A lot of people seem to not know that 737s actually flipped completely upside down 3 separate times with no explanation until the third one by complete luck self corrected and allowed for landing. The plane was never grounded despite the first 2 events killing everybody. This was before cell phones. Look up 737 inverted accident, or 737 rudder inversion accidents.

The very way in which we interact with machines now is being increasingly arbitrated by this whole idea of rent seeking. Charging *access* to actual machines is now far more profitable than making a machine worth anything because it costs zero dollars to create lockout software on a screen. The proliferation of screens as user interfaces is, in my opinion, entirely intentional because it distances the operator of a machine from its actual function, allowing for the creation of a proprietary market of access. You cannot do this same form of access with mechanical technology, it just doesn’t work. Several hundred people died because some needle dick shithead thought it would be a good idea for a computer to have the ability to override the pilot. To me, that’s some insane Skynet hell future shit, the same way with that lady who’s Tesla backed her into a lake and the stupid push button latches instead of a mechanical door handle trapped her goofy ass in there and she ate it. Fuck the internet, fuck computers, and fuck Silicon Valley and their whole model.
