It juts feels like a long moment because the pacing is beginning to drag at this point. Think of some of the moments in other long running shone like Naruto or Bleach when it felt like not much happened in a single episode. It’s not terrible yet but you’re starting to notice it

I love Usopp. Here's my thing, and I'm not saying this to tell anyone they have to like Usopp. Do what you want. But you can't demand of Usopp, you just gotta be patient with him. He will come through in his own way at his own time. Courage doesn't mean changing into a macho man on a whim, it's a growing thing over time, and it spawns from fear. You can find courage if you were never afraid to begin with. If you demand him to get over his fear and act now, when you want, he will always disappoint, 100% of the time. Because his character isn't like Franky, Zoro, Luffy, Robin, or Sanji. He's a fearful man to begin with, who lies and avoids danger until he can't anymore, then he summons the courage to risk his life when he has no other option. But I can understand some people not liking it. That's fine tho, you don't have to like it. IMO, the point of One Piece is that you will like and dislike, love, and be indifferent, be frustrated or really enjoy all the different characters.

I know the moment is played for laughs, but I find Usopp's immunity to Perona genuinely moving. My sister has dealt with pretty extreme anxiety and depression for her entire life, and one of the worst parts of it is dealing with people who just don't get it. It takes a lot of effort for her to do some things that other people might find trivial. Imagine someone going to physical therapy for months to regain the ability to walk on their own. That's a huge accomplishment, you wouldn't go "Its not a big deal, it's just walking." But sadly, that's the way mental illness is treated sometimes. When the "stronger" Straw hats get a taste of what Usopp has been dealing with this whole time, they can't function. Usopp's ability to persevere despite the negativity is treated as the super power that it is. Perona even makes the same face as Enel lol.

From the very first moment we met the first two warlords, we already realized there got to be a different strength levels between them. Because I wouldn't count Crocodile as same level as Mihawk, who's Zoro's end goal.

I remember finding it deeply frustrating coming from the manga. What was one panel gets drawn out for 2-5 mins. Sometimes their translations of panels is amazing... and other times I just want to be like "WHY?!?!?!?!"

So it's surely just a funny gag but if you look a little deeper into that Usopp twist, it gets pretty sad. Perona's powers will get you to think the absolute worst ideas about yourself, like some real self harm type thoughts....and Usopp's just like "yeah that's cute, been there done that" Idk that's always been like low key concerning to me and I can't help but worry for this kid. Usopp ganbare!!

You actually could play Franky in a video game and built this exact bridge with him. When I was younger I played games called "One Piece Unlimited Cruise" for the Nintendo Wii. At that time I have not been watching One Piece anymore because I only watched it as a child on TV and at some point I watched less and less anime on TV. Before I played the games I only watched episodes up until Skypiea, so when I started the games and saw Franky and the Sunny I had no idea what was going on. And at some point I encountered Oars as a boss, which was quite epic. After playing the games I started watching One Piece and started my first complete watchthrough starting from episode 1 to the current episode. Since then I am always up to date with One Piece. Gotta be somthing between 12-14 years now, maybe 15. But I am still happy like a child every week that I can read a new chapter. In fact One Piece brought me back to anime in general, because after I started One Piece, I also started Naruto, Fullmetal Alchemist, Code Geass, Death Note and so on and so on. All thanks to One Piece and Oda-sensei <3

You had 2 excellent catches in the encounter with Perona. The first is Zoro not running away against the oncoming Negative Hollows because "Wounds on the back are a swordsman's shame." The second is Usopp's comment after he was hit by the Negative Hollow not being as pitiful as the others because we find out soon after that it had not affected him. FYI, the manga chapter equivalent to episode 356 is titled "Ghost Buster."

Fair point….but I honestly find that One Pace has its own issues as well. Neither is perfect. Right now it’s not terrible yet. We all know when it will become worse. But honestly this is my preferred way to watch the anime nowadays. Find a reactor that I like and watch along with them in small chunks. It keeps me engaged. If I wanna experience the story again for myself I just reread the manga. We all had sky high hopes for the Wit remake and we will see how it pans out but I never really believed we would get a full remake all the way through. Too much time money and effort for someone to tackle. And really it’s a shame since it’s much later on when we really need it. Not at the beginning or even now honestly.

Flexie, remember that Franky grew up on scrap island in water 7 building entirely functional battle ships out of literal scrap/junk, including live ammunition. Building a bridge is a piece of cake for him, although the joke was how fast he did it. Franky has been feeling Suuuper during these episodes. I love how he was fixing his hair after Oars crashed on them.

To be fair, theres so many inconsistencies with power levels, especially in the later episodes, and what can kill a person in One Piece. Pell can survive a nuke and point blank but other stronger characters will die to a small explosion.
