Sorry for swearing but...where the fuck were Isshin and Ryuken in all of this? They didn't even fight their wives killer? They didn't help their sons? I hope to god they're dead because they dropped to scum for me lol. I genuinely hate them both at this point. Awesome episode though and I love how so many characters helped out and it wasn't just Ichigo who dealt with the final boss.

cass

peak is back baby 🔥 the episode was insane, so many visuals and all the characters just looked so so good can’t believe we did it FINALLY

victoria t

Yeah this a common complaint

Liam Perryman

It’s kind of sad that Yhwach thought he could change fate. He was going to lose regardless. Remember, the Soul King was already omnipotent. He knew what he needed to do to prevent the destruction of Soul Society. Yhwach’s fate was already written in stone. SMH.

Borja Perez

Man… aside from the visuals and the “hype,” this ending was as bad as in the manga... Yhwach is just a terrible villain, so overpowered that there was no reason at all to defeat him other than the power of friendship xD. Also, the balance of victory vs. sacrifice to achieve it is almost nonexistent; no one important dies in this arc (aside from Yamamoto, but that was a given). I don't know; this whole arc leaves me with a bittersweet feeling. Really cool moments, lots of transformations and Bankais and everything, but it didn't feel so rewarding story-wise… I totally understand why it took so many years to decide to animate it. In any case, I really like Bleach overall, and I'm glad that its anime is finally finished.

In the scene where Ichigo was training to get his bankai, in the soul society arc in OG series, Zangetsu told Ichigo "I can only be defeated by that blade". And we see the original zangetsu blade in the final moment. Peak foreshadowing!! Love this series!!

dthorizon

Glad you're doing better flex

The way I see things is that Yhwach was way too arrogant and relied way too much on The Almighty to the point where he forgot how to properly fight himself. The almighty this, the almighty that, "I've seen that!", "I already know the future" and so on. And that downfall was REALLY quick. Just go back to his fight with Ichibei. He was able to tank hits that would literally turn anyone else to atoms, yet in his Almighty + Soul King form he was easily injured even by Shikai strikes just because "Oh yes, I change the future anyway". If only he kept his composure and fought normally, no one would even be able to scratch him. Not only that, but given that there IS someone with a legitimate shot at fighting you (Uryuu with his Antithesis, which Yhwach himself was aware of), that's even more of a reason to be on guard rather than be so laid back. Compare it to video games, he was pretty much a cheater with infinite health, yet forgot turn "God Mode" on so he was still vulnerable by one-shot mechanics like the arrow.

Vyalkuran

Time and time again I see fiction writers getting stuck with the same problem. As soon as they target "concepts" as a power system, there is no balanced way to powerscale (I'm looking at you Araki with every major villain having time-based abilities). With Yhwach specifically, it's not that the story itself is bad, because he is portrayed from the beginning as some sort of "Higher Being", given he's the son of the Soul King, but because of that, it's hard to get emotionally attached to him as a character. All other villains have reasons, hardships they have previously faced that drove them to specific decisions, but with Yhwach it was pretty much a family feud of greater beings where lesser beings were unnecessarily caught up in. What his character lacked was humanization. Show him during his time in the world of the living, make him become more "human" in his interactions, make him lose things that can be relatable (i.e: a loved person).

Adrian Sørlie

Damn Yhwach, Alucard wants his moves back :P

Tensa

i started crying half way through the ep, i love and adore this series and im so glad to be able to see you react to it!!!!

Borja Perez

Absolutely! That explains much better my own feelings about him hahah

2026-10-22 17:00 So Zangetsu’s TRUE purpose/power is to challenge fate itself. Because Yhwach can determine a future it allows Ichigo to defy his fate. The part of the blade that shattered at the end was actually just the sheath for the blade revealing the actual cutting edge. I’m unsure if the anime will touch on Ichigo’s powers after this but an answer was given in the light novels. Whether it’s talked about in the finale, idk might be a stretch

True Zangetsu used at the end is when the Outer layer of Tensa Zangetsu that represents the scabbard of the zanpakuto is removed and absorbed by ichigo. Think how his OG shikai unravels but not fabric.

HaruhiDream

People keep complaining about power of friendship and I have to wonder if they paid attention to what was happening at all. Grimmjow modified by Urahara stopped Ywach's Blut Vene. Kyoraku held him in place using the Soul King's arm of stillness. And Uryu's arrow broke his Almighty. All of these are things that were hinted towards or built up throughout this arc. There was clear intent and planning behind everything to bring down Ywach's defenses enough for a deciding blow. Power of friendship would have been if they all just won without any of that planning just because they worked together and for no other reason.

Siva K

I think in a q&a kubo said that the white part is always been a sheath for holding the true bankai. If I remember correctlyi could be wrong. The power of its bankai is to break fate

songokuaka23

You should rest. Get well soon. Gute Besserung.

TheRollingWrath888

Yhwach broke Flexie’s spirit many times over. 😂

2026-10-21 07:00 1:49 as far as I know, there's been no official confirmation we're even getting the Hell Arc. It's just pure fan speculation at this point, me included. I hope Bleach isn't ending.

