Your dog is innocent, I won’t stand for this slander, I will be defending them tonight your honor

Emioly

Can we get an update on this cuz I think they all r in jail for bad stuff now

Meh

Lmao sometimes yall need a, uh, nerd consultant. Brace called cyberpunk a board game - it was a tabletop rpg like d&d. It was also created as a dystopian future based on the creator’s observations of the present reality he was observing as a Black man in the ‘80s. When you look at it with that understanding it is actually very cool & pretty dang accurate. Immediate edit to add: I know yall were possibly referring to the 2077 video game fan base being salivating fools who think this future is a good thing, but Mike Pondsmith (the creator) deserves the credit he’s due.

D G

Just for Brace... Apropos....sounds like "app" + "rup" (as in RUPture) + "poe" (as in Edgar Allan). It means: 1) appropriate; at an appropriate time; opportunely; 2) By the way; incidentally. I've mostly heard it used in the phrase "Apropos of nothing..." where it's used to pointedly indicate a change of subject similar to the phrase "In unrelated news...". However, it also gets used in a sarcastic wink-wink way to (not so subtly) link two subjects in a conversation. E.g. after discussing liars, scammers, a-holes and/or douche-nozzles, a person might say "... Apropos of nothing, have you seen the Trump/Elon foot video?"

I wonder if they cut the dead air out of this one

gemboi

It's 2 min shorter

Aaron Christmas

Reupload by Yung trying to avoid getting targeted at the next pod self-criticism session

Who Cares

Patch notes please

shitAss

This is old news

James Murray

ig we're not getting trueanon raw and uncut anymore :(

Michael

modern MLMs are the new trotskyites. I will not elaborate.

Tom Wilkinson

The episode cut out while I was listening to it. Half expected the re-upload to be Brace and Liz praising Gazi's dedication to the revolution. 😛

John Stokes

Actually I commented about this one on the last one so technically first

Charlie Moe

I helped Brace with some research and he shouted me out at the end of the episode which he YC forgot to add

Andrew

last 15 minutes or so were unedited, so rereading lines, apologies for trailing off, etc. nothing crazy, but i appreciate editors a lot more after hearing things uncut

Pug_luvr

Lol, accidental yungchomsky name reveal. I won't tell.

Pug_luvr

Would have loved to hear that.

theSmokingGun

I thought the previous version was fine.

Andrew Irwin

I’ve been waiting for this episode

Tomas Vall

bout to say that the episode had a weird eerie feel to it without the edits. like i was about to witness some trueanon creepypasta

Gary Alexander

I noticed the last version was off and didn't mind, but I appreciate them wanting the best version they have out there.

Robert Hallam

Liz, the piece of furniture you were groping for is a 'Chaise longue'.

Robert Hallam

In the UK motorcyclelists wear leather gauntlets.

Carine

Pretty sure The Wing has reopened....

K Barlas

They really need to start streaming their struggle sessions

Dan Greene

Comrade Yung has been exiled to Colorado

Gavin Farrell

Digging the classical inspired music. Decent ep too.

Kasz

That's a lot of audio foreskin

Michael Coutts

This is what I imagine being with Bob Avakian is like.

Kasz

How is this any different than Proud Boys and how is this clown any different than Enrique Tarrio? If this is the best the FBI can do, this is hilarious.

walmart ed hopper

Liz is right that a lot of this is more just plain heartbreaking than funny/cringe/politically interesting

Gorgeousgeorge

I love you guys but I get lost in so many episodes. Please consider (for us dumb folks) elaborating a little more when using “this, its, that”

Woke Batou

Just observed a very similar dynamic unfold here in Colorado within a new org called Arm Your Friends. One of their local coordinators, who honestly sounds like they could've had ties to Black Hammer, started slamming a PNW left gun group as "colonizers" and even claimed that white people alive now are worse than slave owners because "they know better." Anyways, Arm Your Friends kicked them out shortly thereafter.

Char Kelly

Liz talking about cults at the end!!!! Also re: leftist text +changing language +doing cult shit, plz do an episode on re-evaluation counseling

will michel

ah brace, i love you man. your inability to pronounce words is endearing as shit

Aubrey Frantzen

What's up with general anco? I know hes the one who fucked up the land deal. I saw someone who claimed to know him pre-joining that he was not mapuche but actually a white guy

Yevka D

The pics look like the red rock area ne of Denver by Lyons

CC

So ready for this one

Mark Owen

Listening while WeWorking in my Co-op's old building in the former CHAZ/CHOP.

leedo

Forgot to edit the end?

