endeavor froze because if he saved natsuo himself he woud ended up being a hero for him and it wound be even harder for natsuo to hate him, he woud feel guilty because hes hating and not forgiving number one hero who everybody likes and whos saving people. endeavor even said that, if he rescued him himself natsuo woud never said anyting to him anymore, ever again my heart breaks for natsuo the most. he had plans but he had to cancel them and come to a traumatizing family dinner, got guilt-tripped for his perfectly reasonable feelings and then got kidnapped and almost died several times. and then, endeavor gave him another traumatic speech in the middle of the road before he could even catch his breath properly. i think natsuo's trauma is a bit washed over by many. he's now both an abuse survivor and hostage survivor. the whole day everybody just trying to guilt trip him for not forgiving an abuser who never let him near his little brother, destroyed his mother and killed his older brother

Andres

I think episode 19 is missing from the desc. I was pleasantly surprised when I finished 3 episodes and there was still an hour left lol. I was like “damn Flexie really had a lot to say about this!” The Todorokis are really just pure trauma, aren’t they? lol

Alex Hencher

I think Natsuo went through some serious shit, both as a child, and in the kidnapping. But he also needs to grow up and move on. Literally everyone is already working to move on with their lives. Trauma sucks, but wallowing in self pity instead of adapting is counter productive to your own existence.

kejihxv

hes literally tried to change for his sister and mother. he was putting effort he even asked endeavor "why shoud I have to actively change?". "trauma sucks" his dad was literally torturing his little brother and killed other brother, he was beating their mother in front of them. its not something you can forgive or forget just because the abuser suddenly changed, its been years for natsuo. im surprised non of these kids became villians after that. Natsuo traying to move on by cutting off endeavor and living his life in collage but his family and everybody around him keeps avtively gilt tripping him into forgiving his dad when he cant even look at him

Ryuuji Gremory

No one at any point has actively guilt tripped him for not forgiving Endeavor. If anything he guilt tripped himself.

Noboi

@Ryuuji Gremory. Well no, Deku unintentionally guilt tripped him. Tbh, not enough people talk about how Izuku owes Natsuo an apology

Noboi

Also ayy! This is my comment about Natsuo! I'm happy to see that more people agree with it, as he seriously needs more love and attention. People really like to pull the "he was being rude" or the "he needs to move on" card, which is frankly just ridiculously childish and really understates what he went through.

Noboi

Someone already mentioned how traumatic this night was for Natsuo and how more people need to acknowledge that, and tbh I 100% agree. I maintain that Izuku kind of owes Natsuo an apology for unintentionally guilt tripping him, despite his good intentions. Also, as someone who heavily relates to the Todoroki family plotline, this arc hits very close to home, and I'll eventually have a lot to say. For now though, I think it's worth noting how Endeavor really messed up when Natsuo needed him. Rather than going in for the save, he became hesitant, thinking that Natsuo might feel indebted, but as a result, he almost got Natsuo killed. Had Deku and the others not been there, that entire fight would have likely ended horribly for everyone involved.

KevinsLunchbox

You'd seen Trigger already though. Red Riot fought that blade guy. He used Trigger. Fat Gum even says Trigger was invented in the US and is sold on the black market in other places including Japan.

Ryuuji Gremory

Did you notice how you completely walked back your claim of "everybody around him keeps actively gilt tripping him into forgiving his dad " to just "Deku unintentionally guilt tripped him" ? That aside, no that's Natsuo guilt tripping himself, overhearing a conversation that he isn't part of and applying it to himself in the worst way possible, in a way completely opposite to what the conversation was actually about. Deku doesn't owe him any apologies for that.

KevinsLunchbox

I wasn't expecting episode 19 to be in here too. I forgot how emotional it was. First time I watched it I was on a lunch break surrounded by people so I guess I suppressed it, but rewatching it now it's so sad. Tearing up and everything.

Noboi

@Ryuuji Gremory. Well for one I'm not the original commenter so maybe don't put words in my mouth? As for the actual claim, yes, Deku unintentionally guilt tripped him, and Fuyumi is very much guilt tripping him despite her good intentions. So yes, there are very much people guilt tripping him in his life. But yes, Deku very much owes Natsuo an apology on account of him literally hurting him. Like, what Deku did was essentially call Natsuo unkind indirectly. There's literally no way to take what he said that wouldn't reflect badly on Natsuo unless we completely recontextualize Deku's words. I would also just consider this to be mostly irrelevant anyways since when you hurt someone, you're obligated to apologize to them regardless of whether or not you meant to.

Natsuo Todoroki

You ever have one of those nights where you have to ditch future plans to go to a beyond-awkward family dinner and then you get kidnapped after? Cause that's what happened here. On the subject of Endeavor though, it’s clear that he’s different now. It’s just… hard for me to care. He performed one basic act of atonement here and that’s all he can really do for now since it’s just too little too late for proper reparations to be made. All we can do is just move forward in our own ways. And that doesn’t always mean forgiveness.

