SCSKiller 1.3.2

NVIDIA driver 621.01 changed how compiled shaders are stored. This update fixes everything that broke. If you held off on 621.01, you can update the driver now.

Faster compiles

- On NVIDIA 621.01, first compiles are up to 1.9 times as fast. Windows' new shader cache was saving every shader to disk one at a time, and SCSKiller now writes them in one go at the end.

- Compiling a game is fast again, like on 617.42.

Compiles reach the game

- A compile shows Done only once its shaders are in the game's own cache, and never writes there while the game runs.

- If a compile was cut short or the game was running, the rest goes in when the game exits or SCSKiller starts. Until then the game shows Not reached yet.

- Games started through a junction, a mapped drive or a folder with ".exe" in its name get their compile too.

- Xbox games with Advanced Shader Delivery keep the compile. Their page shows an Advanced Shader Delivery tag with its size.

Fewer stutters

- A game that creates the same pipeline again gets it back at once while recording is on, instead of stalling.

Fixes

- No false "Not compatible", and no false "needs rebuilding" after Disk Cleanup or on DirectX 11 games.

- The Cache page's Old driver group no longer deletes files NVIDIA 621.01 still uses.

- Disk space counts all of a game's compiled shaders.

- Compiles no longer make the PC unresponsive.

- Fixes for Borderlands 4, STAR WARS Zero Company, STAR WARS Jedi: Fallen Order and Counter-Strike 2.

- Roblox counts as a game with anti-cheat, and the recorder is taken out of it.

- Older NVIDIA drivers that keep their cache in AppData\LocalLow are found.

SCSKiller updates itself, or download it from scskiller.com.

SCSKiller 1.4.0-alpha.3

Everything in 1.3.2 above, plus everything new since 1.4.0-alpha.2:

New

- Vulkan games from every store, not only Steam, and Vulkan recordings are shared.

- Compile never-compiled games automatically when the PC is idle (opt-in).

- A compile size limit per game, and HDD mode for the drives you choose.

- The PC stays awake while a compile runs.

- Notifications appear as desktop notifications.

- Games whose shaders can't be read, such as 007 First Light, compile from your own recording.

- Max compile in Before and after, which now also works in DLSS and Ubisoft Connect games.

- Leave a folder or drive out of the library scan.

- A warning when the graphics card has no DirectX 12 support.

Games

- Star Wars Outlaws with its DLC, DCS World, Arknights: Endfield, and Borderlands 3 on DirectX 12.

- Wuthering Waves and Marvel Rivals wait for their launchers before compiling.

- HELLDIVERS 2 no longer picks a mod manager as its exe.

- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019) counts as a game with anti-cheat, and the recorder stays out of Zenless Zone Zero and games with Shader Injector.

Fixes

- Compiles keep going past pipelines that crash the graphics driver.

- A game whose folder was moved or deleted says it couldn't read the game's files.

Linux

- Proton-CachyOS, Heroic and Lutris games.

- Mesa on Intel and NVK.

- Steam's own shader download for DirectX games.

- The Vulkan recorder under Proton.

- Flatpak Steam games say why they can't be compiled yet.

Intel and AMD

- Intel: each game's own driver cache, up to 512 MB per game.

- AMD: Split Fiction compiles for its driver profile, and no second compile for a profile key it can't reach.
