We take a look at the recent spate of “anomalous health incidents” the lyin' snakes of America are calling Havana Syndrome. Laser guns? Sonic weapons? Fakey-fakeos? We decide.

Brace talking about Mexican nazis before it was cool

D G

The phrase "Nothing burger" has been replaced by "There's no there there"... one of the stupidest meme phrases I've ever had to hear repeatedly.

I have the same thing on tall buildings. Also ever since I was a kid. It’s definitely normal

Kasz

🆒

Zalex

100% Liz fell to her death in her last life. Do a child past lives episode! Read Jim Tucker.

Andy

What next? Y'all gonna claim Trip Hop isn't real?

Emily Carcerano

Yeah, I've got Havana Syndrome. Havana Beer Syndrome, amirite

Jessica S

Fakey-fake, fo sho.

Titivilis

One of my most vivid childhood memories was on a bridge over the grand canyon. I vividly remember imagining how fun it would be to just fall, and then, you know, realizing how that would end.

Sick dude

Havana propaganda syndrome.

Titivilis

Have always assumed that there has to have been at least some significant work on ultra high frequency lasers (like x-rays and higher), since hypothetically you could target people through walls and shit, and the effect wouldn't be visible. I don't know how big a rig you'd have to build to shoot someone with, like, gamma rays (at a minimum you need a substantial energy source), but the upside is that if you could build it (I dunno how realistic that is) you could set it up pretty fucking far away. After that all you need is a good targeting mechanism, but that's gotta be easy as fuck these days.

A S

Huh, so you think the Cubans are too backward and primitive to have their own MKULTRA type stuff? Typical. I for one, welcome our new Cuban overlords.

William

Fucking underdog story of the millennium here - the rich near-trillion dollar a year team from across town gets defeated by the ragtag group of commie-bois

Clay Perry

I have the same "vertigo" thing as Liz

masha

also "High Place Phenomenon" - just looked it up because I've experienced this before too and could not quite describe it

Olen Koira

havana bad diarrhea sesh

saaffie

Same thing with heights, Liz. I'm always wanting to jump. Have to stay back from the railings.

Rhod

Heart FM has exactly the same effect on me.

Salt M. Bank

All the discussion of spies and diplomats got me wondering… is there a meaningful difference between a spy and a diplomat? Or are most diplomats spies?

Isaiah C

Calling in sick to work because of Havana syndrome

Alejo

Waves traveling through air attenuate. To have a weapon that can cook someone's brain from a distance you'd have to output huge amounts of energy that would ionize the atmosphere between you and your target

tyler

Grateful Dead rock! you just lost a subscriber!!!!!

Kasz

People don't know this but there is a Havana Syndrome vaccine. It's already available, comes in a convenient 9mm oral applicator and is 100% effective.

DumbDumDumbDumb

Two types of vertigo, one comes from rocks in your ear tubes, other from fucking with the balance part of your brain. Either one sucks ass

gen~

not the otessa moshfegh slander

Bent Mind

Liz you don’t have vertigo. Just straight up classic Freudian fear of heights.

Jack

Liz maybe go skydiving

gen~

i see/hear/validate u, but i still dont buy it. not enough evidence

last summer I took two hits of acid and starting having a really bad trip, so I got my buddy to drive me around in attempt to calm me down, and I had the exact gang stalking experience Brace described. Thought every car around me was boxing us in, trying to get us to pull over

Steven P Schiesser

The CIA is being Gangstalked! Hilarious! The World's biggest Gangstalkers are afraid someone is reverse fucking them! The predator has becime the prey! Muh ha ha ha ha ha!

DanielDragon

I’m not a beach, you’re a beach!

Modokk

Glad to see you're doing a show about this. I'm all ears. BTW, I hate the new color scheme! Pink, seriously?

Daniel

whats the problem with pink

Marston Bicks

I hate this show bc between zevon and arrested d your non sequiturs have contained the gist of like 5 conversations I had this week

Demented Avenger

Lemme get this straight. There's some kind of weapon that the US government doesn't have and can make spooks get headaches at a distance? That's no syndrome. That's fucking cool.

Modokk

It makes the picture look super faded and hard to discern plus I was partial to the classic which shouted "TRUEANON". Truly branded i.e. The new look could be anybody.

Playdoh

What Liz described with the staircases is the creatively-named "High Places Phenomenon". Before it was known by some writers as the "CALL OF THE VOID" 😧 Working theory is that it's actually the brain sort of creating a self-reinforcing feedback loop, you think about jumping and how bad that would be, are frightened by it and likely therefore take a step back or do something else that would prevent you falling (or jumping in front of a train and other scenarios where people experience similar thoughts/feelings). There might be some similarities/crossover with "cute aggression" and the intrusive thoughts people sometimes have about hurting animals/children etc. where those are actually a way to regulate *positive* emotions and also serve as a feedback loop to teach your brain (Imagine doing "x" > it makes you feel bad > DONT DO "X" is reinforced). Postpartum depression can cause similar thoughts/feelings but no clue if that's something independent of this.

Titivilis

The whole point of lasers is they go straight as fuck, bro. People bounce lasers off the moon and shit. The point of a gamma radiation gun wouldn't be to cook a person's brain either, it would be to give that person 18 different kinds of brain cancer at once.

Frederick Von Drasek

...they should quit their whinin'. Why do you think god invented tin foil hats?

carl

they need a balsam specific

Todd

I think Liz is right and it is something the CIA is doing.

