1) I definitely think algorithms and bots are being used to program social media users, 2) this whole insinuation as communication thing feels like a way to get people who are slightly sympathetic to make the cognitive leaps that will make them more sympathetic (while simultaneously covering for the fact that their brains are broken) and 3) the dumb sense of humor I think is a sign of programming (see point 1). The mind rejects new ideas like a virus but if you can get someone to laugh, that suppresses the immune response. Conversely, a messed up sense of humor indicates that some basic mental concepts have been radically messed with. This is all part of my galaxy-brained set of theories that I like to call The Boundary Problem.

The difference is that earlier social media websites were just interested in the signals users generated in the course of interacting in and with the real world. Musk is using X to create the real world the user interacts with and responds to as well.

Well where i live, millages for schools actually pass with 80% of the vote. I usually vote in those elections and i usually leave the presidency blank if it's a presidential year. So i get all these texts saying "We noticed you voted 11 times in the past x years, can Kamala count on your vote by Tuesday" etc. It's a secret ballot but they used data to peg me as a lib, so i feel like this time the only way to make a point is to refuse to show up at all. That's the only way to leave a public record that says "you lost me at genocide."
