First! Also Brace respect for your organizing work/love to see this ep 💗

NYCM&AHole

Gonggong Marcos is better than Yung Gongsky

NYCM&AHole

And did Yung Chomsky kick some guy into a pit, 300 style, for the 300th episode

Alejandro Pepsi

Congratulations on 300! Thanks so much, trueanon is always there for me ❤️

jonah peters

trueanon is kickass podcas 300 times

NYCM&AHole

IPAs are garbage. Come at me, shitty beer drinkers.

AK

Gong Gong Marcos ❤️

Tiny Bullhorn Operators Union 420-21

Damn it, just stop teasing me. For the love of God, do the adult baby episodes. The diaper men. The Huggies aficionados. We need it. Only trueanon can do this topic justice

leiper

I like four podcasts and this is top favourite (shite, virtually selfdoxxed twice). Thank you all, and well done.

Jaime Christley

I like Lagunitas and sometimes the ones with Ralph Steadman artwork, but I switched over to hard seltzer and cheap cliched lagers like Milwaukee’s Best Ice around 2020. I really try to avoid going over 5.9% ABV….. it’s not worth the aggravation.

cagey eye

not related to fritz but did your families used to call st. mary’s on gough “our lady of the maytag” too?

sarah

I need a sugar daddy

Nat

my workplace is unionizing rn and so I’d been listening during the process to the interviews you did about anchor a few years ago on chapo and stuff! going to have our election in about a month (: so thanks for talking more about your experience!!

TrueAnonPod

No but used to call the church on church and market our lady is Safeway

Chris

Thanks for doing this! My conservative family thinks I'm dumber than ever!!!

TrueAnonPod

First line is exactly what I say when Liz takes my binkie from me

NYCM&AHole

Finally, trueanon does a war on Christmas (ale) episode

Chris

Are you willing to wear a diaper?

Jaime Christley

300 episodes and still you can't be bothered to get your PI licenses???

Nan Heyneman

does anyone know why they moved to New York…?

Demented Avenger

You guys talked about how anti-Semitic you're supposed to be but you didn't do any anti-Semitism in this episode so false advertising!

Sam Zeng

We are always nice :)

Brian Long

Happy 300 to the loves of my life!

Brian Long

Brace is right, dads are hot

JV

"how long did we run?" "hour forty five" - actual episode is 1:38, ergo there's like 7 whole minutes of antisemitism that yung chomsky is keeping from us

Stephen David Miller

As a San Franciscan I always love when you indulge in local stories, so this ep warms my heart much like a certain discontinued Christmas ale

Demented Avenger

Speaking of Herb Caen … you're San Franciscans, is there any hidden lore about the greatest San Franciscan of all time, the Zodiac Killer? Enough for a whole episode?

Red Scare Spice

Y’all’s lament for San Francisco is totally how I feel about Nashville. The entire side of my mom’s family is from there and I have countless memories of holidays and vacations, family reunions etc in comfort of southern hospitality mixed with country kitsch. The way it has exploded economically over the last couple of decades has turned it into a grotesque version of its former tacky glory and it truly makes me so sad.

NYCM&AHole

Because it’s better

NYCM&AHole

Listen to ghost stories for the end of the world. Brace joins ghostboy Matt to talk the zodiac killer

TrueAnonPod

A lot of that is us waiting for people to finish phone conversations in the hall

Oliver Crane

Aw, Spec’s, I’ve maybe spent a week total in SF but the first time I went there on my own I wandered into Spec’s and just wanted to hang out there indefinitely.

Moonwatcher13

Considering y'all made it to 300, you get to have a look-back episode. and trust me, this could have been WAY more indulgent. its not bad at all

pulled a muscle yearning

Okay, we do need a Hunter episode, but it's where Hunter and Brace become best friends, Hunter gets sober, and 2024 brings the American Troika of Brace, Hunter, and Joe.

