Peak story, peak reveal, peak animation, peak episode.

Alex Hencher

Well, it only a little past midnight, who needs to sleep for work when there's fullmetal

snowie

Quite the cour one finale, eh? Such an intense reveal for Bradley, and we get to see just how capable that man is. One of my favourite things about this series is how quickly questions can get answered. Others might dwell on a particular point for entire seasons before a reveal, but for FMA it happens almost straight away, but then in doing so presents even MORE questions. It's such a compelling way to tell the story, and I always enjoy seeing it unfold in real time with reactions such as yours! To that end, I'd say yours is one of my favourites. You're asking the right questions, catching things others might not, and genuinely attempting to engage with the material beyond just being reactionary. So good.

Zo

The new OP comes next episode 🙌 Hoping she can react to the first one then !

IAMONE

The story just gets better and better.

Maxter of puppets

The fact that you didn’t process the twist until later made it so much better lol this is PEAK not just anime but in storytelling!

Gpinko

Flexie.exe is broken 🤣 I’m so sorry but I was laughing at your very chill reaction to Bradley’s eye, only to realize way later what that ACTUALLY MEANT and have a new spiral. YEAH! SURPRISE! The Leader of this Country is a Homonculous. And we’re only on episode 14. Greed RIP you will be missed.

Naogin

Yup pretty good, FMAB is top 1 for a reason, they don't make it like this anymore, Story, Animation, VA, music, the whole package, also pay special attention of what they speak, is pretty subtle but packed with substance, for example Bradley asking Ed if he didn't got "more information" it wasn't for military purposes it was for him to see if greed spelled the beans about the homonculus , also he was actually threatening on Izumi, strap In, the suspense of the story is about to get even bigger

Gustav

Lol you not realizing the huge reveal of Bradley being a humunculus while fighting greed was too funny but it was so great seeing it hit you all at once. Considering that Bradley is a public figure, it was pretty smart for father to have him age since it would draw attention if people noticed he never ages.

Saban

I promised myself I wouldnt say anything more about it but damn the subtitles are bad. The VAs are amazing but the translations are so half assed. Anyway great episode and great reaction, definitely one worth rewatching to try and absorb everything

killezio3 killezio3

Yup, thats why i prefer the dub in this show too, the VAs and the lines are way better

Temojikato

saying the VA's and the lines are better is crazy - did you fully misunderstand their comment and still say 'yup'?

dthorizon

yes ask a million questions sister lol

Ríon

The great thing about Fullmetal Alchemist is... once you know the answers, it all seems so obvious during a rewatch/reread. Glad to be reminded it actually is NOT, and to see you aren't putting all the things together, yet. ;3c Be aware though, this anime is taunting you, Flexie Jay. ;) As it has taunted us all! ( ̄^ ̄)ゞ

Ríon

Oh! Was just wondering when you'll be reacting to the opening? :3c Now that's it's changed to Opening 2 from next episode, have your mods deemed it safe enough yet? X'Pc

killezio3 killezio3

True, my bad. The VAs here are great and in the dub as well. But the lines are considerably better in the dub simply because the subtitles here aren't good

Sindri

and at the same time missing some of the most on the nose reveals imaginable. That Oroboros tattoo on the eye is for all of us a 🤯 moment. For Flexie it was a 😊 moment with a sudden 😲 🤦‍♀️ moment 10 minutes later. So funny 😂

Paweł Kapusta

You are so in... and lemme tell you, the truth is crazier than your wildest predictions could ever get

Treborsel

End of season 1 is amazing.

APieceOfCoffee

Weeeee! It's turning into a nice thick soupy plot! I bust out laughing when you realized later Bradley the leader of the country was a homunculus. Keep up that thinking machine, you're gonna have a blast

Arronax06

Oh, I love the concept of greed meaning that you won't let your subordinates be hurt because they are YOURS and no one hurts what yours! I do think they might have been able to do more with it though.

Djoebie

It's been a while since I last saw FMA Brotherhood, but boy, I'm having fun rewatching it with you.

dairyhouse

This FMAB reaction is everything I ever wanted lol So glad you're watching it!! Its been a crazy ride so far.

