Hi everyone! 🫶

THE TIME HAS COME. 🙌🙌🙌 I'm adding another series to the rotation, and would love your thoughts on what you'd want me to watch next! 💞

I spent a lot of time the past week deliberating whether to 1. add more episodes to the shows I’m currently watching OR 2. start a brand new series. In the end I decided on a new series for a few reasons. Since these are my first-ever animes, I wanted to continue experiencing the current ones at a pace that's comfortable/not rushed for me. Also, adding variety imo is always good and fun for the channel! 🧡💛💜

The plan is to have this poll up for the next ~week, and then once the series is confirmed (🥳), I'll add it to the rotation in Nov!

The options below are series I saw commented quite a bit (on both YouTube and Patreon). I’ve also gotten feedback that these are v popular, visually stunning, amazing storytelling (all the things), and that I’d really enjoy each of them, so I'm super excited to watch any of them next!

So happy you're here!

Kaye ✨💛💫

P.S. this is my first poll ever, let's hope I did it righttt 😇 lol

Twisted Glass

Happy to see you continue your anime journey! AoT has my vote, but all three of these are fantastic, you're in for a treat no matter what wins.

Matthias

Damn I though I had more time before the tourist arrives, it's crazy we got two poorly written show like SNK and JJK at the same time.

Charles Hartford

Some other options I’d recommend for the next time would be: Violet Evergarden Cyberpunk Edgerunners Trigun Stampede/Stargaze Summertime Rendering

george

Jujutsu Kaisen after Frieren would be cool.. but AoT is just incredible i have to vote it

Brandon VanDyke

These are some good anime and I doubt you'll find fault with them, but all of them lean into a similar action type story as Demon Slayer. If there's any part of you that would be interested in a more relaxed or a more intricate or different style of plot more like Frieren, I would really recommend Apothecary Diaries down the road!! I think you'd very much enjoy it, and it would be interesting to see your takes on that world! But I think you'll enjoy these listed in the poll as well!

WanderingBecauseLostLol

Personally love JJK for the worldbuilding/power system nerdy aspects and of course the action. It does have a lot of inside humor that is meant for a Japanese audience and really doesn't translate too well, but knowing that ahead of time would help I'm sure. AoT was an anime that pulled a LOT of non-anime watchers into the genre and was a pretty big deal for a long time.

Mango

All good shows for different reasons, love the story/mystery of aot, love the characters and animation of JJK

Mango

Don't be a hater man, let her form her own opinions by watching them

Munnin

Unfortunate to see only battle shonen anime here. As someone who isn't watching the demon slayer reactions, I'm not super enthused to rewatch any of these. I'll rewatch AoT but man that community can be really toxic for no reason some times.

2026-10-23 14:00 Looks like Attack on Titan is in the lead... now I gotta go binge it so I know what Kaye's reacting to 😅 I've somehow swiveled away from watching it at all (and I think I've stumbled into a few significant spoilers, unfortunately), but from what I can tell it makes for great reaction content.

All fine choices and definitely options to get to eventually. Like other people said it is all shounen. I'd advise against stacking these kind of longer running shows next to each other too much. Plenty of shorter 12 or 24 episode animes in a variety of genres to consider as well. Stuff like Your Lie in April or Violet Evergarden if you want to cry, Psycho Pass or Erased if you want to think, Horimiya or My Dress Up Darling if you're just really craving cute romance. Maybe even some standalone movies like A Silent Voice or Your Name are great to do. Too much great stuff out there to mention in a single comment.

Augusto Fotino Kassamatsu Lopes

I mean, unless you pay all her bills, she's bound to go for animes that have greater visibility and demand, like those. I find it difficult to believe there's a huge public that is willing to sign up on patreon just to watch something like a Monster reaction.

aloekayeANIME

Tbh I totally agree with you.. My brother and I were actually discussing this ~2 nights ago, and I said the same thing, that I wanted to keep a balance of shows (like Frieren and DS). I really wanted to add Apothocary Diaries, Violet Evergarden, some others I saw, as there were SO many comments of ppl saying that I'd love them. But I do think there's some merit behind me watching some 'bigger' shows to start, still being SO new to anime. I also think I will really enjoy/resonate w all of these 3 above. THAT BEING SAID, once Frieren S2 comes around and I do another poll for you guys to help choose the series after that, I'm going to include some of these style shows in that poll 🙌💫✨ Tysm for the comment!!! 💛

Matthias

No opinions to be form they are objectively bad lol. Snk author had such a poor weak and cowardly vision in his own story he changed the end multiple time because he had no backbone and knew his story was weak from the get go. JJk is just carried by a bunch of poor overworked and abused animators and I can't wait from a certain part of the manga to be adapted so every one can see gege has no idea where he was going either.

