Newt Scamander. Lily was head girl, Hagrid mentions it in chapter 4 of Stone :)

emmainkeri

The quidditch thing: Snape probably wants Harry out of the team because 1. Harry loves to play and Snape knows it and he reeally doesn't like Harry 2. James was the star player in their time and Snape hated him as well 3. Snape favors Slytherin and taking Harry out of the team would give Slytherin a better chance to win the Quidditch Cup that year > also more points to win the House Cup

Lady Beyond The Wall

Scamander! I'm pretty sure the bludger hit Harry and broke his arm first and he had to use his other hand in the movie as well.

Kunzite Blossom

I'm a little surprised you don't remember Care for Magical Creatures. While it doesn't come up in the first two movies, its in the other movies. It is the class Hagrid ends up teaching. In the movies it doesn't play much of a role cause it is only seen a few times, (which is why it isn't totally surprising you forgot) but it's where we meet Buckbeak. It also gets mentioned a few times, like when Hagrid is off on his secret mission, Dumbledore says who will be replacing him as professor for Care of Magical Creatures. The name of the class is defiantly mentioned several times in the films. The class will play a larger role in the books though. Few creatures I can't wait for you to meet!

emmainkeri

Yes I was just about to comment this as well, he does get badly hit in the arm just as he's reaching for the snitch.

jensson

Wizards have healers instead of doctors and dentists that use potions and magic to heal people. Will come up more in later books.

Eshi

Came on to answer Veggie on this point... But you've covered it all haha... Only thing I'd like to add is that Snape hated that James was on the quidditch team and thought it made him more pig headed...as Snape always thinks Harry is the same as James.... He would have thought if Harry was not in the quidditch team anymore it would make him less pig headed 😁

Marc Post Jr

The Bludger does break Harry’s arm in the movie, actually. As Harry reaches for the Snitch, it comes from his right hand side and breaks his arm, and then he catches it with his left hand

Hawwah

4. Quidditch is dangerous and Harry's safety is Severus' priority number one.

emmainkeri

Eshi, yeah it's a combination of.. everything Harry and James 😂 Lol Hawwah, that must be it!!

emmainkeri

Ghosts come from all over Britain to live (.....) at Hogwarts. Most of them did not actually die there.

VeggieGamer

Newt Scamander. Hi guys! Sorry, I make a couple of mistakes here. Including but not exclusively the Bludger thing with Harry's arm. I did rewatch it before making the video, but I some how completely missed it O_o And assumed it was broken when he hit the ground. My bad and sorry for the confusion!

Eshi

There are muggle born quidditch players... It will come up in the later books. That's all I'm going to say 😁

Methanoutput

An awesome Book Club again! Since you've said at the end, that you want to get them out faster, i just wanted to say, that would be super cool but the story should be something that makes you feel comfy and brings you joy (in my opinion) and if you rush yourself to get the next book club out, it may be a chore at some point. So please dont feel bad about taking time!

emmainkeri

It's interesting that you picture most of the actors as the characters, but don't imagine Maggie Smith as McGonagall. For me it's the opposite! There are very few characters that I don't have my own version for, I can't even think of others. Maybe Hagrid? And even McGonagall is a bit of a mix in my head.

Kattie Martin

Scamander The information about Slytherin thinking muggle borns were untrustworthy was mentioned by professor Binns when he explained the foundation of Hogwarts. And yes Peeves dropped the vanishing cabinet because Filtch mentions it was a priceless or expensive vanishing cabinet.

