I was managing a hotel when Shen Yun came to my city. They tried to get like 8 rooms for a few days in exchange for a few tickets to their show. This was during the busy season when rates were already higher than normal. I told them to kick rocks.

My personal Falun Gong experience. I live in a little town outside of Philadelphia. It's a very progressive and diverse place that loves their Fourth of July parade. The Falun Gong march/dances in it for the past couple years. In 2021, their first appearance this young man turns to his parents excitedly and says "This is the world's newest religion!" And all the white progressive people around us oooo and aaaahhh at these mostly Asian dancers like they were folding then into the intersectional part of their brain.

I used to work at an Asian (mostly Chinese) art museum and the local falun gong lady would come in each spring to give us promotional materials. I was talking to my director about it and I then ended up going down a SUPER deep dive into this thing. It's so damn weird.

can attest that Shen Yun ads are so pervasive in NYC that it's natural to assume it's just another Stomp or Times Square Elmo or how there's always 2-3 separate guys in Times Square who say to me "ayo big man do you like comedy", wherein I'm not sure if they're calling me fatass or big like athletic, and Falun Gong you tend to see them across from the UN if you're unfortunate enough to be going up 1st Avenue, and once again you think "well that's just what happens across from the UN". And then you make the grave mistake of watching regular YouTube instead of premium and every once in a blue moon they push an ad for Epoch Times, and if you pay the slightest attention to it, your only reaction is going to be "what the absolute fuck is this freakshow". Because man, they are some weird ads. Anyway as a gutless New York liberal, I can also attest that NY libs are easy marks for this bullshit because, sure, the Chinese govt probably sucks shit and runs roughshod over human rights and whatnot (& hey they can just point to the US and say Get your own house in orde r before you point fingers, and they're right), but the average American's grasp of what that means exactly is so fucking vague, and NYers are such hogs for "ooh exotic culture" slop, that it's no wonder a big syndicate of freaks and strivers can use the cover of culture and human rights etc to smuggle in their hollow earth mole people birds aren't real stuff. To which I say, hey, it's marketplace of ideas

My Chinese friend told me that there were numerous Chinese immigrants to Canada who pretended to be Falun Gong practicioners in order to expidite the immigration process. This was such a problem that the authorities had to become more stringent in the admission of professed Falun Gong refugees.

I live near Cuddebackville and am from the general area. You can drive the mountainy road that Dragon Springs is on and see the fencing. It’s super secretive and protected. Also notable, it’s literally down the road from where Tartaglione lived (before prison of course), also literally down the road from the prison where Bernie Madoff, Ken Starr, Sheldon Silver, and other famous white collar crime boys were (fun fact, the prison used to be a TB sanitarium). I used to live up the street from the Chinese consulate building in Toronto and there would occasionally be Falun Gong protests in front of it where they had huge signs about organ harvesting. There must've been hundreds of yellow ties just meditating in front of this building while metro cops and Chinese consulate security just hacked darts and watched. Very Surreal.

They are very active in my neighborhood in Calgary, always trying to gather signatures on petitions to "End evil CCP" from pedestrians, without really explaining who they are, who the CCP are, etc. It is notable that I also occasionally see anti-Falun Gong graffiti around the city, written in English.

im SOOO excited for this!!! also i loved the start when you guys were describing people it reminded me kf the ghislaine trial!! one time maybe 3-4 yrs ago i went to an art show in auckland new zealand and it turned out to be a falun gong show it was like 30 oil paintings of like gaunt people getting stomped on by ccp officers with medical gear drips or whatever comin outta them like getting organ harvested in dingy huts or warehouses. but they were meditating so they were peacefully enjoying themselves with birds and sunlight while gettin all fucked up from the soldiers. it was just billed as an outdoor art show i thought it'd be like the natgeo photo show or something loool... we have lots of chinese immigrants in NZ and falun gong will often do protests or hand out flyers etc

Visited NYC for the first time ever last month and it really was a trip seeing the Shen Yun ads everywhere! Mate putting me up at his place in Brooklyn even told me how he ended up working for Epoch Times of all people before ever finding out who they were. Had a story written about it and everything. I believe "Body Worlds" (Korperwelten) is the original German exhibition of plastinated cadavers. The Chinese knockoff show was called "The Universe Within". I saw The Universe Within at the masonic in SF in like 2005. I remember making a joke to my friend that the people in the exhibition were executed Chinese prisoners and then later seeing an article that implied that they did in fact use the bodies of executed prisoners, but I don't recall if that was ever actually confirmed or how it was sourced. i saw Shen Yun back in 2018 when my mom got tickets for the whole family. my show was basically the same as you described except where they had your covid skit we had one about how communism ruined china that was highlighted by a giant red eyed karl marx head riding in on a tidal wave and eventually filled the screen. i also googled "how long is shen yun" before it started lol. the show really does suck ass.
