a friend just had his flight delayed out of nashville until 1:30 am. then it got cancelled for refueling and he's still at the airport. airline hell.

CC

5,000 years of GONG

J S

Cum boys know what the gong at 31:15 is for.

J S

You can’t just send gong pics to strangers.

mya

so happy for the gong acquiring. u should have a gong warming party

Mike Malloy

Please wait a few months to go after David Shor, he and I have been planning a Hot Boy Summer and I would hate to have that ruined. I think the Patreon notifications didn't work for this one.

Junior Carmichael

Been waiting for the return of this story. Now the game is really afoot . Edit: Oh good you got the gong. What a banner episode.

Kamran Husain

chomsky bro i get what you going thru rn if need someone to listen i literally already pay to do so

SwagMasta420

Gotta dig deeper on Chomsky there, he is connected to AI because his early work at MIT was developing proto-AI computer language systems for the express purpose of creating nuclear missile launch command centres and computers for the Pentagon. He was directly funded by the Pentagon and isn't apologetic about helping create the systems that would let MAD be a reality. Extremely suspicious that Epstein would bring that up.

Brendan Garcia

It’s so cringey when they make the sports announcers do ad reads for the weird, stupid-ass TV shows that the channel broadcasts.

Sheep

We love the gong! :)

Sarah Ernst

Noam Chomsky *brace noise*

Beeethan

Appreciate the Ethan s/o

Colin Andrews

The island development thing is such a bummer. Great St James is still largely undeveloped and hosts several endangered reptile species. Little St James, while totally developed obviously, still has relatively healthy reef that hosts lots of endangered species also. The dirt run off from the construction activity and all the fuckin rich freaks staying at the resort will surely wipe it out. Fucking sucks, the land should have been returned to the national park.

Jamie

i went to easter dinner at a country club and they served us food from domes, it was the most luxurious meal of my life, if you ever have to opportunity to eat from a dome i highly recommend it

Clay Perry

is pasta louise the spaghetti restaurant

NYCM&AHole

You should call it Dome Gongsky

Marcus

Storm the Capitol board game?

Aaron L

Y’all really surprised they turning little St James into a resort? Isn’t that exactly what happened w Colonia Dignidad? Lmao

Alex Carson

my gf says she hates liz’s old man voice

Char Kelly

Was absolutely waiting for a gong sound to drop in the middle of the pride and prejudice music

Simon

Chomsky seems to fall in the Matt Groening category of intellectuals and celebrities that Epstein collected. Obviously reflects horribly on him that he was socially associating with Epatein but weird that he gets more attention than Burns. Seems mostly motivated by schadenfreude given how many people really hate Chomsky because of his political commentary. it's also a stretch to say that "vote blue in swing states" is a commitment to the Dem project.

David Constine

it’s funny you refer to that section as a Chapo rip off when they literally did the same article last week

Reece Coren

thank you for micing up the gong liz

Josh Woods

imagine getting dinner dome from a butler with an unpronounceable name

Brian Long

Can’t wait for the airline/airport ep

Ian H

I feel like, of all the great quotes from that article, "Homeboy does not cry" is the most underrated.

Char Kelly

Gong noise after the bisexual long COVID quote was iconic

Robert Sayre

Sorry to inform that Chomsky is actually relevant to LLMs, so what you describe is not total BS. I knew him from the Computer Science direction before I knew about "Manufacturing Consent" and all that. Not everyone agrees with him, but it's fair to say he at least advanced the field: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chomsky_hierarchy

Char Kelly

**liz noise** put a lav mic on that gong mallet

Zzz

Very disappointed with Chomsky but not at all surprised. For people trying to justify his meetings w Epstein saying, oh, you don’t know what they’re meeting about, as if Chomsky is gunna be some sort of psychiatrist/ therapist to Epstein or Ehud like wtf there’s no other reason beside some business deal knowing damn well Epsteins rep! Fuck Chomsky 🖕🏼 ps I love Liz’s old man voice

Dean Watson

Just want to say I am pro gong

Dean Watson

Also anecdotal but I know someone who is married to a linguistics professor and she fuckin HAAAATES Chomsky for his linguistic stuff specifically. I forget why; he talked about it too long and I glazed over.

