Just yesterday I saw a headline in BBC crowing about a British destroyer shooting down a Yemeni drone and looked up the relative cost. A Shahed drone (assuming that's what was used instead of an even cheaper quadcopter or something) costs like $30k. A single Sea Viper missile costs £2m.

Yes, there were a lot of older volunteers in the Donbass and Lugansk Republics who signed on to stop the alien regime from murdering their families. I'd recommend everyone check out the vids featuring Jon Elmer on Electronic Intifada's youtube channel. Been watching through them recently and it's by far the best properly detailed and accessible military angle of all the various fronts in this war, including a lot of amazing analysis of the combat footage from the resistance in Gaza.

Okay. Came back to this one late but they might destroy your house ... As long as they have like at least a million dollar insurance policy and you get it in writing that anything may damage or break they will replace with a new one you are probably fine But it's not worth the hassle unless you get a sizable location fee. I did my internship in locations on a TV show. Definitely seen them have to replace a bunch of carpets. Wouldn't suggest it if you have wood floors you like and in one old historical house I saw the whole floor and subfloor in one room collapse and I think they had to replace the whole thing? It was paid for, but I'm pretty sure it took a few months.

For a long time IDF officers being on the frontline has been a perverse bragging point for Israel, maybe because it is a clever way of making it appear as though they are exceptionally brave and innovative (sort of how startups pat themselves on the back for their disastrous flat organizational structures). Plus, like Brace said, they desperately have to incentivize staying in, so there's good reason to pass out promotions to every other Ari, Uri, and Eli, and at a very young age--at least until an embarrassing number of officers get taken out.