Tan Tan

Really assuring to find out that even Yung Chomsky has difficulty understanding what interests the womenfolk

Sam

Always knew the Holomodor episode was real

Negative Affirmations

Who's asking for an adult diaper episode? I'm on the subreddit and it seems fans are more interested in real stuff, like: "are pop rocks and op?" or "is my landlady an op?" or "is my diagnosis of schizophrenia an op?"

towerofmadel

really resonate with the last section about San Fran becoming a sort of husk of itself. I’m from Las Vegas which has only recently been booming in population growth, but it’s focusing so much on building The Strip into a neo-entertainment adult play zone. The downtown is very much the kind of “city authentic” discussed in other episodes and it’s just kinda…nothing. It’s cute but all the same. The real cultural markers left are the bars rescued by John Taffer from bar rescue lmfao

Oliver Crane

Also now I really want to go back to North Beach and sit in a cafe drinking godawful Italian coffee and eating the driest cookies in existence.

varis leek

diaper lovers episode is the only thanks we need

Mickey Soltys

Tech bros ruining SF is just the new version of what Walmart and Dollar General Store have done to small town America.

Brian Long

Really loved the end section of this episode.

Camila Sol

The quiet joys of brotherhood……. Love it. And congratulations on your 300th episode, you guys have taught me a lot

helvetica.hottie

Love you both and I have a huge crush on Brace. Listen, this is a call to you, Brace, if you ever find yourself by some crazy chance in the south, and you want a tall blonde to whisper shit like *I do declare* in your ear, hmu hot stuff.

Jaime Christley

The gourmand’s dinner plate is a Fallen Gong

Dan

Falun Gong?

Axel H.

Adult Brace, Diaper Liz 😂 That better be the title for the ABDL episode. And Young Chomsky’s laugh in the background was just perfect.

Megan

god speed 🫡

meyer

brace has been coming out to us in every episode lately

Zzz

300 WOOOOO!!! 🥳🎉 you’ve come so far

Gordon Schmidt

Are you guys ever going to do an episode (or maybe a series) on the Oklahoma City bombing? I just finished Wendy Painting's book, maybe you could have her on. The murder of Kenneth Trentadue needs to be more widely known. Just thinking about it makes my blood boil.

the empty suit

My own city is also very much changing in a major way, in a way that makes me really sad. Some of it was the pandemic completely shuttering very institutional spots, especially bars and restaurants and even some public buildings, while the ones remaining are being bought out by bigger corporations and being 'smoothed out', as Liz described... Staying here while all these changes continue happening is just so saddening. Everything is replaced by hollow, tacky businesses whose products are equally tacky and hollow as well as overpriced. It makes me viscerally sick 😭

Lucas Andrade

I got so excited when brace said “isn’t there someone we forgot to mention” because I thought he was going to bring back the colonel.

dshamz_

Everyone should take Brace’s monologue at the end of the episode to heart. Stop dicking around being a cynical misanthropist shithead waiting for a movement to come and fantasizing you’re going to be the vanguard intellectual. Just do the thing, because no one else will. We all know what has to be done - organize the working class. I left grad school after my PhD stalled out and ended up working parcel delivery. We just won a union election with Teamsters 26 to 2. Best thing I’ve ever done. Be amongst the people, love the people, hate the enemy.

Char Kelly

Classic HR manager Liz, bustin’ up the union!

Hot Rod

Used to buy anchor in college in IL, loved Liberty Ale

Andrew Bates

Ok i just looked up the new anchor steam logo and its giving landshark but even more sterile

Anais

I think your right that these entertainment zones really focus on just a veneer of city authenticity, but lack the "woven social dependency matrix" of actual necessities that cities need to survive, so the people in the community cannot organically form a culture, it's then copy pasted but restaurant groups or axe throwing venues or whatever

cagey eye

I'm an SF kid, between Liz & Brace's age, who believed I'd never leave, is also on a lot of Lexapro, and this episode made me well up a little. I think I'll be looking for the city again til I die. One thing I think about a lot is how the first tech boom came so closely after the worst depths of the AIDS crisis. The idea that tech SF is wearing a corpse's skin is more literal than it sounds

AKorgar

Rubber Baby Buggy Bumpers, Rubber Baby Buggy Bumpers

wiley greene

IPA stands for Irish Potato Ale

Harrison Sanchez

Only thing I can think of from my Kink connections is that there are endless scams of "Mommies" dommes/tops/caregivers stealing money. One truly deranged guy on twitter running a fake "nursery" account that makes the GarfieldEATS guy look connected to reality. There is an anti account following it to keep debunking, DM me for deeper notes. Aside from that an the usual kink community drama.