2026-10-22 16:59 To be hero x or tomo chan is a girl lol it's a huge ask but I'm telling ya, these anime are so played out people getting burned out on watching 100000000000 reactors reacting to the same 5 anime. Although they are all decent, they are the same genre and looking at the comments others agree to sprinkle in more than shonen anime. You have two polarizing types of people. People who live and die by shonen and people who absolutely despise people who solely watch one type of anime. You should put the shonen anime on YouTube to gather a following there and build you audience there then funnel them here eventually. So like maybe do a few episodes of like jjk on YouTube see how it's received then try to pull them here. Just trying to help. You say you're new to anime I actually want you to enjoy more than just the SUPER DUPER UBER POPULARIZED shonens. I promise you having more than one type of anime in your portfolio is going to benefit you more in the long run seeings as slice of life and rom com anime is taking off the last 5 years

This is so interesting!!! My brother thought that JJK would be chosen, so it's cool to see AoT taking a lead early on! Curious to see what the final result will be next week 👀👀👀

aloekayeANIME

This is lovely to read, tysm for the comment! 💛 I didn't know what to expect w the poll (don't know what to expect w any of these new shows either lol), but I'm so eager to see what you guys vote for!! ✨🙌💫

Vincent

Im in a rough spot here because I really dont like any of these. AoT is for sure my least fav so thats out. FMAB is widely considered the best anime of all time by the shonen community but I personally really dont care for it cuz the overarching story is too seeped in neoliberalism that I dont feel has aged well. JJK is the newest and has the most spectacle (flashy animation) but the story telling leaves a lot to be desired and it over explains a lot with dense text.

FloofyCat

Trigun, the original. You will get to see amime in the old way. Hand drawn for the most part. Also, the English is super good. Comic, serious, sad, alt sci-fi and old west, otherworld

Kyle Taggart

Damn, AOT will win, and it deserves the love. However I will be there for every single damn episode of FMAB when you get to it. Mentioned before but as you have a brother, I truly feel the show will grab you, and leave a huge impression on you. Also, I know how ppl feel about sub vs dub, but I truly think watching dub for AOT will help you understand things a lot better, and for FMAB dub is way better (imo). Excited to see you just itching for more anime. Also can’t wait for more Frieren, and season 2 as well.

Mango

What shows would you recommend

Mango

Would love to see a romance anime reaction in the future, fragrant flower is a fave. Blue box is also really fun

Xthentic

lmao I really wasn't expecting AOT on this list. Seeing you flinch at blood, this is going to be a treat.

Christopher Petersen

What would you say are types of stories you enjoy in general? These shows are not bad, but there is much more out there other than shonen stuff.

Treborsel

All are great, but Fullmetal Alchemist is considered one of the top 3 anime's of all time. It is a must watch for any new anime fan.

makeouthill

yea so i need aot to win ts

Zclipse

These choices make complete sense considering this is only your third anime. I get some people wanting more variety than shonen, but to me this seems like the completely logical next step when you’re also trying to grow a new channel. AoT is already looking like a goliath in the voting, and I honestly doubt many other shows would pull that kind of interest. There’s a reason it was a gateway into anime for so many people. Other genres and more niche shows will come naturally as you work through more anime. You’ve barely scratched the surface, so there’s really no need to rush into trying to cover every genre immediately. All three are great choices and there really isn’t a wrong answer here.

