana Mendes

You don’t have to apologize for anything! I think it’s adorable how invested you are. ☺️ Could I suggest, if you’re going to start wearing headphones (since that’s how I synced my copy of the movie - synching the audio), could you play the first minute of the movie in the bottom left corner? This doesn’t infringe copyright in any way and you can even blur it. It’s just so we have a visual to match with our copy. We might have different copies of the movies (depending on the streaming service), which means they may not start exactly at the same time as yours.

As other people have said: I did notice that you missed out on some information because of googling and making notes, but I wasn't annoyed (and certainly didn't need an apology!), I just thought to myself "I'll make a comment suggesting that he skip the notes for the last film". I was a bit worried about you doing that for the last film as it seemed like you missed out on maybe 8-9-10 minutes here (if we add it together). I don't think it was a big problem in this movie – that you didn't know if Regulus was alive or dead wasn't exactly the worst problem in the world, and the fact that you missed out on something from the radio isn't a big problem either at this point. Anyway, I really like your reactions, and you, so I'm not annoyed at all, I just want you not miss a lot of the last movie! It will be more vital there, so yeah, I hope you consider dropping the whole notes thing. I have a feeling that you won't need the notes for the last film anyway. Maybe just take one or two more breaks instead? Really looking forward to your reaction for the last movie! And also your book reviews, which I really love. (And also the last five minutes of your part 1 reaction, as I hadn't finished it when I noticed you having made this post!)

VeggieGamer

Oh Kamilla, don't worry! This blog isn't based on anyone's individual replies! I always love getting advice as it is the only way I can improve! I just realised I must have missed something regarding Regulus and went back and found I had miss crucial info! So don't worry! :) And thanks so much!! :)

H

Oh, and also, as other have mentioned: you are actually really good at noticing both the small and important details here, except the whole "zoning out when making notes" thing that was a bit noticeable. And you don't always zone out when making notes either, often we see you nodding along to the information while writing, so it's generally not a big problem. I would still suggest that you avoid it for the last film just to make sure you don't miss out on visual cues, but you're a great reactor, so I do trust your judgment on that!

Ali Micelli

To be fair, Veggie, you catch a lot of little details that I've missed even after watching these films dozens of times. You're brilliant and an absolute joy to watch with no matter what.

Kellie Fritz

No need for apologies! You do a great job on catching things especially considering you’re reacting verbally. I knew you’d catch it in the editing and mention it in the beginning of part 2. Didn’t bother me any.

Kellie Fritz

Oh and I’ve seen multiple reactions to part 1 and majority miss the comment on the radio. And almost none remember who Regulus is let alone figure out RAB is Regulus before getting there.

Phoney Phoenix

no need to be sorry i really like your videos the way it is

Koala

I really appreciate that you're sensitive to our viewing experience. I appreciate the effort and changes.

Kunzite Blossom

Honestly, I don't think anyone catches EVERY detail the first watch through. So don't feel sorry for missing stuff cause you lose focus for a few seconds. It definitely takes a good few watches to really notice some things. I've watched these movies hundreds of times and I still notice little things here and there. Made my boyfriend watch and even though he was focused there were a ton of things he didn't notice I would point out to him. Listening to the books will help too. However even with the books, more then once will be good. On my second listen I noticed stuff I didn't the first time, cause obviously depending on where you are the focus can differ also. Something that may be interesting in spare time is watching the Super Carlin Brothers "Dumbledore's Plan" series as it helps fill some plot holes and may help you pick up details you missed. Also just watching some of their theory videos in general.

Garry (Not Jerry)

No apology necessary! taking notes and googling the actors name shows that you are trying to make really good content. Getting things wrong is fine! (It gives us something to talk about in The comments. There aren’t that many new characters in the last movie (although there are a few) so I don’t think you’ll need to take too many notes anyway. And yes I agree that waiting for the break to google actor names would be better. Ideally you pause the video as you go but obviously that would be annoying for people trying to synchronise to the movie so it’s a good compromise.

ray

Yeah, if he could have the audio for the first minute every time he starts the movie (starting it, after every break, etc) would be very helpful indeed, since each copy of the movie doesn't have the same timestamps ;) [most importantly, at the beginning though]

Hanneli Norrgard

I say to do what you want to do. You've caught so many details that all the other reactors I've seen miss, so you're doing a fine job.