As for my thoughts. It took me a rewatch or two. Good as it is...I overall found it lackluster, even without having any expectations. The animation is beautiful, and the action is top notch. But I feel like Juha was far more component in ep45. Constantly killing both Ichigo and Orihime again and again, meanwhile not killing anyone at here. Plus as others mentioned, no Isshin or Ryuken. A dual father-son tag team would've been an amazing addition, IMO. Then in the final moments during the battle in the WotL, Shunsui using Kageoni to have Ryonuske deliver the final blow makes no sense. He's not a member of the main cast, or that important or strong. Having such a weak character that close to such an overwhelmingly strong character should've either killed him, like Aizen wandering around KT in his Chrysalis transformation, or at least knocked out. Any of the Captains or lieutenants would've made more sense.

Kage Uzumaki

Yeah people didn't even get was going on.

Joël Russell

I was starting to think it was all over and Ywach had won. It was so peak. Such a tense moment and with no music, no sound and that transition at end! Absolute fire. I was on the edge of my seat the entire episode.

adam john peters

Ichigo still has all of his powers just for clarification he could still use blood chains ichigo but ichigos mana is very drained

wileykat

God bless you Flexie

Glad you’re feeling better and thanks for your reaction! This was wildly different from the manga but did a really good job of showing how narrow the margin of error was and how every single contribution was necessary. If Komamura doesn’t jump down when he does, the eyes don’t shift their focus away from Shunsui’s team for half a second. For all the goofiness of Nell stopping the apocalypse with her skull, she’s the difference between 99 and 100% obliteration. What I like about all this is that it hints at how Yhwach, even though he could see everything, arrogantly chose not to. He predicts Ichigo’s bankais, everyone’s super moves, but misses all the small role players doing all the small essential things to win. He CHOOSES to interpret his loss to Ichigo as a dream instead of a future. In a story that ends with Ichigo hitting with the base base form of his blade, and a show that has always been what we choose to do with our power (protect, reject etc) showing that omniscience is meaningless if you choose to ignore or dismiss what it shows you is so interesting and poetic. Very excited to see how they wrap this all up. Hopefully this was healing for you! I know the past few episodes have been a despair train.

Kid just called the Head Captain a "weak character" yeah youre a larper

2026-10-23 17:00 I didn't say Shunsui. I said Ryonuske, who Shunsui had hide in Kageoni, one of the two Shinigami assigned to patrol Karakura Town at the beginning of Cour 1? Learn to read, kid.

There was nothing they could do, yes some assistance would've helped but the sliver arrow was the only thing capable of stopping his powers and ichigo being the only one capable of killing him. They entrusted their sons and had faith in them, what's wrong with that

George

If you're didn't realize it, that final scene is in the opening at the end. The slash

George

Fr, where was this power of friendship 😂 everything contributed to bringing down his defenses for ichigo to win. And they kept getting up as defeat wasn't an option, do no matter how messed up they got, they had to destroy his defenses

Xev

That's not true at all, that's just fan theory and bs since people speculated what True Bankai did. It's just false. Ichigo's actions and determination are what shattered fate, not his sword's power

Paweł Kapusta

Ishida had a flashback from the first episodes where they first met and Ichigo blocked menos grande cero with his sword...the translation had many minor errors but not a big deal

Ben

I enjoyed the episode even if I have my quibbles with it. Still better than the manga ending but it is still plauged by issues that were present there. I've come to terms that this is kubos vision though so as long as it ended in a way he is happy with it's all good. Ywhach as a villain falls into the old omnipotent villain trope which I think could have been avoided if the almighty had some draw backs or more overt weaknesses. I would have been happy if he still canceled out orihimes attack but she left a scar or a weak point on him that they could have exploited. But all in all I am happy with how this fight resolved and I am curious how the next episode will wrap it all up since we have 1 chapter left to cover

Libra

honestly what u said about orihime attack would have been very cool way to do it

Libra

the biggest let down for me was ryonuske getting the final attack, a character no one cares about. meanwhile rukia didnt get any moments since the as nodt fight. rukia could have meet up with the rest of the soul reapers and been the one that came out of shunsui shadow. also Nel in her adult form piercing ywach with her spear would have been better then the comedy arrancars doing the final. overall i think it was a good ending not great tho, to many wrong choices (the fathers and aizen not being involved)

Ataith

I'm just glad Soi Fon got some screen time lol

AdFox

Leaving out possible translation errors (like the timeskip part of the question, where I'm not sure if the person asking was talking about the game or the hell arc), this is what I could find about Zangetsu from Kubo's Klub Outside Q&A:

AutumnOnFire

Okay, then I am still genuinely confused. What is Ichigo's "Tensa Zangetsu" bankai then?? Because it sounds like Tensa Zangetsu is just his old shikai with the White scabbard shell (the one that gets crushed by Yhwach). So the inner part is his Bankai.... but it's just his old Shikai, or what we thought was his old shikai... I guess I just haven't seen it do anything different. It's always just been Getsuga Tenshou & kill god.

Ilsuk Yang

I love seeing Byakuya using his zanpakuto's abilities to push and boost the makeshift platform the captains are standing on 🔥 One more episode

malealoo

Been watching this show since the first episode aired on Adult Swim in 2006. 20 years later... I'm not ready for it to be over on Monday

Mirana

This episode blew me away. In the manga at this part it was just Ichigo and Uryu. Never expected Ganju, Pesche and Iba to come in clutch here at all!

Masterprick1

When Orihime restored Ichigo's Bankai we saw Ichigo in his inner world with a white and black "sun" merging. Those were his powrrs being restored.
