Just a fun little fact. Garp, who is vice-admiral, is the third highest rank in the entire Marines. second being Admiral and the highest being Fleet Admiral. So the rank disparity between Garp and Coby and Helmeppo is crazy big.

Sanji fought a dinosaur that can't use its arms ( just like him ), Zoro fought a dinosaur with three horns (like his three swords), and luffy finds a dinosaur with a stretched out neck ( kinda like his rubber power).

Just so you know, the place where Mr.3 is isn't Little Garden. I guess it's something like Kyuka Island or "Holiday Island" 👍 Here are some missed Pandaman sightings in the recent episodes: - Ep 64 (12:53): the kid (I found out his name is Mr.Beans lol) wears a t-shirt with a panda head - Ep 69 (12:15 to 12:25): Helmeppo's t-shirt is from Doskoi Panda franchise and there is a little Pandaman in Koby's book - Ep 70 (8:09): we can see Pandaman from the back next to the pool (8:25): Pandaman is enjoying the pool behind Mr.3 (8:36): It's either Pandaman in a bikini or the first Pandawoman sighting !

The guy with the suit and hat that’s basically garps right hand is never referred to by name in the manga. But the anime in the credits refers to his name being Bogard. His look and name being an obvious reference to the 40s and 50s actor Humphrey Bogart. Oda might just have forgotten to mention his name anywhere, but it’s well known knowledge now, so there’s probably no reason to say it anywhere.

I guess the way I personally interpret it is that the Grand Line is like some huge unpredictable battlefield, with pirates and navy and large criminal organisations fighting over on unpredictable seas and terrain. Some islands are swarmed with pirates, like Cactus Island, where Whiskey Peak is, and the ones that have regular people on them have a ton of them still visit. So it's like. If you want a peaceful life, the Grand Line is not the right place. You've got a ton of pirates coming from all four seas, and the navy chasing after them, and a bunch of weird shit tring to kill you on the way, since you can't really go to a peaceful island directly, since to go to most places you have to go through a bunch of other islands first. I do agree that it feels a bit like it was ocerblown as a reader though. I think I expected it to be more...wild? Like, a place with little civilization. And while in-universe it makes sense that people think it's like that, because information probably struggle to leave those waters because of the very way the Grand Line works, as a reader it's a bit jarring

All this Coby and Helmeppo stuff is really important. Its "technically" filler(ish) but it really isn't, especially for someone new to the series. Its worth tucking all of this away for a much later date.

Bear in mind that the only people you heard being that terrified and claiming nobody comes back from the Grandline, were from the East Blue, aka the weakest sea indeed. Other seas likely got another outlook on it

You can tell that Vivi, in true princess form, is well educated as she knows about the pre-historic era, including dinosaurs. On the other hand, our 3 heroes (er muscle brains) have no idea about the monstrosities, including the "squid shellfish", they have encountered. FYI, there's a One Piece themed gym in Shibuya and it's called "BragMen" which is the title of the book Nami was reading that was explaining what Little Garden was.

the reason the grand line is such a dangerous place is cause of the wild unpredictable weather events happening, you just saw it before on their way to whiskey peak, its not always like that but it can be most of the time so they have to stay on guard at all times another reason is cause of all the warlords and marines and other major figures in the world, because the grand line is the hot spot for pirates, its the main location the marines are going to focus on, so they best of the best of the marines are going to operate on the grand line the most, they provide the most challenging walls for pirates to overcome while traveling in the grand line, having all of these thrown at them at once can be overwhelming if your not prepared for it

Narratively, there was never any other option than to have Navy HQ in the Grand Line. If the Straw Hats are going to be there, you need the forces opposing them to be there as well. Koby is 16 at this point, while Helmeppo is 20. Also, one reason they looked so small fighting Garp is because he's 9.5 feet tall.

Tokyo Tower had a One Piece theme park, which included a restaurant that served food featured in the anime. It had been around for years and was only closed during the pandemic. I don't know the current situation, but it was a place to try food from the manga/anime, including dishes prepared by Sanji.

Its important to note that Koby got lucky to have been taken to the grand line to train, its not a normal thing for a recruit to be taken to the HQ, usually he would have just made his way up as a marine in the base that he was on the East Blue (shelltown)

There’s a Sanji cookbook I got off TikTok that has a lot of dishes made in the show as well as others and Oda’s favorites at the end. Need to go to an Asian market to get all the specialty ingredients, but it also teaches you how to make the ingredients needed too like dashi broth for example.