FeynDoKeizaal

I was tempted to vote for JJK or FMAB. But my hands moved towards AoT... its inevitable

HalcyonSerenade

Let's be careful here -- Kaye reads these comments, and I know you didn't say much specific, but I think we should be careful about sharing opinions about seasons and endings and stuff before she has a chance to have her own opinion about it. 🙂

Russell Gambardella

I've been loving your Frieren reactions, your ability to empathize with the characters and become immersed in the story is going to make the journey through so many shows special!

george

i mean JJK is really good. these are my personal ratings for it. jjk probably has the most enjoyable characters in my opinion..i love them all

Vincent

Recent, popular ones: Witch Hat Atelier, Smoking Behind the Supermarket with You, or DanDaDan since they are new and popular enough to draw in views. Classics: Cowboys Bebop, Samurai Champloo to maybe stand out from the current reacter sphere with some ones that long time anime fans would like to see My personal, unpopular preference would be Baccano! Cuz i think Kaye would enjoy the story and its a short limited series so she doesnt have to commit to a ton of episodes, but I doubt that draws in the views.

Christian Groskopf

Attack on Titan will be an experience like no other!

diesel

i know AoTs probably winning this, but jjk after would be awesome!

Jonathan

AoT is a bit intense for me, but it's really popular. I wonder if part of the voting will skew towards it since your Frieren reactions are so chill and AoT is... not chill. :)

Papa

With your media literacy Aot is the show for you. You notice the details which are everything in Aot

Chris

I, like many others, would argue that all three are basically must-watch if you are interested in the medium. There is no wrong answer here.

Timbeaux

Spy x Family is a perfect blend of action and comedy (and romance) it’s honestly a perfect feel good show. That being said Apothecary Diaries is my favorite anime of the last 5 years!!!

Thomas Yang

Might I suggest Haikyuu , a volleyball anime or even something like Clean Freak! Aoyama-kun which is a funny soccer one. Another one would be A Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity.

Chris pastore

AoT will be one of the best pieces of fiction youll ever witness across all mediums.

Teiph

Big agree with Brandon's comment and seconding the recommendation for Apothecary Diaries I'll also add Made in Abyss to the list of shows I see you enjoy a lot!!

requirk

Just throwing it out there but I think you might really like Vinland Saga as a potential option for the future. I've been really enjoying your Frieren reactions as it's in my top 3 anime and I love that you seem to really appreciate the neatly woven emotional callbacks and questions the show poses about loss, life, and connections to others. Vinland Saga deals with a lot of that too and finds a really good balance between iconic characters, engaging story, metaphorical questions, and the emotional tether. I'm probably a bit biased since Vinland is my favourite anime, but it's the one I recommend most to people that are new to anime as it narratively conforms pretty closely to a lot of popular non-anime historical dramas. Alternatively, Mob Psycho is similar to Frieren for emotional character development but leans more heavily into the comedy side and really nails the balance between having you crying one second and laughing the next. Loving the reactions anyway and hope maybe one of these sneaks into the list later down the road!

Marty D

I recommend Sword Art Online

oppieheimerdinger

Yeah, you can’t go wrong picking aot, epic story

Drift3r

Attack on Titan (AoT) hands down. I love Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood (FMAB) but AoT is just on another level. That being said, if you do plan to watch FMAB later on in the future I would highly recommend the English dub. Normally I'm a English subtitle and Japanese voice acting (VA) snob but the English VA for FMAB is really, really good and iconic. Lastly, Chainsaw Man is better then Jujutsu Kaisen (JJK). Please consider watching Chainsaw Man before JJK. It's only 12 episodes long for season 1 and the post season movie is the best anime movie of 2025. Of course, Japanese VA is the only way to go with Chainsaw man and AoT. P.S. Someone else mentioned Apothecary Diaries and I would also recommend that series along with Violet Evergarden.

Little Wing

They're all great series. I recommend *Dandadan* and *Spy Family*.

Lili

its clear that jujutsu will lose, hope ull repoll at a later time when you've come far into or finished another series

Soushi Typhon

I personally don't like any of these generic action animes, but they will give you viewers which I guess is good for your channel... If I had to suggest some other ones for next time: 86, Psycho-Pass or The Summer Hikaru Died

HalcyonSerenade

I saw a few comments earlier that were kind of spoiler-leaning in terms of saying stuff like "the show falls off at season so-and-so" and whatnot, but I don't see them anymore... including a comment of my own where I felt like I said a bit too much. So shoutout to the mod(s) monitoring things and making sure Kaye only sees info that preserves her own impressions 🙂 Whoever "they" are 😉

John Masteller

Huge +1 for Violet Evergarden to be on the list at some point. I cannot praise that one enough.