Winthrop

Great episode, very classico, I'm glad Brace got his gong.

Logan

Gong Gang

Logan

Also this episode 🌟🟢🌟

Jaime Christley

I don't know why everyone is mad at Jeffrey Epstein for meeting with Yung Chomsky.

PrinceVocalFry

Re:Liz's comment. The Heat aren't going anywhere without Butler, but right now I'm looking at Bam nearly matching his points with a solid double double and their bench out-scoring the Knicks' by twenty points. 🔥🔥🔥🔥

J.P. McD.

I recently chose a 6 AM flight despite the obvious drawbacks, specifically because of YC’s lesson to us all about flight scheduling

K Barlas

C'moooon, don't make me be a nerd, but manufacturing consent was kinda the first to do it? No shoutout to Parenti?

Gulb

Bummed about Chomsky. I don't figure he was banging kids with Epstein, but just the idea of him jet setting around and having dinner with Woody Allen or whatever seems so personally amoral.

Michael S. Judge

I've never been more onboard with anything, from the very beginning, than I am with the gong

Daniel Rone

The gong sounds beautiful. Feels like the 4th member of the now-complete team.

Daniel Rone

Twas one on the instagram story!

Ant koz

very bizarre, y’all talk about William burns sounding like an Oakland A’s player from moneyball if he’d gone by billy, as A’s gm is humorously named billy bean… well, I grew up with a billy burns, and no shit he played center field for the Oakland A’s for a couple years. Even started for a stretch in 2015 when crisp was hurt, hit 5 homers for the athletics that year.

w

Not the pride and prejudice soundtrack 😭

Sander Emerick

“Why did you ring the gong 🤨” “…because that last sentence was insane” TRUEANON CANCELLATION AVOIDED

J98

If you look up "Gong" on the failing google.org, one of the first results is gong.io

georgia

unbridled glee every time i hear '...the utah county sheriff's department... had a press conference'

Will

LETS GO ITS THE GONG

varis leek

long time listener first time gonger

Callie Bonds

Briahna Joy Gray is not only way more left than Liz, but she's infinitely more intelligent. Replace Liz with the gong, it seems more well informed.

babo

yung gongski

absoluteboi

nah. i dont always agree with Liz (though more often than Brace or even YC), but she's overall less naive than Brie, and generally way more broadly intelligent. she can hold conversations on topics that while boring are very relevant to world affairs like finance and tech, and Brie frankly seems terrified to touch anything other than domestic policies, and, unless she's improved significantly at this, is dogshit when it comes to discussing foreign policy.

Michael Coutts

Love the gong! Brace, you should get a friction mallet for it.

Hunter Ramirez

As an ex-Mormon, I’m still working on shaking my stupid soda addiction lol. I don’t know a single person who is still Mormon that doesn’t drink soda every single day, other than those deeeep into the cult that still refuse to drink caffeine. Also was glad to hear the reference to the Mountain Meadows Massacre. My wife’s great great grandfather was actually the guy who was executed by Utah state in the aftermath (in reality Brigham Young should have been tried for his role in it as well).

Jonathan Kelsey

Intrigued to find out who will play Brace & Liz in the inevitable Nicholas Rossi Netflix series

Demented Avenger

Replace the gong with a song by the rock band Gong. And, as creepy as the Allen/Previn relationship is, she wasn't his stepdaughter and didn't live with him growing up. (Mia Farrow herself suggested Allen and Previn hang out together, saying she thought the two would have a lot in common. She was right about that.)

Jaime Christley

A dinner dome is nothing more than a fallen gong

Ian Cunningham

Would be interested if anyone knows the the name of classical music playing at 17:00

Jaime Christley

I tried to Shazam it for ya but I think the spoken words got in the way

Demented Avenger

Nicholas Alahverdian is a dude who apparently lived through a sweet scene of Dude, Where's My Car?

