Hi friends ✨💛💫

One of my first thoughts in making this channel was,

| I want this to be a community where people can feel 'a part of.’

With all the things happening in the world, I personally crave spaces I feel not just safe but also excited to be in. You each have helped me feel ‘a part of’ in the extraordinary anime community. I want everyone who comes here to feel that way, rather than attacked or made to feel ‘other’ ever.

The other day, I became really saddened when my brother told me about some disagreeing, hateful comments he’d seen under my first ever poll.

I always welcome discourse, discussions, and disagreements that are healthy, constructive, and based in kindness. Everyone has bad days and says things in the heat of the moment. We’re all human. That being said, hate is never welcome or tolerated here. Hateful comments will be deleted and even reported case-by-case. I never want the space to add to the toxicity of the world, but rather to the love, understanding, and connection in it.

I have a few mods in here helping review comment sections. They will remove potential spoilers and comments that become overly negative or hostile toward other people. Disagreeing about a show or sharing diverging opinions is all good by me, so long as it’s mindful and respectful. As the community grows, I’ll continue to add more mods to help keep up with everything.

Thank you for helping make this such a fun community where we can hang and talk about anime and life! It’s been one of the most wonderful things in my life ever, and I owe that to all of you lovely humans here with me. 💛

All my love,

Kaye ✨💛💫

Hey Kay, discovered you about a week ago from due to the YouTube algorithm recommending your Frieren reaction and I was just so captivated by your way of reacting and your personality that I felt the need to support you here as well! I couldn't agree more with your post/comment above. I know that different anim fandoms can be.... difficult, especially when arguing about their favorite show. I really hope that doesn't discourage you and I hope your community respects your statement and wishes. It's the first time I'm somewhat active in a youtubers community and you still being relatively new excites me a bit, cause I feel like I'm part of this growing experience. Please keep up the great work! I can't wait for you to get into the later episodes/seasons for Frieren and Demon Slayer and hopefully many more animes down the road.

I think I saw a few such comments on that poll -- I couldn't see them a day later, so presumably they were pruned. Most of them were directed towards action shōnen shows as a category, and the sentiment seemed to be that they were upset that those were the only options on the poll. I think I know where that sentiment comes from, because I've expressed similarly "spicy" opinions in the past. (Even nowadays I frequently take jabs at some shows like Naruto and Bleach, but over the years I've learned to be careful about clarifying that those are in jest, not genuine hate.) I've been thinking about doing a small write-up about why some people feel that way towards those shows, but avoiding the blanket hate. I won't be naming specific tropes or shows of course, because that's up to Kaye to spot those patterns herself and form her own opinions. Just very broadly why some shows seem to upset people so much. Completely unrelated anecdote: I had a friend who once meant to say "happy to be a part" but instead wrote "happy to be apart" and I had to go through the rigamarole of not sounding too pedantic while also emphasizing that that particular spelling mistake kinda reverses the meaning of the message 😅 Thank you Kaye (and team?) for *not* making that spelling error on an important community post🙏

I love all types of anime and one that is my breath of fresh air, my calming center, my get away from the world anime is Non Non Biyori. Give it a watch even on your own time. It is an anime where nothing important happens and it's beautiful.

Hi!! I'm so glad you found your way here!!! 💫 Your words mean so much, I can't tell you how much I appreciate the support, engagement, and understanding! 💛 This definitely did not discourage me, no worries there. Honestly it was more of just a reminder to me that we all can get impassioned and at times misdirected when defending ourselves and/or the things we love. I'm still new so I don't know all the nuances of the fandom, all I can do is keep bringing the best version of myself that I can to my first-ever experiences to anime and openly listen to what you guys have to say in response. I learn so much from you all every day, even in these instances, and I don't want to change that aspect. I just want the community to remain positive even in disagreements. Thank you again for the comment and for being here!! ✨💛💫