S1lm4r1l

The biology of muggles and wizards are subtly different, later books will go into this with much more detail. Wizards aren't immune to diseases but because they have access to magic, their ability to both inflict and remedy conditions and diseases is vast compared to what Muggles have to make do with. Percy undertakes some of the most interesting character development in the series, and in some ways mirrors Hermione. Percy is definitely one of those background characters that receives a lot more attention in the books. The Weasley twins are not above playing dirty and they take their Quidditch seriously. "Nearly Headless Nick" is arguably a constant reminder of the fact that he wasn't decapitated properly and cannot join the Headless Hunt. Whether or not the students intend the nickname as ridicule, Nick certainly takes it that way. Squibs are borne to wizarding parents, but possess no magical ability. The Quickspell course is implied to be for wizards who either aren't very good, or to sucker in Squibs like Filch who desperately want magic. Very realistic and very sad. You're asking deep questions on Peeves' nature. Suffice to say he gets more thoroughly explained later as does the power dynamic between Filch and him. Filch can punish students for rulebreaking which is why a lot of the students loathe Filch and probably a factor behind his and Snape's relationship. Both loathe and are loathed by the students. Head Boys/girls and prefects get discussed in later books, you'll have to wait for that I'm afraid. Oh Nellie are you in for a treat regarding the significance of Halloween to the story! People mooching off Harry's popularity within the magical world is something that comes up repeatedly throughout the books. (And will become much more brazen and obvious as time goes on.) Care of magical creatures is an elective 3rd years and above take. So the golden trio haven't got to that stage yet. Defence against the Dark Arts covers 'dark' creatures, or creatures you don't wanna mess with. More in later books. You'll have to wait a while for the Bloody Baron's story I'm afraid. Snape just wants to increase Slytherin's chances of winning the Quidditch cup by putting Harry out of action. And he suspects Harry is up to something, because Harry is usually up to something, and because Snape hates him. Ron's willing to laugh at Filch, because he now knows why Filch is so unpleasant to the students. How someone judges a person shouldn't necessarily be taken as an example for how they'd treat every person of that particular ilk or characteristic. (Again, this is explained in later books.) The message is written in paint in the books. Hermione doesn't like flying, but she's utterly terrified of being terrible at magic, or terrible enough to not belong in the magical world. Interesting that you pick up on a note of ruthlessness and determination to win in Hermione. Unlike Harry and Ron she is directly affected by the Heir's threat as a Muggleborn. Harry and Ron are simply engaging up of vain curiosity and a nosy desire to investigate Malfoy. Hermione understands that its literally her life/her place at Hogwarts on the line. Quidditch is pretty much scrubbed from the Movies after film 3, they form a much more regular and important aspect of the books.

Lady Beyond The Wall

Yeah I think he thought Quirrell taught Care of Magical Creatures as well as Defense Against the Dark Arts because in the first movie, he's holding some big lizard in the class when they went to get Oliver Wood, but that was just the DADA class.

Annabellae Priestly

Newt Scamander! Another very enjoyable reaction/discussion. I so look forward to these videos!

Fiur

There is a whole article about Peeves in the so called Rowling Archives. Apparently Peeves appeared someday, born from all the mischievous thoughts of the students in the castle. There were some tries to banish him from the castle but they were all in vain. So he is sort of tolerated and there was an agreement with him that he doesn't pull off his pranks in the classrooms while the profs are teaching. A little side note...did you notice that the vanishing cabinet Peeves drops and which breaks is later seen at a totally different place? In Half blood Prince this is probably the exact same cabinet Malfoy tries to repair in the room of requirement.

Lady Beyond The Wall

I meant to mention this in my previous comment, but I think Hermione's flying fear has more to do with the "failing" thing than maybe being scared of heights thing. It could be both, but since like how in the movies (since we're keeping this to strictly the movies and what's been in the books so far), she really wasn't into Divination because it's not something that can be taught with direct and exact instructions from a book and you'll do fine as long as you follow the instructions - I figured the flying thing is maybe similar. Might be more of a fear of being bad at it, flying more being a thing that you just kind of "feel" and go for it in a similar way as Divination (but not the same, obviously) and maybe some fear of heights just being mixed in there, lol. It's probably how I'd be with it. I am scared of heights, but I think I'd be more scared of being bad at it and killing myself because I was so bad. 😂 Could be wrong but that's how I'd reconcile that line from the PoA movie and what you read about her fear on the internets. But also - the boggart shows your WORST fear. Maybe she is really scared of heights and flying but just fears failing worse. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I mean, she was more worried about being expelled than killed in the first movie/book, lol.

Hawwah

About Professor Snape suggesting Harry's expulsion from Quidditch. Firstly, Harry just brazenly lied to the professors about a very serious matter and Snape immediately recognized it. He hoped suggesting such a punishment would prompt Harry to tell the truth. Secondly, Quidditch is dangerous - Harry almost got killed in his very first game - and Snape's priority number one is Harry's physical safety.

Hawwah

Severus didn't hate James because James played Quidditch for Gryffindor. He hated him because James relentlessly bullied him for years and at least once sexually assaulted him.

emmainkeri

I didn't say Snape hated James because he played Quidditch. That whole deal is much more complicated and I'm not getting into it, especially knowing Veggie's not there yet.