NWhit2024

Dammit every time they cover the Utah story I have to hit the back button 100 times to keep track of what's going on

JDJ

NBA Playoffs Liz is my favorite

Hope

I want to know Liz’s beef with Bill Simmons

Gabe G

Excited for Yung Chomsky's next album, I hear there's a feature from Lil St James

Faye

Bamonte's?

TrueAnon will forever be known for existing in two discrete time periods: Pre-gong and Post-gong

I keep my foods fresh through pyramid power. Dome is for guests.

Mark Owen

can't say "the Game is afoot!" unless you're wearing a deerstalker. the door is ajar!

james

Love the gong! Keep it up. This is a hinge point in the podcast.

Bipp

I have not listened to the Utah series. I am clearly missing out on premo insanity 🫠

BeanCurd

LeBron DeSanctimonious

Doug Cartel

The last time I saw Chomsky talk was when he did that hilarious interview with whatsherface and Virgil Texas Virgil disappears off the face of the earth shortly after due to some stuf about him being a sex pest coincidence?????????????????????????????????????????????????????I think not the game is afoot

Nick

The gong is very funny

CactiFlowFlow

Fellow PredictIt users—has anyone figured out Sean McElwee’s username?

Kyle Petty

I love the fact that they mentioned Barnaby as a name that gets a lot of strange, But then in How I met Your mother what's the bame of the womanizing character? Barney

Ramzi Elkawa

I also view it as part of Chomsky’s freedom of association zealotry. Like he doesn’t believe anyone is beyond associating with, unless they are directly yelling at him at the moment. Obviously worthy of considerable critique, but it’s not like we’re learning something new. Guy’s an extremist libertarian and everything else is kind of secondary.

Steven Fritzsche

Has anyone seen Sean and Zoltar in the same place at the same time?

tommyn nuaimi

I need a visual guide for the utah stuff

Major Pisano

Billie burns is a bubba rapper from smoke-lahoma who has proclivity’s for weed

Dan Fordyce

I overlapped with Deckoff Jr in college; biggest prick I’ve ever met & bragged a loooot about how he spent his free time in the USVI….

Zack Burke

I saw Brace at the SF Year of the smile show. That man TOWERS at a solid 6'2" to 6'4". Easy.

j

New Syria episode when??

S

LeBron deSanctimonious rocks

Faye

Glenngary Glenn Ross is a great movie because even though Kevin Spacey is in it, every single time he's on screen he's being screamed at by another character

Justin Zuberka

it arrived. so happy for you bryce GONGGANG

Logan

This reads as satire

Annie Brennan

Hi brace, my boyfriend doesn’t believe the gong is real. Can you post a pic?

Wiley Michelle B

Brace corresponding with Chomsky re:Epstein is incredible. Thank you! I'm glad someone actually bothered to ask him questions. You definitely earned that gong, sir. Whereas Chomsky should have any gong privileges revoked :( His answer was almost as ridiculous as Bill Gates answer.

George Gallowgay

Why not promote the insinuations of the Wall Street journal about an anti war activist who has been systematically blacklisted by the media for longer than any of us have been alive? Surprising to hear the people who coaxed the most in depth and informed interviews out of Chomsky protege Norman Finklestien blindly get on the bandwagon of people embracing and amplifying the conclusions the wsj is promoting here by pure innuendo. still a very funny episode, great entertainment. strange to hear them pretend to think Chomsky is a Democrat loyalist.

Cleo

who else went to college with chief pollster Ethan

Cameron Brown

The best thing about that video where Nicholas Rossi says,"the game is afoot" is when the police threaten to arrest a man for calling him a "fucking beast".

Marcus

Now I know what to tell people about my dumb tattoos.

Starry Pr1nce

Don't forget that Peter Dale Scott thought chomsky was not being intellectually honest about the JFK issue, so he's probably been compromised in various ways for a long time.

DH

Is it blindingly getting on the bandwagon to email Chomsky and have him confirm that yes indeed, he did get on the Lolita express with Epstein to visit Woody Allen and his daughter wife?

