making art w/ other artists and pencil sketching (Patreon)

I recently made a friend in my neighborhood who hosts a monthly craft date and I got to try out gelli printing for the first time. it was really fun hanging out with other artists while playing around with a new medium. our hands dirtied with paint, we experimented with the printing plate's unpredictability to constant surprise each time we peeled the paper off to discover the resulting print. I love all the random texture that comes through in this method along with the excitement of not knowing how something is going to turn out.

I've also been experimenting more with different ways to use pencil. I was mainly using it to draw for awhile, but I'm starting to learn how much more mileage I can get out of it through shading, varying line weight, and changing up pressure. I love the versatility that pencil offers and am curious about what else I can learn about the medium as I continue to use it in different ways.