Shaylyn Alia

This episode ended up being so informative for me! I'm in the process of trying to unionize at the video game studio that I work at, and even though the industries are totally different, the process feels very similar and we're anticipating facing a lot of the same issues. It's also tough because we're fully remote and until recently it was also virtually unheard of for a game studio to even think about forming a union. It's been tough to push through the anxiety of reaching out to coworkers, but to me it's just the only way forward!

Go'Thrak

"Ain't no Island left for Islanders like me, ya ya yaaa yooooo" - Bracey Joel

Joseph Robertson

I was looking for a sign to relapse on alcohol 🫡

B

pod’s been on a roll since art week, but this is a really excellent episode. thx for 300. see you at 3000!!! 👁️

Cameron Brown

I really really liked this episode, I feel like anyone who lives in a big city can relate to that sense of nostalgia and can point to something that has been ruined by the endless march of "progress". Also that monologue at the end was just perfect.

QUARANTINE DREAM

So nice. Same kinda throat-closing feeling about lots of pure, living amazing things that are being completely destroyed. Nice work you three - still gets me super inspired and often feel much stronger and confident against these fucking terrible people ruining the world. <3

Jaime Christley

I’ve not enjoyed a Japanese beer. Any recs?

Monica

Congrats on 300 guys. This was a really thoughtful episode. It was nice not being American to get a full picture of SF and your histories after years of lore dropping. But mostly thank you for all your hard work and keeping me company for so many hours. The world is a lot more bearable and a little less scary hearing you guys speak sense and explain it.

Internet jones

Brace forgetting to mention that not only they wear diapers but they love them

chronye

the John Redwine story (killed his son after his abdl was exposed) might be a good path into abdl … mccaffee too

CC

From Tacoma, the blue collar step child of seattle, the development in the last 20 years makes my head spin. The last 25 mins was exactly what i needed. Thank you, you three, for 300 stellar episodes. I hope you’re enjoying NYC, the west coast is losing more of our culture by the day.

Inge Teloo

unrelated yall should do an episode on the SLA

Mike Malloy

Was hoping we'd get a "Brace noise" for old time's sake. Congrats on 300, thanks for all the work you put into this!

Kamran Husain

brace was the annoying belgian beer yuengling?

Le Michel diplomatique

I went to Esther’s Kitchen in Las Vegas an saw the sign and saw an “Arts District” sign coming off the freeway and immediately thought of the pod’s city authentic episode

Jawn Feddermang

Anchor Steam and Dutch Crunch Sando on Fisherman’s Warf will cure what (Roger) ails you. Also is SF a burial ground????

Lizard

I know this is probably bad for TrueAnon's reputation for being luddites but seriously, I got a flip phone, garmin gps, and an mp3 player last year when my head was just spinning with anger and anxiety and it's so much easier to log off and climb out of the hole than anyone thinks. Do it. Join me. Do it. Do it. Congrats on 300 eps and thank you guys for all the hard work you put in, it shows!

Marcus

Almost every raise I ever got was followed by an increase in the minimum wage to put me back at the minimum.

Jordan

No diaper episode plz, don’t hate on our diaped up kings/queens…would love an episode that dives into the medical industry / healthcare. US especially has a huge history of doing atrocious research on poor people, women, black people… usually with direct links to pharma / medical advancements ..

rutjake

platonic ideal of a cold open. liz from the top rope.

nadia

listening to the cold open while changing a diaper hit different

Sneakaboard

When i wpuld get hard up in Sf circa 2009-2010 I would go to the anchor brewery tours multiple times a week because at the end they would give you three pints of 'samples' so you could get a buzz for free.

Sneakaboard

I uaed to work at the acme bakery at the ferry building and can confirm

Sneakaboard

Every time they remind me he is hetero my brain also rejects the knowledge.

