LETS GOOOOOO 😍😍

Charles

Noya has some of my absolute favourite lines right before or during a match. Just a constant inspiration. He knows how to pick the team's spirits up 🥰 And we figured the first half of the episode would be very relatable for you. That's the nature of competitive sports/activities, right? If there's winners, there has to be losers. But everyone that goes to these tournaments trains and aims to win. The passion needed is commendable.

yesss ive been waiting for you to get to this episode! The music during that montage of pain, sadness, and regret that caps off the first half of this episode is so powerful. Gotta love that string section, especially those cellos and contrabass. and then that slow, mournful rendition of the central motif from the volleyball theme. I think the track on vol.2 of the OST is named after the episode.

Maybe we *shouldn't* comment about future episodes on a blind reaction to the show?

It's haikyuu day let's goooo 🔥

I always get teary eyed in this episode, they portray the feelings so well. I also love the moment we see Daichi's friend Ikejiri in Hinata's eyes - Hinata knows the feeling that Ikejiri is feeling in that moment, all the loss, the regret, sadness.

This is the essence of Haikyuu, the ability for the audience to connect to complete strangers through a shared experience. We've been there, we know someone who's been there, and all that puts you back in those moments. The best part for me about this episode is that when they're thinking about all the things they feel they could've done better, their preparation might have been perfect and they would still feel that regret. You always second guess yourself after the fact, even when in the moment you had really done the best you could.

Noya's strength is that he's ok being a supporting team player. Which only makes him a core player in the team. He's the NCO of the group. He doesn't want to be a leader, but at the same time he is so committed to playing his part. Its the people like Noya that make the team what it is.

This episode brought back so many memories of playing basketball growing up. They really approach it all so perfectly in this show!

That "losers" montage is one of my favorite scene in the entire anime. It is done shockingly well, with the emotion meter cranked up to 11.

Volley ball really is a savage sport in the sense, that one can totally just focus and destroy the weak link on the other team. Like the girls team losing, the figured out the one girl couldn't receive well, and just sent every serve her way. That is brutal, to be that person, would be so terrible. No wonder Asahi cracked after getting blocked so many times.

Albeit not one of the most exciting episodes, it surely is one of the best in this entire series. In every sports tournament, there's only 1 winner and all the rest are losers. There is a possibility that the most memorable moment from a tournament comes from a losing team, but in the end the Champion is the only one etched in the history books despite all the losers being part of the vast majority. Today's Name Drop is the school of our next opponent, Date Technical High School. In Japan, technical high schools are high schools specializing in manufacturing, engineering, workshops, etc. Kids that go to these schools generally will either find work or advance to college specifically in the industrial sector. Date comes from Masamune Date who was a feudal lord reigning over the Miyagi area in the 1600's.

one of the greatness of haikyuu is they never mock the loser, at the end of the day it is a game, there will always be a winner and a loser, the winner just the one that do better at that time

When Chuck Norris died he was reincarnated as Noya.
