🎃 the pumpkins made me do it 🍂 | october 2026 BTS (Patreon)

above: the pumpkins in question

for October's mail, I knew from the outset I wanted to go FULL Halloween mode.

I started out with thumbnails, but none of them were exciting me. I could tell I was sticking to my comfort zone and besides the subject matter felt quite 'been there, done that'. y'all know me and how I love drawing a slayful woman (and will do it so gladly with love in my heart!!), but I needed something different to pique my interest this time around.

I'd been having a lot of fun drawing various critters and creatures and thought it was worth a try to bring them into the fold more. I really liked the warm and inviting energy that the animals brought to the artwork, so I just kept going with it.

played around and experimented with a variety of traditional media combos and techniques to see what felt good to use for the stickers. turns out that mixed media is still my favorite! I tried versions with just color pencil or just oil pastel and they always felt like they were missing something...like they needed more oomph!