Sneakaboard

Asahi Kuronama, its a black ale and it rocks.

Sneakaboard

Its really hard to articulate the depth of what has been lost in SF, its happening everywhere obviously but I don't think its been as pronounced anywhere else in the US.

SoldierBlue

I think you can get Hitachino Nest beer in the US if you’re looking for a craft beer. Heartland is popular too

Bill Evans

I could take or leave ABDL but I've been eagerly looking forward to the airline episode since Liz floated the idea, and I'm always a little sad when I click on the description of a new ep and see that it's not about airplanes.

Arid

Brace; are you actually bisexual? I literally cannot tell at all if you are joking

Kenneth Smith

Brace talked about “getting past that ledge” in an episode about SF so I’m shouting “I WISH YOU WOULD STEP BACK FROM THAT LEDGE MY FRIEND”

Matthew Wood

proud to be a day oner ... and love the continued agnostic attitude to clout - thanks guys

Hordeum

When you talked about how Google Facebook and every other modern product or service is turning into crap, I thought you should do a series on hedge funds and how they are both a cause and a symptom of society being perverted into a profit and control machine for a select few sociopaths, who have an ever increasing grip over us. It is part of the pattern of which Epstein is a part, as well as globalization in general.

TrueAnonPod

Sorry I’m sure you’re one of the good ones

Zakir KH

Wait they’re luddites?

Jo-Lee

Colorado beer industry person here. New Belgium, one of the state's largest breweries and formerly employee-owned, was sold to Kirin (also Japanese) in 2019. Last year, after 30+ years of brewing it as their flagship beer, they changed the recipe of Fat Tire. This was done without New Belgium saying anything about it and was also accompanied by a (terrible) rebrand. I know these decisions are calculated and money-based or whatever, but it still absolutely boggles my mind how anyone could throw away customer support--"brand loyalty"--in this way.

NYCM&AHole

Tech SF wishes it were as cool as Slayer’s dead skin mask. Instead it’s just disappointing. Even yuppies and hipsters were better than techies. I sympathize a lot and have lots of nostalgia too because I lived in SF mid aughts to 2013 and decamped to NYC. It was a better city back then and the muni still sucked.

Buster Malino

I’ve been listening since the summer going into my senior year of high school, the very beginning of the pod, and am only now in my senior year of college, have listened to every single ep❤️

Pat

The person Liz referred to with the first name Ben - who was that?

Pat

Agree heaps with what you were saying on the ep, I was involved with a union campaign and it's amazing how the alienation and barriers between workers collapsed as a part of that process.

Jessica

Congratulations on 300! I've been listening since day one. Love you guys!!

Andrew Irwin

Unironically, but a little bit mockingly, the trueanon navel is beautiful

sammi sweetheart

have been considering this path. what has been the biggest inconvenience you’ve had to work around so far?

Cumdog Millionaire

Genuinely one of the best episodes I’ve ever heard of this show, you’re reflections at the end we’re crest. Love y’all thanks so much

Lizard

Camera by far. Everything else works more or less the same or can be replaced (watch, notebook, analog alarm clock, etc.) but there simply isn't a camera as good as a smartphone for as cheap and pocket sized. Currently using an old iPhone with no simcard and everything disabled for pure photo purposes and it's a decent workaround for now. I've ended up leaving it at home anyway unless I'm going on a hike or something, and it's kind of nice.

Lizard

I was just joking I don't actually think either of them are luddites lol

Eric

Aesop deodorant smells like mosquito repellant

Tom

I have Hunters laptop but I need a sugar daddy

Doug Cartel

Oh yeah I worked there until Q33NY man this was a stupid joke

will michel

this episode took me right back to summer 2022. i lead an ultimately unsuccessful union drive at the MOMs organic market where i worked in rockville. everyone should be extremely wary of companies that dress up their public image in liberal big talk and “environmental awareness.” more often than not thats just a smokescreen to the community to ultimately pit them against you. when they found out i had been talking to the teamsters they came up with this extremely dumbass reason to fire me. most important lesson i learned is you NEED to get your coworkers off the shop floor to talk to them about organizing. like brace said, it’s difficult to get people to wanna go out to talk about work after work lol. but it’s a super crucial step. also wanna shout out jonah furman from labor notes. i dm’d him on twitter asking if he had any helpful literature to send me and within a day or two we were meeting up at a diner in rockville to advise me on all the steps and stuff. he’s the real deal. anyway, fuck MOMs

will michel

also congrats on 300, i look forward to storming the capitol with everybody january 2025