I really appreciate that there was a blend of both v supportive AND eye-opening comments disagreeing (in a loving way) with my poll options. I enjoyed hearing the different ideas + desires ppl had (like you said wanting more options in the future and to keep a blend of genres vs shonen-heavy which I also like to have as well). I was more so focusing on wanting to have theme-heavy/emotional (as well as popular) shows, since I love that kind of stuff personally and I am still new. But I also have trust in your all's opinions of what I would like so I always want that feedback. All in all, as I said in this post, I enjoy when ppl share their opinions and disagreements/different points of view, some the biggest growth moments in my life have been due to ppl feeling differently than me. And that's really the whole point, we can be totally different, disagree, and still coexist and feel 'a part of.' ✨💛💫 [And I enjoyed the anecdote haha I was sure to be careful writing this lol, I love language so wanted to ensure I got this across accurately 💛]

This is beautiful, ty for the rec 💛 A calming center sounds very on par with this post, added it to the list, my friend ✨💫

Kaye‘s reaction channel is the best I have ever seen and I have seen A LOT. I won‘t forgive anyone who is trying to ruin this. That being said, I’m looking forward to whatever you are reacting to in the future.

I hope my post was taken in the context I meant it to be. I meant it to play bith sides of the fence while also letter her know why some of her comments were on the meaner side so she can get an idea of how the anime space works with a lot of the people in it so she isn't caught too off guard. But I also just wanted to pop some ideas in there too. I always believe in constructive criticism. If you have an opinion explain it and give examples and possible ways to improve or help. But sometimes I lose sight of that as im typing an essay

Tucculent

i knew something was gonna happen in the poll comments after the first 2 comments i saw, i personally just voted and dipped. the anime community will always get heated over small things. hope whatever wins is something youll love

All they had to do was ask themselves "what would Himmel do?"

Wild. I only get good vibes from this channel.

Yhea what's sad is that I love shonen but the main "problematic crowd" is often shonen fans (even mose specificly action or action adjacent shonen). I think since in recent years (actually not so recent since i'm thinking about shonens that started around 2010 - 2015 damn that was acutally more than 10 years ago) we got a lot of shonens that got very popular and worked as a "entry point" in anime but a lot of people didn't really used it as an entry point they just experienced one or two thing, refused to engage with medium and decided that the few things they experienced was the best thing ever and all the rest was trash. Wich is really sad because those same people ofte nend up in echo chambers in the anime community, renforcing the idea that they don't need to experience the rest of the medium. And of course every time some one actually try to point out echo chambers all hell break loose. Now to be fair I think people often get really attached to their first something, so a lot of people ofc have really high attachement to their few first anime and such. Adding to that one big weakness of a lot of anime are endings, this is actually tied to how weekly manga serialization work and the facts that a lot of mangakas work like crazy every week to get 1 chapter that will be approved by editors and keep the popularity of their work high, so they don't get canceled. With this system a lot of author often loose the path or vision they had for their story and/or often didn't develop an ending at all when they started since they were rushed and crushed every week by the system. This ending problem is especially true in popular shonen serialized in the shonen jump the biggest shonen magazine in Japan from wich comes most of big mainstream new gen shonen anime (and the big three that also have the same ending problem). Hence we often end up with a story that had a great concept but get weaker and more inconsistant in writing and vision as time progress but that is often the first anime of someone. And I think it takes a lot of reflexion and maturity to actually acknowledge that this anime you like is getting worse or that it wasn't that great to begin with and a lot of the people I talked about earlier are not ready for that, it gets even more difficult when you often end up trapped in echo chambers. My first anime ever was saint seyia and I love it to death but it's objectively not that great, It''s very tropy, pacing is awful especially the first arc, the main characters are not that interesting and constantly overshadowed by secondary characters. Most arc are justified by Athena doing the worst, dumbest possible decision always making you second guess if she's really the goddess of wisdom. Most "fights" are just the bronze saints getting crushed for a while before getting a sheer willpower or sacrificial second wind raising their cosmos higher than the opponent and one shotting them, every goddamn time. And yet I still wrote all that with the biggest smile on my face thinking about how in my ttrpg campaign I'm having with my friends I'll find a way to give them techniques (I'm doing a wuxia/xanxia system I designed for them) that are references to the saints attacks. My first manga was naruto and a new naruto manga has been announced and I'm hyped as fuck but also the end of naruto is absolute trash, and if some one tells me "Naruto sucks kaguya and the otsutsuki is dumb and horrible" I'll say "well a lot of the manga is great but yhea I get that the end can really sour the whole experience." and not "you're just dumb naruto is greatest peak of fiction ever written and wash all the anime you like" (like a certain type of fans of certains shows that are a little to presents in the anime community right now). Also I love seinen, shoujo and jo-sei and 95% of the community for those type of anime is just great.