DH

This gong is doing numbers 📈

George Gallowgay

you’re right, it’s more that brace and Liz enthusiastically jumping on the bandwagon while feigning ignorance of the context.

MinkL0af

Anyone who had literally 2 minutes worth of knowledge on Chomsky would not be trying to find some schizo rabbit hole to explain how or why he would have interactions with God King Dirtbags. He allots exactly 0 seconds into his schedule for doing background checks on the people he meets with, does interviews for, etc. The first thing out of his mouth in most interviews is "idk who the hell you are but you said you'd let me talk about/do whatever I want so I'm here". At this point I'm tired of people making massive assumptions every time it's proven that Epstein had some peripheral interaction with any celebrity. Like everyone has forgotten that his entire fucking job was entrapping as many prominent figures as possible into interacting with him so that he could develop blackmail on them. If he couldn't manufacture hard dirt on somebody doing a sex crime, he would manufacture associations between the target figure and himself or someone else that he does have hard dirt on, it still works just as well as blackmail on a rainy day. Like I don't see how anyone can explain Epstein's operation without admitting that most likely the majority of people who are implicated in his files are going to be totally innocent and basically unaware of what he was doing. I love to dig into a good Epstein rabbit hole as much as the next guy but I've made my peace with the fact that most random Epstein factoids are going to amount to absolute dead ends and that probably no one will ever have enough evidence to say without a doubt that most of the celebrities implicated in his files are guilty of anything at all.

Sam Krider

Massive cope. He clearly knew what epstein had gotten convicted for, was unbothered by it, and proceeded to have a pretty friendly relationship with him. Doesn't prove chomsky is a pedo but you don't gotta act like he's some aloof intellectual too busy in his endeavors to know who he was interacting with just cayse you like the guy

Bernard Babić

Oh noo you are tired. Go to sleep then.

MinkL0af

I mean, fair enough. I should specify that I do think this is a real bad look for Noam either way and is pretty fucked up. Genuinely just using him as an example here, because my point still stands, this should not be surprising to anyone that knows his background. He spent the majority of his career taking dark money directly from the pentagon and getting away with it by having hush hush relations with the most powerful politicians and capitalists on earth. While he was a groundbreaking activist against the Vietnam war, and redefined the antinuclear movement, he was working on a program to improve missile system capabilities, specifically nuclear systems (MITRE). It’s not hard to see how one could interpret this as a conflict of interests, lol. All that being said, he has clearly stated over the years that he holds those pentagon hawks as the worst form of criminals the world has ever seen, I think in his own mind he sees Jeffrey Epstein as about 1% as evil as the American imperial elite, and if he so clearly rationalizes spending his life’s work doing direct dealings with them, it takes no stretch of the imagination to rationalize some peripheral interaction with Epstein. I can see why people would have problems with that, I know I wouldn’t make those same excuses, or do anything extracurricular with these types of figures, but it’s not surprising in there slightest, and no one would have any question about his motives if they had any familiarity with his political history.

Nat Gavin

Incredible amount of restraint on display here with regards to the gong. I'd be punctuating every sentence with it. Well done mate.

ploob

I knew Brace hit it from behind!! Pretty clear Liz feels threatened by the gong

George Gallowgay

I think it’s just that he honestly does not care about the optics … or that he doesn’t believe there’s an issue with associating with a bad person if it is what allows him to have conversations that he has a political or intellectual interest in with third parties like the former pm of Israel.

Juliette DeMaso

Yeah if I’ve learned anything, it takes a whole ass conspiracy for a dude to be a sex pest. Just ask any Whatsherface.

Juliette DeMaso

This sounds like a Tinder question. 😂

Antipaganda

On the subject of whether Brace Belden is ugly... I would refute that blasphemy in the following way: If he dressed himself up to look like Owen Wilson, hair included, it would be convincing.

ble

True A-Gong

Vita Eve

i haven't read manufacturing consent either, but i'm just assuming chomsky ripped off parenti's Inventing Reality

libra man

Just learned about Sean Mc and was freaked out to learn his gf is someone I used to hang out with regularly in phl.
