Yeah FMAB and Code Geass are both anime that should be watched without the background noise of live chat. And I personally hope you watch FMAB in Sub! While it has a good dub the sub is still superior.

Honestly, there's no point in watching Boruto. It's a waste of time. It's a very weak anime that just ruins the characters from Naruto. On the other hand, I'm really looking forward to Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. For me, it's one of the best anime ever, and together with Naruto and Bleach, it's the big three that got me into watching anime. I started watching One Piece many years later, but these were the three anime series I started with, and they will always have a special place in my heart.

I do not agree on that. I, for one, LOVE Boruto. I even watched all the fillers and loved it! It is not a weak anime and i doesn't ruin the characters at all. I actually loved all the new characters as well.. so imo Boruto is not a waste of time.

For FMAB i prefer dub. Not only va are incredible but i think localisation is better (the way some phrases are written and delivered have more impact imo). I would prefer MDUD not streamed because i don't want to wait for vods lol. I watched Horimiya because of the comments here (didn't even heard about this show before) and it's an actual GOAT. I don't think it's the best romance show but i think this show has the best romance if that makes sense.

We'll cross this bridge when we get to it, but before you do anything involving Boruto, be warned that there will be a swarm hating no matter the level of quality. Cyber is big on boruto right? Maybe you could ask them, some filler arcs are fantastic and solve the issue of actually putting Boruto himself at the forefront. We definitely don't need all of them as there are animation issues, but it'd be a shame to skip all of them.

@Dominik here we have exhibit A, sorry you didnt like it. Plenty of people still love it, and nothing is retroactively hurting Naruto or its characters. The character flaws are simply natural progressions that make sense

Black Clover is my favorite show in it's genre. Dress up Darling, Love is War, and Horimiya are my top 3 rom coms. Love is War is my 3rd favorite anime after Frieren and Apothecary Diaries. Slime is my 4th, but I am excited for Dress Up , Black Clove, and Haikyuu. That's a lot though. Please space this all out

I personally watched over 40 episodes and I just couldn't grow to like it. Idk, I found it really boring, I didn't like nor cared much for the new characters, the premise didn't stick with me, some changes to the setting also didn't work for me. Idk, to me it's just very bland.

As someone who usually prefers sub, FMAB dub is just done better. The VAs did an absolutely amazing job and the dub is just preferred and beloved by a lot more people.

My only concern with FMAB is it doesn't cover all the lore that's with the original. Jw if she's seen the original or knows of the lore that will be missed. And about Boruto. I personally found the fillers boring, but they did add character development. A lot of people dis on Boruto because its a different flow than Naruto. And the animations could be weird sometimes from artist burn out. However, I stand by in saying its worth the character development to just watch it all. The fillers to me were less random adventure non canon stuff like shippuden's were, there was 1 filler i thought was actually really wholesome and something of a learning experience. My biggest issue with Boruto is the lack of inclusion of the OG characters from Naruto/Shippuden. Very heavy focus on the new generation with little to no focus on the OG's. HOWEVER Two Blue Vortex is said to be shaping up magnificently, they're taking their time making sure its leagues better than Boruto, in story and animation.

Voted for Black Clover myself and had a feeling you might add it despite it losing to Haikyu by just a bit. Actually started reading the Haikyuu manga not too long ago and made it to CH 200. It’s amazing so far and I really enjoy the characters so much. I can’t wait for your reaction. Excited to watch the anime after I’m done with the manga.

gaming chairs were supposed to be the worst chairs. Real office chairs, old designs and new designs are supposed to be more comfortable and more ergonomic - and gaming chairs were just fashionable. Someone else mentioned in the comments already, but a poll for FMAB sub vs dub is probably a good idea. Personally, I grew up with the dub and think it’s far superior to the sub. To the point where I can’t watch reactions to the sub because it’s so jarring it takes me out of it. No judgement either way though. FMAB is one of the best stories in anime so you’ll have a great time regardless of which you choose.

Boruto fillers at first wasn’t bad, but then they went on a 1.5 year filler run of like 80 straight filler episodes that were very bad, then they came back with like 5 canon episodes that were animated amazingly, then they went on break immediately after

My Dress-Up Darling (aka Sono Bisque Doll): It does have some fan service, though almost all of it (with the notable exception of one particular scene) is in service to the narrative, so it doesn't feel gratuitous. The mangaka is a woman, so at least it's not the typical anime male gaze-y crap. She's written a bunch of ecchi manga, though, so she doesn't exactly shy away from sexual situations.