Kunzite Blossom

Thats what I was thinking when he thought of Quirrell. I think he was holding an iguana? I just love he got that mixed up with Hagrids class. Also the fact he thought it was 2 different classes.

Thunderbird

Newt Scamander 😉 The thing about Harry growing his hair in my mind had more to do with him feeling very very embarrassed about it. We learned in PS that young wizards who don’t know how to control their magic yet do things unintentionally. To me that is what this is about. And yes wizards do get sick, there are even some magic sicknesses like the Dragon pox (Which are usually more severe). Something I noticed is that a lot of people who watch the movies for the first time question Hogwarts' safety because of the dangerous classes and quidditch. I think those two things (sickness and injuries) go together because in the magic world you can heal people with very effective spells and potions. I mean Madam Pomfrey can mend bones in seconds. So if you break something or get ill it is just not that big of a deal because you’ll be back on your feet in a very short time. That is also why they can / are willing to do way more dangerous things than muggles and take bigger risks. But those are just my thoughts 😊

VeggieGamer

Sorry Kattie. I clearly missed both those moments while listening.

Kattie Martin

It's no worries, I only picked it up because I listened to the chapters three times before making my book club comment. I had never noticed these facts and I've been reading these books since I was seven.

Annette Elliott

Newt Scamander. Percy is an ambitious stuffed shirt.

Frederique Gillespie

NEWT SCAMANDER... You need to stop apologizing for taking time to do these. They're a delight. Well worth the wait. Could you give us a "deadline" within which to post comments on the Book Club page? Like, a cut-off day/time. I'm a keen reader and read many things at the same time, so I try to pace myself with the books. It would help me to know that I have till such and such a time to comment. No worries if you can't. I find most of the things I would have said are usually said by someone else. But, honestly, you're a legend for doing these. That's what I hope you take away. Freddie from Montreal

Annette Elliott

The thing with Ron laughing at Filch is because Filch is so mean to the the students. The thing that irritates me the most in all of the movies, besides Ron's character, is that they make almost all if the spells have the same effect.

Thunderbird

Yes, especially in thae scene of the duelling club. It makes no sense that every spell just knocks the other one off his feet 😆

Diego Zenhäusern

Totally! I have to say that I find his comment really interesting though. Wizardborn students definitely have a head start here. So I wouldn't be supprised if there were less professional players that were muggleborn than wizardborn🤔...of course after you take into account that there are probably also more wizardborn than muggleborn wizards in the first place!

Diego Zenhäusern

100% agree! I'd love to have a more recular and frequent upload shedule, but it isn't worth it if it takes away you're joy/ gets to overbearing for you!

Diego Zenhäusern

I completely forgott that the message wasn't written in blood in the books. I was convinced it had been blood as well🙈...always interesting which tinny little details from the movies creep into my knowledge of the boosk. I also totally agree with your point on Hermione, I think she isn't really afraid of flying but just dislikes it and I think it's implied that this is at least partly because she isn0t good at it. I also think her nervousness before the first lesson is because flying is something you can't really learn from a book and so she's afraid she'll fail/ be bad at it.😅

Diego Zenhäusern

I agree with you, I think the way it's portrayed in the books it really isn't about her being afraid of flying/ heigts but just her not enjoying it because she's just not really good at it.

Diego Zenhäusern

Newt Scamander I totally agree with you that the students should be at the very least suspicious about Filch being a Squib...it just woulnd't make sense for hi to not use magic to clean otherwise. But I think that's just one of many little plotholes/ oversights that are bound to occur when you write a series that is this long...so it doesn't bother me🙂 I think it's really interesting that you were keen enough to pick up on Nick wanting to join the headless hunt in the mocies but missunderstood what the headless hunt was. But I definitely don't blame you for it....I think it would be totally natural and valid to assume that it was just the name of the game instead of leaping to the idea that it would be an entire club😅

Zachary

Poltergeists are created from the subconcious strong emotions or desires of a person or group of people. Peeves is basically created subconsciously by the student body as a whole and cannot easily be removed as he would just reform.

Jacob sparks

Newt scamander Ghosts can come and go, they are not all past students and they definitely didn't pass at hogwarts. You will get some more info in later books.

