My issue with the notion of UFOs as psyops is that most folks don’t take the phenomenon seriously. Those most interested in it are largely right wing types with a serious distrust of the government. So like a psyops for what? To distract paranoid types from what? I’ve heard the idea it’s to garner more funds for the Pentagon but seriously all that’s needed there is to point to Russia or Terrorists. I figure if anything the whole UFO thing goes like this, something weird occurs maybe legit maybe not, government shrugs it off, most other people do too. Those who don’t start poking around and find nothing until a handful of shady folks figure out a way to make money from it. Then a lush narrative is formed. If anything people love a good story and pay handsomely for it. For the UFO folks that story purports to be real.

Great episode as a whole but I'd like to focus in on the theological discussion at the beginning. Two things: 1. Marxism Leninism Mao Zedong thought is already the true religion so you're probably covered there. (Best bet of an afterlife is ancestor worship by your descendants. Unless future humans are able to recreate us somehow after we die) 2. We already live in the only hell that exists. We're made to work and watch as the ruling class torments the global proletariat, destroys the planet and ecocides our beautiful plant and animal friends.

It was an online module we do individually just a 20 min video and no feedback forms after watching. Half was about antisemitism tropes and how those “overlap” with antizionism. and part 2 was about Islamophobia, anti Muslim discrimination, and anti Palestinian discrimination. Felt like a forced attempt at “both sides” after the antisemitism part. The trainings were just released yesterday and aren’t due for all employees until February but I hope for/will get involved with any pushback.

One of the only takes I’ve disagreed with is the ADA lawsuits. There may be legal ambulances chasers, but those suits are some of the only ways to actually get businesses to be compliant, and people deserve access. The real issue is probably that small businesses deserve extra support to meet compliance, but having ADA standards met is a good thing to advocate.
