IAMONE

Who is she? Baddass is correct

Rose

My Queen! It’s finally time!

Russ Tan

General Grumman is super weird sometimes, but I enjoy him. It's kind of hard imagining that he's Hawkeye's grandfather. Speaking of Generals, I'm so glad you're going to see Major General Armstrong. She's amazing.

NovaVortex

The Empress of the North! 🫡

Matthew

There isn't much I feel okay saying at this point of the story, because you're right on the line of so much happening, and saying basically anything could lead you to a spoiler lol. Scar is an incredible character though, his actions early on are far from moral but you can't help feeling some kind of sympathy as you learn more of what pushed him there

Russ Tan

Yeah, so they were both named after the Grumman E-2 Hawkeye airplane. It's not actually explicitly covered in either anime or the manga, but the family relationship on her mother's side was revealed in the FMA Perfect Guidebook 2. At one point Grumman even suggests that Roy marry his granddaughter. I'm not even sure if Riza knew though. It was mentioned at some point that both of her parents were estranged from their families.

IAMONE

That "yes yes this is my child" I can't haha

Jaizensama Sosek’e

Scar is my favorite character in FMAB. He is such a nuanced character.

That Guy

Love scar. One of my favorite characters in fiction.

Johan Cruyff is GOATED

Maybe master Hawkeye hating the military might have something to do with this

Shark

half way through

Yes, Kimblee is evil; he killed people in Ishval and knew about the Homunculi, but you have to give him credit, he’s really cunning and capable. You can see that in today’s episode too, when he immediately figures out who the ‘woman’ is and how he’s tracking down Scar. On top of that, he’s charismatic. Sure, he’s a villain and a bastard, but he’s interesting and entertaining to watch.

Tyler

Thank you for the reaction as always! "Maybe I'm just being paranoid..." haha. I don't know if watching Cyberpunk, Code Geass, AND Fullmetal at the same time is good for mental health. Scar, Roy, Bradley are the aura kings for FMAB. I think that Scar is interesting because I dismissed him as the bad heavy early on. But after the encounter with Winry and seeing how much he fully owns his vengeance (like every adult in this show, which I love) when he realizes he was becoming a Kimblee really switched things up for me. But he's also a walking example of what Envy said to Ed in the underground in terms of his adopted arm and even his own emotions: We humans reach for whatever power we can to achieve our goals, even without really understanding it. Whether it's his brother's arm or avenging his life, those things keep Scar going, so he holds on to them without really processing them. But part of what makes humanity great is that we learn. So watching Scar evolve in the finesse of his powers, like destroying only the surface of Marcoh's face (still though, warn him, but I get not wanting to treat the guy who made Kimblee's philosopher stone too kindly), or you'll notice in this episode he destroys a nice, clean, almost Al/Ed-ish square of the ceiling rather than the complete destruction he tends to do, in part because I think he is evolving to care a little bit more about the people he affects with his destruction. It's all subtle and like so many things in this show, the writers don't really draw attention to it but instead let you be awarded for paying attention, but watching those edges soften through his actions, not through any big proclamation, because he's a silent bad-ass, has always been part of my draw to Scar over time. He says so little but also says so much all the time, so I'm always super, super focused on what he does (and doesn't) do when he's on screen.

Lyn

Selim just being the best boy as usual 😇

Ben

I adore scar, his arc is really satisfying and you can tell ever since the confrontation with winry plus being with Mei and youki he has started to mellow out a bit. Probably the best examples of this was his saving of marco and then in the sewers he didn't kill those soldiers chasing him. He merely blocked their path but he could have dropped the ceiling on them.

Can't wait for episode 37

Hard to say too much about Scar right now, but I definitely think he’s probably the most complicated and nuanced character of the entire series. Can’t recall if it’s been mentioned but Arakawa’s family is of Ainu descent, the native peoples of what would later become Japan, so it makes sense that she has such a careful way about writing on such a brutal topic as genocide and its survivors. I really liked what you said about feeling like Hughes was present for that convo in front of his grave and encouraging them from the other side. Anywho buckle up! Time for new characters! Major General Armstrong is very much so a badass 🥰

Gpinko

To the Northern Wall...sounds like another series I know 😂 I think Scar is an amazing character. Hard to say exactly why since we're only halfway through the series, but already you can see his growth from when we first met him. Now that he's met Marco, he has a different focus and goal besides just killing all these State Alchemists. Maybe this plan can actually bring about change, if they can figure it out.

Scar isn’t one of my favorites but I do like him. I’d say that after the brothers, he’s the most important character in the story (tied with Roy). He’s probably represents the themes and messages of the story better than any other character. I like his arc and the dynamics that build with other characters because of that.

Illiterate Mochi

I know it’s a tiny moment, but I love how Roy starts holding back laughter. We don’t see him genuinely laugh very often

BoyBovine

Hey Flexie, is it me or is the name Armstrong not clicking. It’s not like you.

Christopher Sanders

Scar is a fantastic character but he's tied with a lot of spoilers if memory serves. Ah yes the General of the north she is indeed a badass and you'll see real quick why Lt. Armstrong was like here's a letter buuuut it may not help at all.