Loveinthehat

Some people try to defend Snape with stuff he does but I think he’s just being a prick because he genuinely hates Harry. Snape trying to get Harry kicked out of the quidditch team is in no way to me a weird thing for him to do. Harry adores quidditch especially in the books, like you’ve pointed out and so him getting kicked out would be a massive punishment that would be really bad for Harry. That’s literally the only reason, it’s not really in Harry’s head Snape genuinely is bitter and hateful towards him and enjoys making him suffer which jk Rowling has said herself. There’s not any hidden meaning to it at this point he’s just being nasty lol.

emmainkeri

If Snape genuinely thinks that is a good way to teach morals, he's a horrible toxic teacher. Which he is regardless.

Garry (Not Jerry)

Edit: Newt scamander. Nice to hear a shout out for 12 angry men. I absolutely LOVE that movie. It’s so cleverly written, But most people are put off by the fact that it’s in black and white, which is a real shame.

Garry (Not Jerry)

Edit: newt scamander The thing you have to remember about book snape is that he just hates Harry and wants him to suffer. This is why he smirks when Harry is in trouble. And this is why he suggests that Harry gets kicked off the quidditch team. Because Harry likes quidditch and Snape doesn’t want Harry to be happy.

Hawwah

If Snape had enjoyed Harry suffer, he would just have let him fall to his death in Philosopher's Stone. You people seem to forget Snape is a double agent. He has to pretend he hates Harry while he secretly protects him.

Hawwah

Hawwah

He is no worse than McGonagall.

Hawwah

Some commenters here seem to forget that Professor Snape is a double agent who has to PRETEND he hates Harry. Everytime we see him interact with Harry, he is ACTING. He can't show his real allegiance, motives and intentions. However, everytime Harry is in danger, Professor Snape is here to the rescue. Acts speak louder than words. That's true both in literature and in real life.

Garry (Not Jerry)

Interesting theory. I think we need to examine the times when snape is talking about Harry to Dumbledore on his own - and therefore not having to keep up appearances. This does happen in the final book - in the pensieve we see a lot of times when Snape is just talking to Dumbledore on his own. Do you remember how Snape describes Harry to Dumbledore, when he first arrives at the school? And how Dumbledore responds?

Hawwah

I don't have the final book with me at the moment but I remember Severus saying that Harry was arrogant - which was undoubtedly true - and that he was an average student without any particular talent. The latter wasn't 100% true, because while Harry was an average student in most of his subjects, he had a particular talent for DADA. So, I'll agree with you that Severus wasn't entirely fair to Harry in this case. However, this only proves that Severus didn't particularly like Harry. It doesn't prove that he hated him, wanted to torture him, enjoyed his suffering or any other ridiculous stuff the Snape haters suggest.

Garry (Not Jerry)

Quite right. I’ve got the book right here. “Mediocre, arrogant as his father, a determined rule-breaker, delighted to find himself famous, attention-seeking and impertinent” He also says “he is his father over again”. Remember also that snape is cruel to other students (remember Hermione and the teeth? Force-feeding the potion to Neville’s toad?) So do you think that this is also part of the act?

Garry (Not Jerry)

Sorry didn’t mean to post this twice, but I don’t think you get notified when someone replies to a comment unless it’s your comment so…look at my reply in the comment above 👆

Loveinthehat

I don’t mean to be disrespectful but that’s just an excuse that people say to make snape seem good… that literally not true I’m sorry. Voldemort isn’t even back yet and even so jk Rowling herself has said that it isn’t an act, he genuinely hates Harry and other gryffindors and has said that snape is a deeply horrible person that bullies children. There’s no hidden meaning to what he’s doing and people try really hard to justify it. This doesn’t mean you can’t love snape as a character, it doesn’t stop the fact that he’s brave and did what he did later on, however he still isn’t a good person, these things can exist at the same time. He’s not a secret good person who really cares about his students who’s acting bad. That isn’t his character the point is he’s a bad person, who bad things have happened to and he changed sides for his own selfish reasons that he caused himself and is trying to fix it from his guilt. However he still doesn’t change into a nice person either because he is a bitter and in ways a childish man. That’s what makes snape morally grey and I personally think that trying to make excuses and justify his horrible behaviour to students does more of an injustice to what his character is supposed to be. He’s brave sure but that’s about it, dumbledore wouldn’t have kept him as a teacher if he didn’t need him there for his later plan with the way he treated students. Dumbledore himself has literally pulled snape up and criticised his behaviour as well. I like snape and that’s because he’s complicated and twisted character, all this makes him a good character and not a good person and that’s okay! It doesn’t mean you can’t like him but I feel like people try to make snape someone he is not, mainly because of how Alan Rickman played him to be honest. I’m not going to say much now because of spoilers but the phrase ‘actions speak louder than words’ is the exact reason why snape lost the person he cared about the most, because what he was saying was definitely not matching easy he was doing.