EHelström

I didn't see much hate in the comments. At least, I've seen much worse elsewhere. Which is still kinda sad. I think she's doing a good job cultivating a good community. But you'll always need some moderation to catch the occasional spoiler/bad apple.

aloekayeANIME

You guys make me tear up 🥹 This is SO incredibly kind, really I appreciate your comment so much and I'm glad that you enjoy being a part of the community💛 The comments weren't even directed at me, there was just some back and forth in one thread that became overly hostile towards each other. I'm a reddit kid lol I know it happens, ppl get heated, but I'm never going to allow harassment or hate on the channel. I'm excited you're also excited for new, upcoming series reactions! From what I've seen so far, now I just want to watch everything ever haha. Ty again for being here!! ✨🙌💫

aloekayeANIME

I appreciate this from both of you 💛💛💛 The one thread we saw wasn't even directed at me, it just became an overly heated 'difference in opinions' on shows, directed at each other. Otherwise I mainly just saw some feedback about what ppl want to see for next shows, which I always love seeing your opinions on things! Disagreements welcome, hate is not. I'm so glad to hear you both feel the community has good vibes, that's really all I wanted to reinforce with this post. ✨💛💫

aloekayeANIME

I said this above in some other replies, but the comment thread I'm talking about wasn't even directed at me, it digressed from the actual poll topic itself too. It was just a few commenters that became overly hostile towards each other actually. I totally agree with how you put this, and I hope you guys know I am the same way. Disagreeing with and challenging me is welcome. I want to hear what you have to say, it makes me a better creator and person (so long as it's constructive and from a place of love 💛). I was happy to see ppl giving me their thoughts, I never take any of that personally. ✨ Actually to me it shows that you guys care enough to tell me your opinions bc you love the channel

aloekayeANIME

I actually hadn't seen your comment, but just went back and I absolutely get your pov, ty for taking the time to explain it in there 🙌💫 I am still new so these perspectives do help me shape the channel in such good/well-rounded ways. My take on it becoming too shonen-heavy is once I do the next poll for a fourth show (either after Frieren or maybe sooner depending on how I'm feeling adding this third show in Nov), the fourth one will be a non-shonen. Maybe even patreon-exclusive. Also I want to react to a movie for patreon on here too so two more poll will be coming your way in the next coming weeks. ✨ Ty for being here and for giving me your thoughts!! You guys have made this channel what it is and I'm forever grateful 💛

aloekayeANIME

This was really great context and info, ty for giving me more perspective in these areas (so much I still have to learn is what I'm understanding from this haha). ✨ My brother was saying something similar bc he's up-to-date on the One Piece manga I want to say? He was like there's so much filler some eps of the show bc of the manga not being done something like that. And Naruto was his very first anime when we were younger (and Dragon Ball Z a little after), so I think he has similar thoughts ab it but he still says it's one of his all-time favs etc. All this to say I know this fandom stretches far and wide more than I even can comprehend. I'm just having a good time reacting for the first time and I'm glad you guys are enjoying it as well! But super helpful tysm for the comment Matthias!! ✨💛💫

Dingo

Yup yup. Thanks, my original comment on your poll is a but confusing so glad you understood it. And by no means am I anything I described. Idc what people watch as long as they enjoy it. I think where me being objective becomes blurry is when I do really enjoy watching others react to what I love and see how they react it some sort of validation that I have good tatse lol. But yeah im here for it all. You haven't named or watched what I would think is a bad or controversially bad anime.
