The heart monitor 😭😭😭😂😂

Travis Pike

waiting for these next 2 episodes feels exactly the same as waiting after a solo leveling cliff hanger... the excitement is real.

Also, now you finally understand why they were wet in the intro 😂

This was definitely one of those episodes that was really made me regret watching it weekly. I needed to see what was next. I do find names particularly interesting too. Kousen, from my understanding, means something akin to a ray of light. It fits with Jinshi in certain ways, the least of which was him acting as the Moon Fairy earlier in the season. And according to the wiki, feifa means "flying explosion", and it's apparently a historical term for some early versions of firearms. But I don't personally know much about that myself. But anyways, loved your reaction and it was fun to see that little number go up at certain moments. About to check out the episode 12 reaction now.

The Goliath frog is the largest frog species and can grow up to 12.6 inches. 😃

Remember when Maomao gets fired and Gyokuyou tells Jinshi he's going to regret it? I'm pretty sure she's still a little irked that Jinshi fired HER Maomao. It's not Gyokuyou's fault he bought her, if it was up to her she never would have been fired.

The reason Basen passed out was bc that drink was spiked with SOOO MUCH afrodisiac 🤣 Just like the chocolates from S1. That's why he needs to extra careful about what he eats and drinks all the time (other than the risk for poison ofc).

Yeah this episode aired and I IMMEDIATELY went and bought a digital version of the corresponding light novel. I couldn't wait. No regrets.

The foods and strong alcoholic drinks are described as being “invigorating” by Maomao. They’re basically aphrodisiacs, which is why Jinshi is asking if it’s really ok for him to eat and drink them, and why Basen gets a nosebleed. It seems someone might be trying to expose Jinshi’s non-eunuch nature or maybe just embarrass him. Your heart rate was slightly elevated from the start. Your resting rate is usually really low because you have the athletic body so it doesn’t look raised but I’m sure it was. It’s the anticipation, right? You knew something was going to happen and your mind was racing with the possibilities. I always find that stuff interesting. I wasn’t one of the people asking for the heart rate monitor but I appreciated it. Thanks.

Early gunpowder weapons really didn't resemble what we would consider a firearm or a gun. They were basically small caliber, man portable cannons, that had be lit by a match. The smoke and fireball created by one firing would have been quite the spectacle, especially if you had never seen anything like it before. Then when the cannon ball hits with more force than you knew existed...it would seem like a flying explosion. They also would have been rare enough that an exaggerated name would make a lot of sense too.

Trying to dose Jinshi with enormous amounts of pseudo viagra is a hell of a dirty move. Would have made for an interesting spectacle if it happened in public though lol.

The Chinese actually had the most ingenious ways of cooling down hot rooms. Slaves or servants were usually a big part of it, as complicated as having ducting through houses, and people would work bellows or fans to pump and circulate air through interiors. They also invented one of the first refrigerators that also doubled as an air conditioner, using ice they could both cool their refreshments and, as the ice melted it would pump cool air into the room. During the feast scene you can see the buckets of water on the floor, they would have been chilled, and the cool water evaporating would have helped cool the room. It doesn't compare to what we have today, but back then it was light years ahead of what most of the world was doing.

9:50 Flexi : techically maomao works UNDER jinshi... (later in episode) "welp i guess she's working on TOP of jinshi now. whoever suggested the heart rate monitor for these episodes is DIABOLICAL... do it again

Ilsuk Yang

Well, it was fun seeing Flexie's heart rate go above 100 all of a sudden lol. Lady Gyokuyou has way too much fun teasing Jinshi 😂😂😂

AlexaByFrames

Ahhhhhh... we're here lol "Maybe nothing will even happen. Maybe it won't affect me. Stone-cold. Maybe you'd be disappointed." I haven't watched your reaction, but I KNOW none of this will happen. You ate your words, probably lol Edit: Her heart monitor was 105 lol

Spanky

Sword and Pistol... is that a reference to The Highwaymen??