Loveinthehat

Hating someone and like watching them suffer is not the same thing as letting a child die do you not realise? Which is why James saved Snape’s life despite hating snape and enjoying watching him suffer as well. Does that make it okay? No because they both have their own reasons why they need to do it. Snape hating Harry and enjoy watching him suffer is literally canon said by the author herself… so I’m sorry to tell you but both that snape is a double agent, and that he’s a horrible man who enjoys watching children he is against suffer can exist at the same time. Like what I said before makes him morally grey in the first place.

Newt scamander A bit that was left out of the books in this chapter is a Ballard that Nick is supposed to sing. In my eyes it is such a shame that it is left out. It basically explains why nick was beheaded. I'll copy and paste it in, I know it's a bit long to read but it basically says that Nick was beheaded for giving a woman a tusk. "It was a mistake any wizard could make, Who was tired and caught on the hop, One piffling error, and then, to my terror, I found myself facing the chop. Alas for the eve when I met Lady Grieve, A-strolling the park in the dusk! She was of the belief I could straighten her teeth, Next moment she'd sprouted a tusk. I cried through the night that I'd soon put her right, But the process of justice was lax; They'd brought out the block, though they'd mislaid the rock, Where they usually sharpened the axe. Next morning at dawn, with a face most forlorn, The priest said to try not to cry, "You can come just like that, no, you won't need a hat," And I knew that my end must be nigh. The man in the mask who would have the sad task, Of cleaving my head from my neck, Said "Nick, if you please, will you get to your knees," And I turned to a gibbering wreck. "This may sting a bit" said the cack-handed twit, As he swung the axe up in the air, But oh the blunt blade! No difference it made, My head was still definitely there.'' The axeman he hacked and he whacked and he thwacked, "Won't be too long", he assured me, But quick it was not, and the bone-headed clot, Took forty-five goes 'til he floored me. And so I was dead, but my faithful old head, It never saw fit to desert me, It still lingers on, that's the end of my song, And now, please applaud, or you'll hurt me."

itsanursething

Snape DOES hate Harry; he's said on numerous occasions that he's just like his father (and we all know he hated James). But there's also a part of him that loves Harry because's he's Lily's son. It's Snape's love for Lily that governed his need to save Harry's life. If Harry dies there is nothing left of Lily and Snape doesn't want that. So he saved his life in Stone. But Snape is a Slytherin through and through, so of course he wants Harry off the quidditch team! So yes, he is a double agent, but he's not pretending to hate Harry.

Hawwah

James saved Severus for three reasons: 1. to save his own ass 2. to save Sirius' ass 3. to save Remus' ass. He didn't give a damn about Severus' wellbeing. SWM happened after the werewolf incident. Severus on the other hand is shown protecting students (primarily Harry but not just him) consistently throughout all seven books. It's one of his main characteristics. When did Snape enjoy watching children suffer?! You're just making stuff up. When Neville gave himself painful boils in his first Potions lesson, Severus sent him to the hospital wing immediately. When Harry made Goyle's cauldron explode on purpose, exposing his classmates to the painful effects of the potion, Snape immediately started administering an antidote to the students, instead of "enjoying their suffering". When Harry (or was it Ron?) cursed Goyle with boils, Snape again sent him to the hospital wing immediately. When Crabbe choked Neville in Umbridge's office, Snape told him to stop. When a Death Eater tortured Harry with Crucio at the end of HBP, Snape stopped him. You don't like Snape? That's perfectly fine with me. But stop making stuff up.

Hawwah

Garry Hall - I responded to you in the other thread. Edit - I deleted that response by mistake. I could kick myself.