Alias Dan Davis

This will be rambling. I'm not a writer. Sorry. I miss California. I'm a 4th generation CA native I grew up in So Cal. Mostly Inland Empire, but also "Gold Country" & also San Diego. We realized we couldn't afford to live there in the '90s & left. We still have family there. In the case of the San Bernardino in particular, it's expensive AND there's no jobs. CA is a very, very weird place economically (San Francisco was unaffordable back in 1990. I'm sorry, but it was). I miss that state. We couldn't afford to move back, even if we wanted to. (Last thing, I promise) You did an episode about shitty gentrification. Someone should gentrify Downtown San Bernardino. I still wouldn't be able to afford to live there, but at least I'd have a reason to visit.

Chas Padunski

I’ve never been to SF, but much respect for this episode. It’s the way a lot of us feel about the places we love. That City Authentic book is a nice read too, in case any listeners are on the fence about picking it up.

alec_irl

I was in SF in Spring 2019 and my friends and I went to Anchor Brewing for a tour -- I ended up asking the tour guide about their unionization stuff since there had been an article(? or maybe podcast) about Brace being part of the union drive there. We ended up getting a beer with the tour guide after, super nice guy, and he talked about the union stuff, including how there was this crazy guy working there who had like fought in Syria and was helping lead union campaign. Was super excited months later to find out about this podcast. Happy 300!

Randy Hendrickson

Tangentially, The Asahi Beer sign that used to be on a low-rise office tower in the Miracle Mile area of LA will always remain in my memory. I spent many a night as a new transplant to LA, looking at that thing in the evenings from the rooftop deck of our apt building.

Svid

Brace is a bi incel

Wawaweewa

I used to consider myself a New Yorker until about freshman year of college when I realized that other people had bought that label for themselves and it was no longer available to us. I lived in Portugal until November and Portuguese people are great at connecting, living in the moment, and being human. Wild how their most right wing major political party is a dem soc party. I feel like I’m in hell back in the states

Wawaweewa

East coast 🤝 west coast

Wawaweewa

As a Japanese guy by blood they’re all pretty good, kirin and Sapporo are pretty standard, Asahi is not for everyone but I like it, and there are also nice more expensive ones

mexicanhalloween .

it's all scams, online and off, and why wouldn't they be, scams have a great profit margin and absolutely must be put in everything to combat the TRPF

Wawaweewa

I think SF is the one in the news most but there is literally nothing for normal ppl in DC, New York is absurdly expensive and shitty… those are the places in the states I’ve been staying recently

Oliver Crane

Ben Jacobs - he got bodyslammed by Greg Gianforte

enter_krzysz

I am with a union in germany and we're trying something similar for video game translators. Only through organizing, meeting and talking, we won more rights for the interns. Felt great, but then a lot of people got fired as retailiation... still totally worth it, and we continue the struggle from outside and within

Ant koz

Love braces only ones malapropism. The only fans. Another girl selling nudies on another planet

Jesse

Genuinely, love you guys

unforgivingbisexual

Liz’s laugh at 14 min is the most beautiful sound I’ve ever heard

Teriyaki sticks

Y’all gotta start doing fit pick reviews. You’re all clearly stylish people with lots of opinions. Time to direct that shit at your community. Help them dress their best so when they tell their families what’s really going on in America they’ll be seen as professional because they got a clean fit on.

brodie

I really love when you guys talk about cities. I think you two are really good at articulating the importance of soul and character of a place and how these tech freaks come in and destroy all that stuff. I think alot of people who call themselves urbanists are full of shit and also really go out of their way to learn a bunch of shit to convince themselves all the problems exist in the zoning code or tax credits or whatever bullshit when the reality is that it's in the people and the places that give a city a life and a culture. It's this like black fog that eats away at alot of things in our lives and unfortunately San Francisco is like ground zero for being the heart of that big tech boom.