Hamse99

What makes Endeavor a better teacher for me than All Might is that All Might always felt like a prodigy someone for whom things came naturally. But Endeavor had to work relentlessly for his place. He wasn’t handed greatness; he fought for it. That means he’s learned through trial, failure, and perseverance, and those experiences give him deeper lessons to pass on. He knows what it's like to not be the best—and to still keep going.

Christopher Velasquez

Endeavor is the realest character in the show, the most human, his mistakes, his perceptions, his goals even, and now his eyes have begun to open more and see more clearly, He isn't trying for forgiveness, he is just now trying to do things in a better way and live a better life. We've all done things we might have regretted and if you haven't you are either lying to yourself or have been extremely sheltered lol. Endeavor is def one of my top 3 fav characters ez.

Natsuo Todoroki

I mean, you’re allowed to like Endeavor, but this feels like a disingenuous assessment of who he is. Yeah, we’ve all done things that we regret. We’ve all made mistakes. HOWEVER, there’s a fine line between “making mistakes”/“being human” and doing what he did. Like, he was straight up evil and a sorry excuse for a human being. At that point, wanting to do better and not seeking forgiveness are far less than the bare minimum, and I’m gonna need to see way more than one act of atonement before I give him any kinda praise. And no spoilers, but onwards, he doesn’t even crack the top 20 best characters for me. As for why, I’ll save that for another time. 😅

Christopher Velasquez

100% People change and Endeavor is changing; sure you can't forgive him right now and that's fine. Shoto is a good example, he knows Endeavor the hero is a great man, and as a father he "wants to see how t goes" that's the maturity aspect. Natsuo is still very immature, you can see it in his actions and all that.

Christopher Velasquez

LOL Flexie, Uravity's wrist cords are heavy yes, but she isn't lugging them around getting an arm workout, she uses her quirk to make them lightless lol. She even says so when they mentioned it lol

Kenny Rivera

the suitcases at 1:18:30 always make me smile idk why but i love that animation

EstebanEsquivel1994

Season 6 will be a shocker for you just wait season 5 will be look like nothing.

Noboi

@Christopher Velasquez. This isn't true at all. Natsuo is looking at this in a VERY mature way and has moved on from Endeavor. There's nothing immature about standing up for himself and establishing boundaries. Accepting that forgiveness isn't possible and putting your foot down is actually one of the most mature things you can do.

darkaquatus

What on Earth made you believe that villain was Endeavor's son? 1) There's a literal altar at home for Endeavor's dead son 2) Multiple family members literally said he's dead 3) The villain said he saw Endeavor for the first time 10 years ago and started worshiping him 4) He's been in prison for many years, which Endeavor would know about since he works closely with the police 5) He doesn't look anything like Endeavor or his family members 6) His quirk is not even remotely similar to that of Endeavor's family 7) He never calls him dad and doesn't even use his name. Instead he uses his Hero name "Endeavor" 8) He's not interested in becoming friends with Endeavor or even killing him. Instead he's going for a weird "death by cop" suicide But yeah, he's totally his son. Honestly, sometimes I really don't understand how your brain works Flexie, lol

Noboi

It's also what ends up proving why All Might is the better mentor, but not the better teacher

Hellguin

In her defense, They JUST introduced Toya properly, and then focus on him hard af. cant blame her train of thought immediately

Kerr bation

Flexie.... I really like u as a reactor and ive greatly enjoyed ur content... until my hero. Pausing every 5 sec and then going back 30 sec is actually so ridiculous it makes watching this so hard. I am now to the point where everytime u pause i dont even listen to you talk anymore and i just skip ur whole commentary just for the sake of the episode to continue. Its crazy that I am still subbed even after feeling like this but i really do like ur content. I get that this is a reaction channel but u know that im not the only one out of all ur viewers that is watching this for the first time. I want to continue to sub but if this continues im gonna be forced to un sub just because its kind of infuriating. U proabably dont care or will even see this but i just thought i should put it out there cuz ik im not the only one that feels like this.

Avik Das

cry more . stop behaving like a child

Avik Das

Lots of pauses this episode . wow

VOCFM

she was thinking of Batman and Alfred lol

Oğuz Kaan

I was about to say samething. Stop it and read. Same sceen 3 time oha.

Gukjahut

He never even mentioned natsuo a single time bro, hes talking about shoto, if natsuo got the wrong idea and got mad thats 100% his fault not dekus

Noboi

Nope, that’s a very onesided way of looking at this. Izuku’s statement DID unintentionally mention Natsuo by proxy, as it was acknowledging what forgiveness and unforgiveness would entail for the person in question. Also no, if you insult someone unintentionally then you still owe them an apology. It’s not that person’s fault for being hurt.

Ilsuk Yang

MHA really had to up the trauma in 5x19 because the Todoroki family's trauma wasn't enough 😢
