THE WAIT HAS ENDED THANK YOU FLEXIE

Hayden Emery

(p.s. i hope you're feeling 1,000,000x better!)

Patrick Jocel Sarabia

think of it like Jekyll and Hyde. 2 personalities, 1 body. if one sleeps, one takes over. it goes the same for Greed. he loose control over the body of Ling, Ling takes over. Ling is there. just overpowered by Greed.

I love this episode. Basically a chance to let us cool down and reflect on everything we've learned. But also, one of my favourite bits is how our core cast, in the face of the big bad, re-affirms their convictions. As much as they (Wrath) might try to deter them, I think he just stoked the fire in their spirits. Also, great to see you feeling better! Hopefully the recovery has been smooth.

In the manga the reason for Dr Knox divorce was because he was having PTSD flashbacks that were straining the relationship, and one night nearly strangled his wife in his sleep. War is ugly and it destroys people .

6:57 I think Al doesn't feel anything at all since his metal body doesn't have nerve endings. It's one of the sad states of his existence is that he can't feel, he can't even sleep either. But when the snake girl chimera went in to control him, he says it felt really weird.

I've always interpreted Ling's coming through here as exactly what Wrath says: "there is no limit to the greed of humans". It's not just that Ling voluntarily let Greed take over, but that he is so, so, so determined (greedy) to have it all that he is pushing back against Greed and, like Greed said, just waiting for any opportunity to take back over. It's his own "madada" . Also the writing on the scarf/rag that is given to Lan Fan (which is also interesting. Did Ling come back out and write that? Or did Greed do it at his request? And if so, why? That has always fascinated me) is in Chinese. It was wild to read that in real time when I first watched this before Lan Fan explained it.

Pod Rider

15:43 did you notice the little panda in Al's mouth 😂 I've just noticed that for the first time ever

After watching FMAB und One Piece so many times, it took me still until today to notice that the VA for doctor Knox here and Whitebeard in One Piece was the same. Still a loss that he died in 2019. Great VA

I really like eds casual fit. Combined with lings comment that when Ed does alchemy he looks like he is praying, his black pants, white shirt and black overcoat are really giving priest to me (specifically Catholic priest) .

This was another one of those episodes where the english dub really impressed me. The voice actors for Ling and Greed going back and forth on the roof with Wrath blew my mind. And they really nailed the casting too. The english voice for Ling is Todd Haberkorn and Greed is Troy Baker. Worth a re-listen to on your own time if you want to.

I need more fma tbh 🥹🥹🐐

Armstrong is the manliest character in anime! Followed only by Yami! And I’m glad you’re doing better Flexie!! Always prioritize yourself because there is no channel without you! And as your audience we need to remember you are a human that needs rest and recovery!

Holly Chaisson

It's so hard to tell with the Japanese voice actors. You can tell the difference between Ling and Greed in the English dub.

Gpinko

Yes Greed in Ling's body is pretty strange huh 😂 at least we know he's still in there. Gives another meaning to "at war with yourself" lol. Princess May Chang yesss we knew she was a Princess, she just doesn't come from a clan of very high status so she probably doesn't look like your typical idea of "princess", unlike Ling with his two bodyguards. His clan is probably more prominent, while her clan is pretty poor on the spectrum of the Xing Empire. Interesting thoughts to think about with the Homunculus. Both Gluttony and Greed were re-absorbed into Father and he created new ones, and gave Gluttony his memories, while the new Greed doesn't have any. Lust was burned to ash...so Father can't create a new Lust because that part of his soul was destroyed. I'm glad you're feeling better! Getting sick is rough but rest is important! See you for the next one ☺️

Dang, thought you’d be watching dub. The sub just makes Ed sound like a squealing high school girl all the time and the Japanese actors just hint have the same impact as in English

Christopher Sanders

yeah this anime is great for the mindfucks theres acharoiii

Wyld89

Remember, Wrath was the first Homonculus created by using a human host. Ling/Greed was the second. THEY are the weirdly created ones. All the rest of the Homonculi were created from Father's body, like Gluttony is currently. There's 2 type of Homonculi - ones created by Father (pure), and human hosted ones. Unlike Gluttony and Greed who were re-created after their stones returned to Father, Lust's stone never returned to him. It was destroyed

JojoJack

Dr Knox’s VA also voiced Whitebeard

Buzzard

That look on Wrath's face is priceless.😆

BoyBovine

Lusts Philosopher Stone was Destroyed so it could never be absorbed by Father, otherwise I think we would have seen her by now.

BigHeadClan

21:20 - Its harder to pickup in the Sub but in the Dub there is a very, very big difference in the vocal range between Greed and Ling so you get the exact same shock Wrath gets here. His reaction is 10/10 and always makes me laugh and a rare moment you see him actually caught off guard.

Illiterate Mochi

Tbh I’m so used to Greed being in Ling’s body that his original body feels odd to me lol Also, that quote from Roy about feeling human when he’s fighting real monsters is one of my favorite quotes from the whole show Next episode is gonna be a rough one but it’s so so good

Frozen

6:46 the enviest envy has ever been lmao

Frozen

because she was forcing his body to move, so it "felt weird" even tho he isnt feeling it thru nerves

Mcdiddys

TIM YOU GOOD? Is an absolute all timer lmfao

Sakamoto Plays

The concept of “Hope” and this show are fascinating to look at together. So many characters refuse to hope in favor of effort and exploration, while others are held together by it and their faith in being able to change systems (thinking of Armstrong and Ling heavy these past episodes). Your journey and insights are wonderful as always, I can’t wait to see how things unfold as you learn (and maybe hope more… or less!) as eps go on! A phenomenal reaction series so far and one of my favs - rewatching my fav Naruto arcs with you as well now too while I wait for these/One Piece! I hope you’re feeling better! Take all the time you need too - we’ll be here, and so will all that drama in FMAB 😂 🤙

Majority reason why Ed and Al look similiar is because they are the only people with golden hair and pupils we ever see apart from their father unlike amestris and istval for example with blue and red eyes or any mix of them