James B

I don't know what the subtitles are supposed to say, but if the phrase, "Daddy sir," from Greed is wrong, I don't want to be right. It's so freaking hilarious.

Steve Lefebvre

Man, I honestly forgot how truly GREAT the fight between Bradley and Greed is. The choreographing of it definitely outdoes anything prior in the show, though of course it is out done later.

Anastachia Reactions

to this day martel being murdered inside al's body is one of the most disturbing/traumatizing things to me. Out of all the trauma in this show that one has stood out to me every time i watch it. I can't *imagine* being Al in that situation.

charmaster006 snow

best anime ever made, and im living right now for these reactions. will be with you till the end. glad your loving it!

Gabriel Souza

Story- and construction-wise, this is one of the best anime ever made. Every time you watch it, it's a whole new journey.

AttackRunRepeat

I can't believe we're only on episode 14. Rewatching this show really gives you this lens of how well put together the story is. A line here, a scene there, a blink and you'll miss it moment, ugh it's so good.

Joel Mitchell

Ugh Father's Japanese voice dub is so underwhelming! The English dub for him is SO good. You should do the second half of the show in the dub!

Andy Hinton

I was out of town for a week so im back now on Thursday. 100% made my day, driving 8 hrs sucks.

Gunta_Artes

This episode is pretty much a horror movie. I'd be severely traumatized knowing that someone inside me was killed like that and when I wake up, their blood is all over the place and inside me... wow.

DthDisguise

So, more fun FMA 2003 talk: This is the point in the story where the two stories diverge. The original anime caught up to the manga at this point(Which was episode 28 in the original) and from here on, rather than do a bunch of filler or end the show on a cliffhanger, they decided to continue on, creating a new ending for the story. Some elements, like King Bradley being a Humunculus stay the same, but others, like the Father character, and the origin of the Humunculi are completely changed, as well as the Humunculi's entire plan that drives the ending of the series. In another instance of the original drawing out some of the story more, Marta actually didn't die here, and became a regular side character just hiding inside of Al's armor going forward. Greed also survived this part and played a role later in the story. I would definitely recommend giving the 2003 anime a watch, maybe on your own time if people don't want to watch a reaction series, after you finish Brotherhood.

BulldogB

I had to pause it at 18:06 to answer your questions. If you realized what happened later, forgive me for speaking out of line. When that girl's blood splattered on his seal it unlocked his memories, and what you saw was, I believe, the equivalent exchange. Al ended up giving up his whole body to that entity just to end up as part of their partially recovered mother. The problem was, his body and what was taken from Ed (his leg), wasn't enough to bring her back fully, thus why it ended up the way it did. The law of equivalent exchange means giving up an equivalent amount, and to bring back a full-grown adult took not just the materials they prepared, but also an equivalent exchange in flesh/souls. That's not supposed to be a spoiler, by the way, but how I interpreted that specific scene.

Zero

I don't know if you noticed, but the VA for Father is also the VA for Nefertari Cobra, Vivi's father in One Piece. It's actually quite unsettling to hear his voice coming from the evil Father in this episode.

Karatsuki

Now Hughes discovery starts making sense, when he found out he asked "who ordered this" and immediately realised that the military leadership is corrupt then he rushed out saying the military is in danger

VOID Alchemist

So this episode brings up an interesting interpretation of the story i have, which is, i think that the only reason ed was able to bind al's soul to the armor was because it had tried to bond itself to the body they made, perhaps even as part of the ongoing transmutation attempt. Had al's soul not bonded to thr body, i suspect ed wouldn't have been able to bind it before it dissipated or moved to the next realm or what have you.

Tacosareneat

12:15 holy shit flexie the reaction you gave here from the mid episode card was the same as when a white haired anime Chad appears 😂 you were so caught off guard

Frozen

was wondering if you somehow just didnt register the oroborus eye 🤣

Alibey Bal

I like that interpretation.

Alibey Bal

I'm guessing the 2003 version probably follows the manga better than Brotherhood until the divergence point. I like this anime but they cut a lot of stuff from the manga.

MeatMechArchitect

If you think about it, Armstrong is an old Johnny Bravo.