Justin Sexton

thank you for all the laughs guys. may the great spirit watch over you : )

Arden Igleheart

Every girl who listens to this podcast would go gay for Liz myself included

Brennan Duff

They should get Malcolm Harris on the pod, I loved Palo Alto and I’d love to hear them discuss the book and sf and tech.

Blown Magnet

i loved this episode - it was really thoughtful and sweet. i really connected with the description of trying to find old SF and it not being there anymore - just in traces. i felt the same way when i lived in Hong Kong for a while - knowing that the old HK was gone and seeking traces of it (not the colonial stuff but the ways local people lived and worked and socialised). I also really appreciated hearing about the union organising at the brewery. A+++ would listen again

Ian Firstenberg

I've spent the vast majority of my life living in the east bay. This episode touched a particularly emotional chord and was by far my favorite episode you all have ever put together. Thank you three so much

meyer

I also am really hoping for an airline episode. maybe dumb but i’d also really love if they talked about flight 370

meyer

he’s bicoastal

Wawaweewa

My mom has lived in HK for the last decade, she has moved I shit you not each and every single time her lease has expired because of the landlords are lunatics and there are obviously not tenant protections. I knew a lot of the expat/international school kids and not one still lives there unless they work for an investment bank lmdao

Wawaweewa

i wear diaper for brace

Karl Childers

Just wanted to say I love this podcast, been listening since like episode 20, also an SF native. As long as y'all continue to enjoy making this show, it will remain a highlight of my week.

Karl Childers

TrueAnon Palo Alto ep yes please

Arielle Curtin

1)you three are some of my favorite people on earth; companions, even friends 2)Keg Anchor Steam with mushrooms ca. 1979 Santa Cruz was a peak experience. 3)”you can never go home” my experience growing up in 70s-80s Greenwich Village. Ffs they tore down the building that housed my fathers other office: the Cedar Tavern. The city I grew up in is no more. Love you guys!!!

Doc Adna

Just got back from Portugal. Such a comfortable country, definitely get that human connection. I fell in love with a lot of the waiters/waitresses lol

Doc Adna

Thanks Brace for your great story and service to your community. Thanks Liz and Yung for the great camaraderie. In general keep on truckin

R. Karchnyak

I quit drinking years ago and the one thing I still miss is Anchor’s Christmas Ale. Every year there was always a part of me that thought of relapsing just for that beer. Tradition holds a place in all our hearts. I’ll miss the temptation.

bruce

Congratulations and thanks for being my friends that live inside my radio for so many years

Andrew Owens

I had a brace made Anchor! Anchor has an interesting story and I really liked this episode

Laura

The book “everything and less” by mark mcgurl has a fairly serious academic discussion of ABDL fantasy fiction if anyone is interested

j h

i always get so excited when y'all break out the Benjamin references / quotes -- really loved that bit about wanting to just get off the train <3

Noodles

Best podcast by a mile. This is a weird time to live in. We are all at the mercy of the algorithm. Don’t be too sad about it… humanity grows in the cracks

TangiePower

You guys have a lot to be proud of. The US left has a lot of things to figure out, but I think building up our local cultural institutions, city scenes and stuff like that can create a stronger base for socialism. So much of that has been stripped away, purposefully, by the forces you describe in this episode.

Genevieve Kuzak

Would you guys ever consider making an episode about what you think are the solutions to all these problems in regards to gentrification/cities destroyed by tech people? I am curious about what you would do if you had the power to change things.

Dean Watson

Mao style appropriation ?

Ray

Detroit auto industry next?

