Yeah, this wasn't one of the high points of Sanji's career. He does have...other reasons for wanting the Clear Clear fruit, but sometimes Oda feels the need to turn the perv level up to 11 for the sake of the gag.

Gonna be real here. This stuff with Sanji and Absalom is some of my least favorite One Piece content. Oda should've taken a cold shower before he wrote this arc.

I love Sanji, but sometimes I could do without some of the humor. Although... it’s a common take that this arc does a lot of comparing and contrasting between characters, and tying Absalom and Sanji together that way puts Absalom’s force and disrespect right up against Sanji’s care. But I could have still done without the humor... and Absalom... could have done without him entirely, haha.

Sometimes Oda makes my man Sanji dirty just to pull off some dirty humor, I prefer to just ignore ir when Sanji start acting out of character for me 😂😂

I really like the 1vs1 in Thriller Bark, some of the best in the entire series. Sanji's fight is hilarious, Zorro has one of the coolest straight up swordfights and Ussop's is all around great.

Honestly this is one of the worst Sanji moments. Even if it's mostly play for "fun" he is still a pervert... he is not "Absalom bad" but is still bad. I just prefer to ignore this trait of him honestly to not taint him...

This is the first time we're really seeing Usopp losing the psychological warfare. There have been many times where he has been overpowered but rarely have we seen him outsmarted. Alas, Usopp channeled his inner-Sogeking to help him overcome the overpowered portion of the battle and coach him through the psychological part.

I really hate that Sanji says it's his dream to have that fruit. Saying he wants it is bad enough, but saying it's his dream is so bad that I don't know what to do other than just ignore that this ever happened. One Piece is about dreams, and Sanji's dream of finding the All Blue is one of the reasons he's on this crew in the first place. Comparing that to this is depressing.

Sanji and Absalom...they're the same picture. Sanji gets worse however. He's the one crew member who could die and I'd smile.

This starts a few arcs of lessened "aura" lets say for Sanji, but he more than makes up for it later on! And to his credit, despite his words, he still treats Nami with complete respect the whole time despite her being unconscious.

No Sanji has gotten much better in the recent arcs, unless you decide to consider Toei trashing him in spite of Oda’s wishes. Also, movie joke don’t define the character, not written by Oda. Oda himself has pushed against Sanji thinking this things in the previous arc

I don't think it's out of character, it's just part of him. He holds women on a pedestal in his very unique way and maybe it is even relatable for some people. Either way he is a very cool and kind character.

He is inded very cool and kind most of the times, that's why I don't agree with potraying him as this pervert man just for the jokes, I think it would be much more fiting for him and his character to respect women and not act like a pervert around them, but Oda chose to make him dirty like that 'cause that's one kind of japanese humor.

Sogeking to the rescueeee!!!!!!!!! My dawg! Also, people hating on Sanji, relax, it's a joke. Stop taking things so seriously, it's fiction. It's not end of the world that he made a pervy joke. By that same reason, every crew member should be your least favorite cause they were defeated by Nami's happiness punch. Oda writes the manga for teenage boys too, especially back then. And this is the culture amongst teenage boys in Japan, and really everywhere. Which teenage guy didn't like talking about girls and said some shit that adult you would be like, "grow up?" In middle school, some of my friends (not me) snuck into the girls tents during a field trip and they all got suspended. Do you think they regret it now? Yes, but then, hell nah they would have done it again. You don't have to like it, but y'all act like other manga don't have WAAAAAY worse *coughs* Naruto, Konohamaru, and Jiraiya *cough* *cough*

That’s not true. He cares about her health. As a chef he gives the girls the best, freshest cuts of meat and fish and make sure their diet is well balanced, and was incredibly concerned when Nami was sick. If you dislike this one moment - that’s fine but it isn’t fine to just forget every other aspect of his character. He got stabbed and is still thinking about her not himself. She looks beautiful and doesn’t wanna bleed all over here lol just wanted to remind you he cares about her health and every other part of her. He also always says how smart she is as a navigator.