The companies selling gaming chairs sponsored a ton of streamers back in the day, basically just sending a free chair to a ton of them, and having sponsor segments. It's not like they are going to get rid of the chair so it will feature in every stream and video after that. After a while it became part of the image and people got them to have "the look". So they managed to get a massive customer base interested in the product.

Aside from the vote thing (even though I fear it would be my loss) I have tried watching the dub for FMA, and while it's not bad it still just takes me out of it for some reason and I can't watch it like that. Ditto, HxH is great, love it, Flexie has enough long running shows that I'd rather choose anything that's only a few seasons over another multi-hundred episode series. Some long running and a revolving door of finished shows I think makes a better mix of content.

I would recommend watching first ep of Code Geass in sub and dub as well. I always recommend the dub but it is your choice. With FMAB I have no clue which one, its been years since i watched that, but watch Code Geass like once a year.

What genre is Black Clover for you to say that? Because I feel its the same genre as Naruto, FMAB, HXH, etc which makes it very low. Really don't understand the love for that show, a bunch of unlikable to mediocre characters and a cliche/predictable plot. I swear BC fans literally only just started existing this year.

I think 30 is a bit of an exaggeration. I felt like he calmed down around episode 9. Once Magna showed up and screaming became Magna's gimmick, Asta chilled out pretty significantly. I did a watch through first in sub and then rewatched it dub with a friend and I think both are pretty good. I think the sub beats it out by little though.

Idk, the sub has a dedicated fan base so I could see it being close. Plus I think Flexie has mentioned multiple times that sub is her preference generally. I’m usually neutral in the whole “sub vs dub” conversation, but if I watched the show on Toonami I can only watch it dubbed. I couldn’t watch her Cowboy Bebop reactions because they were in sub. It’s a bummer but the nostalgia is too strong with that relatively small group of shows.

let'me be real with you, that question is really hard to answer but i will try to explain how i personally feel. its not really about understanding the words, so the subtitles wouldnt do much. if you grew up with subbed anime, the japanese perfomances are the characters and everything else is interpreted through that. voice tone, timing, phrasing, etc even if you turn on subtitles with the dub, you’re still hearing a different performance, different timing, different emotional weight, different cadence and the script also have localization choices tied to specific time and place of the american culture. the text and the voice aren’t actually expressing the same thing the same way. for people without "toonami" nostalgia, the en dub isn’t neutral, its another layer of translation. subbed keeps you tied to the original acting, which is what preserves immersion for us. in the end, it comes down to preference and this discussion nevers ends cause there's no objective best answer but for a lot of non-native speakers, en dub doesnt have that same nostalgic pull. it’s usually either the original one or their own language that feels more natural.

I think it's better than HxH and Full Metal. The show it's closest to would be Fairy-tail. That i like better. Asta is annoying but I like him. I probably like this one because he is a bit like Natsu .

How is saying I don't understand unkind? You expand your viewpoint by hearing others thoughts. All I said is the general consensus. I've never heard, even people that like BC, that its the best of its genre. Maybe I came off a little aggressive but the push for FLEXIE to react to 170 episodes of something that I think takes the place of something much more worth watching is annoying to me. Seeing the that Fairytail is mentioned in their other post I kind of understand their viewpoint. Now I personally don't agree Fairytail was something I could never get into due to it all feeling like filler, BC I at least could grasp. Hell I originally enjoyed it reading the manga only until a certain point (When the base goes full howls moving castle) when I just stopped caring, I just realized I didn't like a single character.

Had to pay for black clover can’t wait for it to come! Hope you watch it in sub as well the main character voice is annoying to some but the voice actor was new having that be his first main role and 2nd role overall but it gets way better quick. His Va is goated and he’s somebody you know well.

Ngl, I say boruto with fillers. It’s not as great as Naruto or shippuden but as another commenter said, they add MASSIVE character development, and I’m pretty sure my favorite arc might be considered filler so…

Ngl Boruto with SOME fillers would be dope... there are really good guides out there. Some "fillers/anime canon" add cool stuff to characters...