Shiv

Nothing is more relatable, as a SF born-and-raised, than the yearning to chase a long gone bohemia… and loving Specs 🧀

Brian Ward

Brace sure makes a lot of movie references for someone that hates movies

Tom Clarke

Late comment to say congratulations to all three! Love the podcast, and have ever since I got into it probably three years ago. You do such a good job and I really don't think there's ever been an episode I didn't enjoy. Also I haven't been to San Francisco in like 9 years but I've just seen the Anchor Steam rebrand and HOLY FUCK what were they thinking?? Ah yeah and the co-founder of OceanGate is called Guillermo Söhnlein. That's right: an Argentinian with a German surname 👁️

Graham Isom

As a born and raised San Franciscan, from the outer Richmond like Brace, the whole episode is very bittersweet. I love SF so much but it's been brutal watching tech annihilate everything I grew up with and watching all the old lefties get priced out of the city. I'm always greatful to have rent controlled housing because it's the only way you can make it in the Bay these days. I think there's going to be a big shakeup in the next 10 years though, and I hope the city comes out the better for it.

NigelBOpinion

Great 1890's SF novel people might enjoy - Sterling Hayden's Voyage: A Novel of 1896 (yes, that Sterling Hayden)

August

I want to be like Brace when I grow up (I’m 26)

Sarah Hunt

300th episode so time for a sappy parasocial message of appreciation: I became a patron and listened to both current and the backlog of the pod when I was abroad in a country where I didn't speak the language at all, at the tail end of covid, right after my dad died. Listening to the podcast didn't only entertain me and inform me but it also gave me comfort and a sense of community during a hard time. I definitely felt a little less alone while listening. Thank you guys so much for the laughs, the info and thank you for all the effort you put in!

K H

I saw a guy doodoo in a plastic pan between some cars. I couldn't help but think how he and the public would benefit from a simple portapotty. There is a tech toilet by the skating rink/park but it seems to never be working. Tenderloin is a prime example of people getting what they asked for and it not being what they wanted. I can't help but think it damages your brain to be constantly confronted with such abysmal human condition. All paved lots should be subject to eminent domain for the common good. Like if you got land and you just covered it with asphalt it should be taken away from you because you're a demon.

People's Housing Project

Love this episode. I've been seeing the same awful soul-sucking shit happen to Santa Cruz, and there's few things more alienating...

Dick Waglin

Congrats on 300. Started listening last November with ep. 1 and got through the whole back catalogue by last month sometime. Thanks for keeping me entertained and poisoning my brain!

DH

Even just having lived in the Bay for 2 years, I could feel the ghost of San Francisco’s spirit in the air. You could sense how nothing is as it’s supposed to be right now. It made me so sad because I loved the remnants of SF that I picked up. In another world I could’ve spent my whole life there.

DH

Also just wanna say I’ve been a listener since 2019 and I feel very blessed to have this be the only podcast I listen to. You guys have taught me more about the world than I ever would’ve been able to learn on my own. I went through law school during this time and there were days where listening to you on the car ride back was the only thing I had to look forward to. You’ve taught me how to be a REAL skeptic and how to have hope despite all the depravity. Sorry for being insanely awkward when I met you at the Hugo rally in LA Brace. Much much love to the TrueAnon trio, and congrats on being the new face of Hims viagra

The Children of Jack Acid

@Brace wait, "Ben Collins?" You know my brother? The random guy who used to work in recycling in SF and Oakland and partied a little too much and had to move back to Oklahoma? Or is it some more sophisticated Ben Collins you're thinking of?

Aaaaaaaaaaaron1

I've bounced around the bay my whole life and yeah, SF and Oakland have been gutted. So much fucking misery, it's heartbreaking. I used to eat psychedelics like candy and walk around SF and now I think I'd die from crying if I opened myself up to that.

Doodles

Loved to hear about the Anchor Union efforts. I remember the posters being everywhere and when I heard about DSA being involved it inspired me to join. Hopefully Anchor and SF have a future together.

Brad Hochmiller

Happy to hear that you still love making the podcast. It's a staple for me because I enjoy you 3

Cierra

Aww the ending made me smile I'm glad you guys like making the podcast because I love listening to your banter. you guys remind me of home.

Gabe Itch

Congratulations on 300. I always love it when you guys talk union. Organizing your workplace is definitely one of the most rewarding things you can do. It's great to hear that passion when talking about the empowerment that comes with working together with your coworkers to make your own agency.