Jamie B

Your reactions to this series are the best I've ever watched, it's truely like reliving the experience with you. Even with everything else you do you catch so many things for a 1st time watch through so many others don't. You respect the series and other fans. Your expressions are priceless and I for one love all the extra tidbits you thrown in about the actors and British things in general and I really like how you pause midway for a quick run-through. Keep doing what you're doing it's great!

Monique

Oh my goodness - no need to apologize! I did think to myself that upon editing you were going to realize that there were a few moments that you missed some things that might have helped with story due to note taking or actor look ups but figured you'd catch it then. We can't all catch it all, all the time. I do think for the final film, headphones, minimal notes and no actor look ups will provide YOU with a better experience. There is a lot of information coming at you very fast combined with significant action so looking away or being distracted can mean you will possibly miss some big developments. That said, you've picked up on so many things that most people who haven't read the books simply gloss over that I think you have done wonderfully! I've enjoyed the time I've spent watching these with you as they are special to me. My daughter and I took turns reading these books to each other. We started when the third book came out, caught up and from there every book release, I took her to the bookstore at midnight to get our copy and she loved the excitement of people in costumes and being up so late past bedtime. We would then spend the next day cuddled up in jammies with a bed picnic of snacks reading to each other. When the movies came out, we went to midnight showings so she didn't have to wait even a day and chance spoilers. It was a years long activity for the two of us and those memories mean the world to us. As a matter of fact we had been considering going for trust tattoos and she, being cheeky, told me I'd never guess what her choice for my tattoo would be and I just said "Harry Potter" and she grumbled and told me that now we couldn't do it until she thought of something else. I think I will tell her I'm happy with the subject matter and to surprise me with the specifics. The memories for her were so deep that out of everything we have ever done together the one thing she would choose to put on my body as a reminder of our relationship is Harry Potter. Your delight and attentiveness watching these has reminded me of my time with my daughter and our delight in our discovery of the Potter universe. I've greatly enjoyed ever minute of your reactions and am so looking forward to watching the last movie with you!

Kala Costiloe

Please don't apologize! The things you do in your reaction videos are what make it you. Watching the movies with you is a unique experiences because you who you are and how you react to things. Talking about actors or getting distracted its all part of your experience. Your reactions are my absolute favorite and you don't have to change what you do for us to enjoy them!

Anders Ekren

Just have fun with the videos and enjoy the movies, that's what makes your content so based. You don't owe anyone anything. Thanks for working hard, and make sure to catch some breaks!

Ana Mendes

Yes! I always have a bit of a hard time synching the audio, cause I noticed he mutes the movie (or background noise) when he's not talking. But I manage. :)

Xeph

It's totally fine! Frankly, it's insane how many things you've picked up on throughout this reaction series. You've managed to figure out things that were explained heavily in the books, but only given a few seconds of screentime in the movies. Missing a thing here or there is normal.

Mae

No need to apologize! We’re all here because we love your reaction style! The few things you’ve missed are very common misses because the movies don’t explain everything well, especially in the end where they have to fit so much in. We want you to enjoy doing the reactions so do them however feels natural and fun!

Mae

Also you’ve mentioned seeking suggestions for possible future reactions after HP so I’ll give a few I’d love to see (if you haven’t already seen them): the HP reunion on HBO (you may not get the same nostalgia since you’re a newer fan, but I think you’d love it anyway since you really enjoy the cast behind the characters. Plus it’s so well done), Pirates of the Caribbean (such a fun franchise, but I’d only watch the first three that make up the original trilogy), or the Hamilton musical on HBO!

Xeph

Hamilton is on Disney+

Mae

Oops yes my bad!! Xeph is right!