Leo Yuan

But is this org an op?

CM

TrueAnon Reparations Corps when?

A S

It isn't the best the can do, it's the most they need to do.

zach

quote from Gazi: "The Proud Boys formed in my comments section [on Youtube]... So the two organizations that have come out of my poom-poom is the Proud Boys, which is the most vibrant white nationalist organization out there, and Black Hammer... I birthed twins, and they both bad bitches."

zach

Proud Boys also adopted Uhuru as a slogan to make fun of Gazi

Vincent Utah

This kind of ties into what Matt Christman has been saying about capitalism absorbing everything that opposes it. I mean if it was able to assimilate fascism into its arsenal, why not all of the hippie dippie, post-radical cult shit that came out of the 1970’s and later? Maybe that’s why the cult rhetoric is now mixed with this market jargon and strategies?

Dan Greene

Brace Belden: the only good American Maoist

00000000000000000000

True, but only because he's literally the only American Maoist.

Playdoh

Sick username!

BruceInAdelaide

This whole outfit wreaks of 'psyops', MK-Ultra, gaslighting, misdirection, COINTELPRO crude deep state provocations etc etc and of course they choose to base their style on the most half baked ideas and then turbo charge them! Just re listen to "Snitch City" and "Gretchen". No wonder the right love to hold fake left cults up as an example! This outfit just plays into fascist militias and feeds chaos and anxiety for the Deep State. (Yesterday i was commented to by some poor lost soul , who looked very good in hats, and probably without, whose avatar was very Symbionese Liberation Army . )

Dan Greene

Unfortunately ive seen nearly every left wing group ive known well eventually devolve into maybe not full-blown cults, but into endless wars of personal "branding." Sure, it's easy to blame "ops" and "feds," and they certainly are a part of it. But the bigger problem is that reliance on the Internet is a terminal disease to any organizing effort. To what extent ops need to be involved to derail your average leftist project is just to pour fuel on the flames, or just to stand by and watch.

Dan Greene

It was actually in far west Colorado, near the Utah border. An extremely rural and quite conservative area.

Kasz

This is why labor organizing works. When the focus and demands are material and not abstract, it's harder to derail a group or paint them in an antisocial light. And the leverage actually makes rich people terrified in all the right ways.

BruceInAdelaide

"to derail your average leftist project is just to pour fuel on the flames, or just to stand by and watch." i agree!

Jessica S

👆I second that “agree” good stuff.

Jessica S

YES. (Said in the way of Liz or Brace when someone says something really good “Yessss, YESSSSSS!” Lol. I love it.)

Jessica S

That’s so funny - my husband has a space at the WeWork in Bellevue but had a meeting last week in Capitol Hill. He said “I’ll be working in the CHAZ!” but I thought he was joking. I guess he really meant it! Lol!

a clash of purple

Well, if you're talking about leftist groups in the imperial center, yeah. But there's a huge difference between, like, Lyndon LaRouche and, say, the PKK. Also, I guess you don't count trade unions as "left wing groups," but there's tons of unions even in America that have not degraded.

rolfesam

Idk whats with clowning on dual power, the idea of building left institutions seems at least as worthwhile as making a podcast

Yevka D

I literally live in Mesa county how embarrassing

Dean Watson

Assimilate isn’t as good a word for this as create.

Dean Watson

They need to have opperman back on to talk about the SLA he did a great show

Isaiah Agojo

I used to be friends with Chief Suh, but we lost contact as they got deeper and deeper into BH. I saw how BH started appealing to a few people in my internet circles. And then I start see my friend in Hammer City videos and BH Stem Cell tiktock. Can lead me to receipts of them believing themselves to be a victim of human trafficking?

BruceInAdelaide

yes, as a school boy they always seemed weirdly inauthentic. even before the left papers from across the pacific the following week!