Conzi

How is FMA seeped in neoliberalism? Genuinely curious.

Shincha

I like all of options you provide. I would recommend Spy + Family to you, if you are looking for the other consideration

Brandon

Three good anime, literally can’t go wrong with any of them

EHelström

It really isn't. I can only assume there is a bit of a misunderstanding of the term neoliberalism. Neoliberalism favors a free market, FMA features a totalitarian militarist government. Given how authoritative the (I don't want to use the term since I don't know if Patreon has a problem with it) leader is, I cannot imagine the government allowing a free market. That said, I'm in agreement with the Vincent in not liking these choices. That's mostly because I've seen so many battle shonen over the decades that I've sort of lost interest in them. I need more than fights. I've seen all of these (FMAB and AOT multiple times) and no longer have any desire to rewatch them.

Asa Boyes

Id definitely agree with Zclipse, for starting out your anime journey you arent going to go wrong with any of these picks. Though I do hope to see Kaye check out Vinland Saga or some of the Ghibli movies like Mononoke and Spirited Away

Conzi

I am not the biggest action Shonen person ever, but I think FMA and AoT have a lot more going for them than action. Some of the more philosophical and emotional shows imo.

Ruyko 6

Vinland Saga might be the best story ever created, just sayin for the next poll ;)

Turner

The only reason I would suggest JJK over the others is because it's shorter. AoT is very long, which is why I would recommend it last, even though it's up there on the Mount Rushmore of anime. But FMAB is the GOAT. I guess I'm saying you can't go wrong lol

Vincent

Ill give some examples. To be clear though neoliberalism does not just mean free market. Neoliberal ideology focuses on things like individualism, pulling yourself up by your bootstraps, focus on the wellbeing of an imperial core in group (the West) at the expense of a oppressed global out group (the global south). Ill give a few examples for why I feel FMAB is too neoliberal for me to look past. I want to be clear that I dont think this makes FMAB bad, its a show with a great story, world building, magic system, and characters but the neoliberal parts that peek through make it impossible for me to enjoy. (Major spoilers ahead) While Mustang and Reza feel horrible about the war crimes they committed during the uprising, they still participated in them as did the whole of Amestrian state alchemists. They are literally the meme about how american soldiers will annhilate your country then star in a movie about how sad that made them. Reza is a sniper. For me, her execution of ishvalans is far too similar to the IOFs maiming and genocide of Palestinians particularly children. Mustang is in a much worse boat as he burned people alive even non-combatants. You know, like a nazi. He feels bad about this now and wants to make up for it by accomplishing his ultimate goal: become Fuhrer to finally prosecute the state alchemists responsibile for the Ishvalan genocide. Its naive from Arawaka to position this goal as magnanimous. Working thru the system to topple the system does not work. That is textbook neoliberalism. And it is made even clearer that its not possible because initially Ed and Mustang think its the homonculi pulling all the strings but they come to find out the military government higher ups are actually in cahoots with the homonculi and gladly participating so even if Roy became Fuhrer they never would have let him make the state alchemists face justice. There is a scene where Ed mentions to Miles (Ice Queen's right hand) about how the only Ishvalans he has known are violent cuz of his experience with Scar and asks Miles why he wears sunglasses and Miles goes on about how he wants to hide his Ishvalan traits for the sake of assimilation. Ed responds positively to this thinking it is progress but its not. Assimilation is a dog whistle that neoliberals use when talking about migrant populations. They dont want other cultures in their society. They are fine with other skin colors but want one, big monoculture. They see this as a good thing whereas the conservatives dont want any non-whites in their country plus a monocultute, neoliberals think this is the way things should be but its almost as bad. Later Scar meets Miles and asks a similar question. Miles again brings up assimilation and Scar is shocked then says he wishes more of the ishvalans were like Miles which is insane considering what Scar respresents (the war crimes of the past catching up to the Amestrians responsible). Its like if Osama Bin Laden met a Muslim dude working for the CIA and admired him. Its laughable. It is also, again seeped in this "violence is wrong" messaging but that message only ever focuses on the terrorist violence that Scar does, not the violence of the literal fascist state that Miles subordinates himself to. The state that slaughtered his people to take their land. Im aware of when this series was made so im not trying to say that FMAB is a stand out in how it is seeped in neoliberalism. Most major shows were during the early 2000s. Neoliberalism is the status quo form of governance in our society, but FMAB focuses on a fascistic government and the story of how to take it down so the use of neoliberal theory falls very flat to me and feels like a miss fire. Comparatively, One Piece was releasing in the 2000s as well and there are few, if any, parts of that story where you can say it is reinforcing the value of neoliberal principles. Both are about taking down a corrupt, fascistic government. Both are told from the POV of a strong, naive young boy who sacrificed so much. Both have a father who is intimitely tied into the story of the dominant power structure of the world. Both reveal an inner cabal of people controlling the government. However, FMAB says if you get "our" guy in there then this system can be reformed and saved. OP does not. There is no reforming the world government. Last thing and this isnt really a neoliberal issue but it is a point about the show thats always made me squirm: FMAB feels so very precariously close to antisemitism. The symbol of the homonculi is a star of david with a dragon surrounding it. The homonculi are the secret cabal that control the government and they are beholden to an ancient being brought forth by a former white slave named Hohenheim. The dwarf in the flask shares his visage and the secret cabal call him "Father". If it isnt clear, he has a lot of features of a jewish person and i think positioning him at the center of the people who truly control the world with the end goal of eternal power is a little yikes. Now I want to be clear, Im not calling Arakawa an antisemite. But the symbolism is so dangerously close to that, its concerning. I might be hyper sensitive to it since it takes place in an aryan nation with a lot of european names and the story delves into the mass, systemic slaughter of a minority group but still. Its a little too close for comfort to me.