Hawwah

@Loveinthehat I think the mistake the people who claim that "Snape was a bad person" make is that they confuse being nice with being a morally good person. The truth is, being a nice (friendly, sweet, warm, etc.) person does not equal being a morally good person. Quirrell, young Tom Riddle, Lockhart, Barty Crouch jr., even Umbridge were nice before they showed their true colors. Another truth is, being a strict, unpleasant, acerbic person who doesn't sugarcoat things doesn't equal being a morally bad person. As I said, acts speak louder than words. TL, DR: Being nice and being a morally good person are two different things that have nothing to do with each other.

Hawwah

I just typed a looong reply and then deleted it by accident :'( I'll write it again but it will take some time.

Hawwah

One more point: you guys suggest that Snape is a horrible person because his idea of a punishment is banning a student from Quidditch. Did you forget that McGonagall punished 3 first years by sending them to the Forbidden Forest at night, while she knew perfectly well that there was something in the forest that was killing unicorns? We are told that killing a unicorn is 1. very difficult 2. unspeakably vile. So she must have known that whatever the thing was, it was extremely dangerous. And she still thought it was a good idea to send 3 friggin' first years there. And you guys are telling me that Snape is somehow worse than McGonagall?

Loveinthehat

Listen… you can argue and make excuses if you want to. I’m just saying that Snape hating the children and bullying them is literally canon said by jk Rowling herself. He does literally bully children and enjoy watching them suffer… she said it herself so what are you trying to argue against? He’s a horrible person who bullies children doesn’t mean that he isn’t protecting them? He’s only doing it because dumbledore tells him to. That’s got nothing to do with how he still treats them horribly because he wants to. That’s not something it can change and you completely ignored the fact that that’s literally confirmed by the author herself. No one is talking about how we think he’s horrible JUST because he wants to ban him for quidditch no one said that. There’s a lot of things I can say why Snape is horrible but they’re spoilers so there’s no point. Also again I didn’t say James cared about Snape you missed my point. You just assumed why James saved Snape though… it wasn’t said that was the reason. Plus him saving Snape would’ve have saved James ass at all because James wasn’t anything to do with it regardless. He hated Snape but I doubt he’d want him dead either, however regardless the reason I mentioned James was because it’s a similar thing. Snape saving Harry was because he HAS to, that doesn’t mean he likes him or cares about him.

Hawwah

You didn't try to refute any of my arguments. You just copied and pasted your previous post. I'm going to do the same. Newton Artemis Fidos Scamander (cough) Since I read the books before the films came out - I had different ideas about the characters. For me McGonagall was always way youger looking. I love Maggie Smith - but for me she was just way to old. But then... Snape was only 38 in the Deathly Hallows... I never imagined Alan Rickman as Snape when reading but after the movies I sort of have this "Sherrif of Nottingham" picture (only that he would have been to handsome). So some things changed after the movies, when I read the books. As with you - McGonagall I still see different. Also... Lockhard is only in his 20s - so again as much as I love Kenneth Branagh - he was also way to old for the role.

Sometimes the interface on the mobile version of Patreon breaks and I have to re-write my replies. It’s very annoying! On your point about morality. “The world isn’t split into good people and death eaters” - Sirius Black I don’t think anyone is trying to convince you that Snape is evil. Is bullying immoral? Is name calling immoral?

As for snape trying to get harry kicked off the team… Snape is just trying to make life miserable for Harry. I don’t think he knows about dobby or anything. He just sees an opportunity and wants to use it. He might also be suggesting these punishments even though he can’t enforce them to get harry and the gang afraid and get them back in line. Keep them out of the way.

But… you aren’t listening to me? The stuff you said is irrelevant to what I said and I never copy and pasted anything? I don’t know how I’m making it up because like I said before the author of the entire series says he bullies children and enjoyed making them suffer because he’s a deeply horrible person? The stuff you said has nothing to do with what I’m talking about. I’m not copying and pasting I’m just saying that snape being horrible for no reason is canon but you keep ignoring that point entirely to make points that don’t change what I said. Also you clearly do care that I don’t like snape even though I never said that I don’t like him… since you’ve made multiple comments on it, people just get overly defensive of fictional characters I realise. This discussion is pointless though it won’t get anywhere because I have a feeling you’ll get mad at me and say I’m repeating myself again. So let’s agree to disagree!

This is fascinating. I didn't know that.

So you think teachers shouldn't punish students for brazenly lying to them?
