In good faith I take this as a good faith question my friend. But first I again really recommend you Matts episode above. It is a really fun listen, even if you don't know that much about the UK or Europe. If you want a funny talkshow Trueanon is pretty good (they did a good job with the rest of this episode). But Ghost-Boy's stuff is something different. He puts some real effort into his episodes and series. (Compare a reaction channel to a video essay channel.) To your question: - I don't know that much about this Zohran guy (I was ignoring the hype from afar, but he seems to be pretty good for the US. You can be the judge of that) ..but Keir surely is not a great "voice for socialism in the west" - To even call labour a socialist party is at best a bit silly since new labour - The biggest "socialist" party in Europe currently is the SPD in Germany (at least if you look at membership numbers) ..I write "socialist" because like labour they are more left then the Democrats in the US, but effectively still not not very socialist - Brace may technically be right about Keir being "the only socialist leader of a non coalition government". (..Spain currently has a coalition Government but very much on the left and their government is probably ideologically more socialist than the current labour government in the UK). But the point is pretty mute anyway, because the UK only had a handful coalition governments ever. Actually there was only one coalition government since WW2 (this was during the 2010s). So pretty much everything Brace claims concerning Starmer and th UK is at least very close to BS. (..but at least he presented it with conviction) Liz as usual did a bit better. She got it right with "criminalizing everyone in support of Palestine" ..but I think it would actually help if (more) countries would recognize Palestine. (Even though this should have happened 1.5 years ago when it should have become obvious to even mainstream people/politicians what Israels military strategy in Gaza is extinction.)