Niceduwang

Ik im late but if you are open minded and dont mind something controversial then i highly highly HIGHLY recommend that you watch and react to Mushoku Tensei.

Conzi

I don’t really get the complaint that you can’t change a government from within. We see that all the time with basically every political reform in the world unless it’s a revolution. Spoilers below Plus, isn’t that scene with Scar and Miles when Scar is taking accountability for killing Wenry’s parents? It makes sense to me that he’s happy to see someone from his community who didn’t take that path. I also disagree that the “violence is wrong” messaging is only focused on Scars violence. The whole reason Scar is such an iconic character is that the audience sympathizes with the violence done against him and his people and understands why he wants revenge. A large part of the story is directly about how the violence done against the Ishvalans was an atrocity and trying to find any redemption after doing something so horrible. I think it’s a fair criticism if you think the alchemists should have been held accountable at the end of the story. I kind of would have preferred if Mustang stayed blind. But on the other hand, they did just save the world so I’m a bit more lenient haha. Also, I thought the Star of David callout was interesting so I looked it up and hexagrams have alchemy tie ins. “In alchemy, the hexagram (six-pointed star) represents the reconciliation and union of opposing forces, symbolizing the creation of the Philosopher's Stone and spiritual transformation.” So can probably take the tinfoil hat off for that one haha.

Matthias

FMAB and SNK adress a lot of similar themes but FMAB do it way better and with way more maturity than SNK. But ofc SNK has a lot more hype since it's more recent and a lot of people don't like to engage with stuff that are older than what they started with in specific medium. FMAB still is also show that also does absolutely great in reaction channel when it didn't get the praises internet gave to SNK since it aired a little bit earlier wich shows the absolute quality of the show ( I know it's been first on my anime list but MAL is not something that reach outside of the fandom, I mean hell i've been watching anime for more than 20 years and never used MAL).

reeed

I would like to recommend some shorter shows (12 episodes or less). both of these are in the "slice of life" genre and are feel-good & hilarious: Hinamatsuri Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun Both can be watched on Crunchyroll.

Vincent

Im not really interested in arguing about it. If you like the show then all the best. I hope Kaye picks that one so you can watch her experience it