BruceInAdelaide

i just have to say out loud, firstly i love the empathy that so many have shown for the rank and file of Hammer as victims BUT on reflection my views on cult fodder is that they are sadly pre damaged broken human beings. AND as to the 'good things' Hammer supposedly projected, they did it in a manner that should scream inauthenticity.

a clash of purple

When it comes to the type of people cults recruit, I think it depends a lot... it's also difficult to know anything for sure about cults for certain because I'm sure that all the most successful ones are fronts for various espionage and national security organizations. There were LaRouchites in the Reagan administration, Falun Gong and the MEK are CIA operations, Brace and Liz talked about Colonia Dignidad in the Spider Network series, even the Manson Family were fucked up guinea pigs for MKUltra experiments. If a cult gets someone in their power, if the victim isn't already damaged and vulnerable, then the cult will break them as part of their recruitment. In hindsight, it's difficult to tell whether someone was messed up in some way even before they joined the cult or if the cult remolded them to become something they never would have been otherwise. Cults definitely have the power to brainwash people into becoming radically different--consider the Yazidi kids kidnapped by Islamic State who were then rescued and returned to their families only to try and smother their baby siblings because they had internalized Islamic State's hatred for the Yazidi.

K Barlas

Pretty sure they're not clowning in dual power, I think they're making fun of BH for using it in a way that sounds wrong

hannah mihulka

Luckily, the Uhuru org/whatever the fuck it is in my city was labeled pretty cult like by trusted organizers. BUT it's fair to say shit like that and black hammer seem pretty salient and appealing for young "radicals" and I feel pretty bad for them!

Causman

Omg I used to watch his vids on Facebook back in '16. He would say some inflammatory stuff which I thought was kinda funny. I m kinda shocked to hear him covered on here. Not surprised he's a user.

Ethan Hunt

Black Hammer is likely an op. Kevin Rashid Johnson says as much in this essay: https://rashidmod.com/?p=2797 "As one comrade stated to me upon reading OSWT, “If Gazi ain’t on the FBI’s payroll, he’s missing out on an opportunity.”" Black Hammer also made this tweet: https://i.redd.it/m5o5yr848lx61.jpg In case it gets taken down, it says, "We personally want to say rest in pi$$ to #colonizer kkkarl marx. Marx's ku klux kkkommunist #manifesto has created a generation of kkkrackkka leftists who think they're on the side of Colonized peoples while lining up to be the first to genocide, enslave and kill us." Obvious op.

BruceInAdelaide

Of course, anyone kidnapped into a cult like the hideous Colonia Dignidad (they gave this boomer nightmares when i was teenager) or the scum called IS/ISIS/Daesh was not being considered when i made my earlier very broad generalisation. Yes, the already 'pre damaged' will likely emerge from cults like Hammer far more damaged. The originally Mao-oid MEK with it's own version of cult of personality heavily drawn from the Stalin cult are also a good case in point.

BruceInAdelaide

the big "BUT" here is that anyone who has any idea of what the working class leaders in the US looked like in the 1930s or 40s, or how malcolm x or martin luther king dressed in the 1960s, would realise that the Hammer leaders looked like they were lost Cosplay or LARPers looking for COMIC-CON. No mass leader(ie Harry Bridges) of the organised working class ever dressed like a Cosplay meme. If you at any time found the Hammer images inspirational or sympathetic, the good news is it is not to late to own your illness and get help!

Daniel Martínez González

I knew about this guy back when Elvis the Alien did a video on him about 4 or 5 years ago in the era of anti sjw dunking and certainly he looked like a nutcase, still I didn't give enough importance since these kind of videos usually tried to overlook the ideological or actual messages and suck the context out to maximize impact and therefore views. But holy cow I didn't foresee it would become this shitfest. Quite funny he changed his name from a more occidental christian to a more african one lol. Must weighted on him a lot.

BAM

Honestly, having never heard tale of this person, listening to this episode was like reading a redacted report in which a bunch of information that appeared necessary was absent or just left out. It’s strange; there’s so much background that I feel like I didn’t have to make sense of this ‘movement’ if one can call it such. Like if it is a cult, is Marxism its ‘belief’? If it is a political org why is it talking about Kanye West? Etc.

Michael Celeste

this man must have gowron eyes because he hungry for GLORY

J

Getting called “colonizer and ex-member [of PSL]” in one of their polemics is unfortunately my biggest achievement in the movement

Lojban Chauvinist

What happened at 109:30? What Liz says comes out of nowhere, like something was cut from the recording

Woke Batou

Welp this just got more relevant. Great ep btw

Scout

im not kidding dont listen to this episode when ur feverishly sick bc i managed to convince my white self thst i was now black and part of black hammer and currently patticipating in the livestream brace was descriving. i thought i had turned on my dog who was sleepin at the foot of my bed and she was being tried in court for her racial crimes and needed to pay up. so scary aaahhh!!!!!

tMinozaJ

I love the little tidbit that they specifically mention that they're trying to copy The Shade Room in the strategy doc, and also they just killed someone today damn