Cale

Call of the void

Torgeir Tannenwald

Havana Syndrome is a statistical anomaly. Hundreds of thousands of Americans are working abroad. Only 200 people have reported an illness, and there's no substantive evidence for it. Any explanation save for mass hysteria is pure speculation.

Danny

LRADs were used in cities across America last summer

Kevin Price

Saw a few LRAD’s posted up one the move bomb anniversary March in Philly last year. Deeply spooky machines

Randy Moss

Dead & Co is very good most of the original Grateful Dead is in it they are not all Dead only Jerry and pigpen and a few others are dead

birdo

brother if it isnt Discharge we dont want to hear about it

Randy Moss

Liz and Brace brought it up in the podcast

Ryan Delaney

So cool the government renamed ear infections

Julian

I love them too but I think you’re taking it a bit seriously.

Svid

Hey Brace, has anyone ever said you look like a sexy Andy Milonakis?

JV

don't jump liz!!!

Gavin Farrell

Part of me loves Brace's theory that the Rooskies are playing 5D chess by hitting our CIA freaks and making it seem like they're getting gas lighted, but the other part of me thinks it is probably all bullshit. Senate passed a bill unanimously to pay for medical relief to sufferers of Havana syndrome. I'm trying to find how much money was associated, but MSM media sources aren't giving any actual numbers. CIA and state department employees don't already have gold-plated healthcare plans that would cover this? Weird.

Gavin Farrell

Also, you can't target people specifically through walls. People have seen too many bullshit movies where you can see building occupants from the outside. Most frequencies get blocked by opaque materials. The higher energy stuff that does go through, you need a receiver behind the building in order to get any useful information about what might be in the building.

Gavin Farrell

I think you've nailed it. Also there are obvious political possibilities for focusing on this. We just unanimously passed a bill for relief monies for Havana syndrome sufferers. So it frees up money, and it is also a way to rattle our brains with a healthy dose of fear propaganda vilifying foreign governments we don't like.

Titivilis

If you just wanted to zap someone while they were sleep, you'd just need to know where their bed is. People spend a huge amount of time in fixed positions where they work and live. Figuring out how to point a straight line to target a person would not be especially difficult.

No

My gut tells me there’s some overlap between Havana Syndrome and all the recent stuff about UFOs harassing military planes. Not just because they are both X-Files style plots but because they both involve the government claiming there’s some mysterious external threat that they just so happen to need a lot of money to investigate and counteract…

Zzz

You guys should have guests on your show more often. Lol

Rene Saller

Agreed. She's fantastic--way more interesting and talented than Sally Rooney.

Eric Murphy

While i was deployed in the U.A.E in 2010 were partially trained in a non lethal. High powered "beam" lights that were mounted on our m4s that would emit a light so powerful and disorientating it could cause permanent blindness. My unit was formed after the U.S.S. Cole attack. Coastal Riverine unit

otis

Idk. By this logic, computers would still be room size.

Formal diplomats get a kind of legal immunity that prevents them from the usual consequences of spying if they are caught, those consequences being indefinite detainment and maybe execution. So a lot of countries dress their spies up like diplomats to protect them. There are many exceptions to this, but yes there is so much overlap between these worlds that they are basically the same.

Playdoh

Uh, you should look into how X-rays are generated, and how they handle more dense material like... I dunno, human bone?

Playdoh

Look up high place phenomenon, "Call of the Void" and cute aggression.

Playdoh

Like they said, there is a limited subset of people spending a lot of their time near high-power RF equipment and who-knows-what-else like are installed on some of the US consulates and/or CIA stations. Basically anyone that has suffered "Havana Syndrome" is one of these people or a cohabitating family member of one.

malpertuis

My dad's a civil engineer so as a kid he used to stop and explain bridges to us & I would honestly imagine if I built the bridge I would jump off it. Just staring over the edge as he's explaining.

The Swoletariat

If yall are really interested in knowong about what advanced weapons/tech the state is working on, AlienScientist is the dude to talk to

I have the same thing where I have an urge to fling my body off of staircases or balconies or bridges. im not suicidal but I still picture it

Claire Simon

For the record, everyone in the Grateful Dead is still alive except for Jerry

IHaveHemorrhoids

Uhhhh, no. Brent Mydland and Keith Godchaux are both dead.... Good try though

Claire Simon

I stop keeping track after Pigpen

Katherine Moss

Lol. I always want to jump too. Also, when I’m on the highway I used to think about turning the wheel all the way to the center and spin out. Weird urges. I’ve met a couple people with the same.

Katherine Moss

You know who wouldn’t go to their doctors or contact the military or cops if they’d experienced this as well? Everyone that’s not in the military. ALSO, this can explain why everyone suddenly came forward with these things. Maybe they were afraid to come forward also. So, you could be looking at this backwards. Like this is more like a #metoo thing. With other people coming forward in the military, others would finally feel like maybe they wouldn’t be treated like a crazy person. Oh. Sounds like you’re about to get to my point. That there are tons of citizens. But they’ll never tell. Or I seriously doubt that could happen anytime soon. Just my input on the situation. I think the mass hysteria thing is actually bullshit, and kind of gaslighting. Like, you know they’d target vulnerable populations, people that nobody would believe. I know there’s tons of feds and stuff out in the middle of nowhere in my state doing weird ass shit. Besides the drug stuff they’re constantly doing. Also, the people I’ve known that have talked about gangstalking all think it’s military contractors. Okay. I’m done. Now that I sound totally nuts.
