Rhaegar Targaryen, the Throne Room, the Red Keep - King’s Landing

"I am not interested in your pathetic excuses, you will be locked up, your collaborators executed, and when my father returns from Harrenhall, you will be tried before him," said Prince Rhaegar solemnly, his face impassive as he saw the pathetic Septon begin to babble and say a great number of stupid things

"My prince, it's not what it seems..." "Alas, those were the worst words the man could have chosen, Rhaegar smelled blood in the water, and would attack the jugular without mercy

"Isn't that what it seems? Was it that what my father's warriors were not enough? How dare you stand in front of me and lie to my face, you fool, a Septon, sworn to celibacy, was being fucked in the ass in broad daylight, do you think we are stupid?” said the prince "furious" while inside applauding Cersei's mastery of manipulation

Rhaegar had no doubt that the lioness would be named the Hand of the King sooner or later

"I was tempted by demons from the Seven Hells my prince, they forced me and..." The words of the despicable man were silenced by a blow to the back of the head, courtesy of Ser Allister Thorne, a young captain, totally loyal to his father

"Silence, disgusting worm," the man snapped, Allister had been the one who found the Septon with a prostitute's cock in his ass

The scandal was monumental, Cersei had been methodical and calculating, for weeks, rumors began about certain practices of the Faith

The use of offerings to pay for the High Septon's lavish life, banquets, whores, imported goods, and gradually, resentment grew more and more

Then the small scandals began, a Septon found drunk, a pregnant Septa who was discreetly disposed of to a remote village, small secrets that, while not really serious, eroded the reputation of the Faith in the city

However, the people of King's Landing began to do something really dangerous to the Faith

Why should they give their hard-won coins to a group of lazy people who didn't really do anything to earn it?

And then, enlightenment came, they didn't have to, and there's nothing the Faith could do about it

Of course, the Faith reacted as expected, condemning those who dared to criticize its divine right, threats from the Seven Hells, which lost more and more power as more and more sins were discovered

There was even a Septon in Duskendale who had all the Septas in his sept as his Personal Harem, Lady Darklyn executed him on the spot, while the septas where disposed to the silent sisters, as the whole town cheered

How the hell did Cersei find out about that? Rhaegar was unaware of it

"King Aerys is inspecting the reconstruction of Harrenhall, you will remain in the black cells until his return, where you will be tried and sentenced by our monarch," Rhaegar said calmly

The man was furious, with his dignity destroyed and his reputation in tatters, so, in an act that was not at all intelligent, he spoke

Sinking the image of the Faith even further, for the pleasure of the prince

"This will not stay like this! The Faith of the Seven will save Westeros! He will purge the dragons and false Gods from this sacred land!”

There it was, Rhaegar thought triumphantly, the first crack in the armor, a public statement against the Crown

And even if it were not enough to march to the Sept and burn it, this confession would allow the mobilization of his father's troops without considerable political repercussions

 Patrols would increase and little by little, they would be able to take control of the neighborhoods near the Sept, which were generally dominated by those most loyal to the order

Apparently, Cersei's plan to expel the Faith from the capital was working quite well

And speaking of Cersei, the iron lioness, as she had begun to be called, entered the throne room with grace and elegance, although her face reflected something that was not common in her

The prince witnessed something he never thought would happen, Tywin Lannister was speechless, reading the scroll that his daughter gave him, while the Septon in question was trembling in absolute terror

"But... How? YOUR GRACE, I'M INNOCENT!!” the pathetic man began to scream and plead, only to be silenced by Ser Allister

"Rhaegar, urgent news," said the young Lady, and the prince knew instantly that it was important, the young lioness always stuck to protocol in public, and although they were good friends and in private, they always called each other by their names, at public events they were always Lady Cersei and Prince Rhaegar

It was evident that Cersei was quite worried

“What's wrong?” asked the prince confused, raising a hand to silence Oswell, who was going to intervene because of the lack of respect

"It's Elia, the labor has begun, Marwin and the northerners are with her, all of them request your presence," she said in a low voice, trying not to attract the attention of the Court

At those words, the prince was paralyzed for an instant, the moment had come, he had talked to Elia for months, planning and taking all possible precautions

"Thank you," said the prince as he stood up and looking at Tywin, he ordered

"Lord Lannister, I have to retire, you are in charge of the rest of the day's pending," Rhaegar ordered, rising from the throne and adjusting his cloak and sword, Oswell and Arthur flanked him like loyal shadows

At these words, Lord Lannister looked at him in surprise, but nodded slowly. At the same time that he asked

“Is everything in order, your grace?” asked the old lion with a frown, looking between Cersei and him with curiosity and calculating eyes

"Elia is giving birth, Cersei and I are going there," said the prince with warning in his voice, a message that the old Lion received loud and clear

 Tywin nodded, bowing respectfully to the prince and proceeded to walk to the throne, at which point the prince took advantage of it to head towards the Court

"My Lords and Ladies, at this very moment, Princess Elia is giving birth to our future prince or princess, I will do my duty as husband and I will be by her side at this significant moment, Lord Lannister will take care of the decisions for the rest of the session" and with those words, and a court excited by the birth of a new prince or princess,  the young dragon and the iron lioness left the throne room, being escorted by a pair of King's guards and a couple of old knights of the Westerland

 "You look nervous," Cersei said calmly, head held high and elegant steps, a Lady didn't run, she had told Rhaegar once, because a Lady is never late

"I am, I think about the problems my mother had and I fear for Elia's well-being," the prince confessed one of his greatest fears

Losing his wife

"Don't worry, Marwin is not Pycelle and the northern wenches know what they are doing, your mother's pregnancy was much more dangerous and the queen overcame it easily," consoled the lioness

"But my mother does not have the physical difficulties of Elia," replied the prince cautiously

"Trust your wife, she is strong, more than you think, and ruthless enough to dominate the Game of Thrones, soon you will have your princess in your hands" Cersei said with compassion

Rhaegar nodded gratefully, while inwardly he couldn't help but think of the ironic situation

He couldn't help but compare the Cersei of a year ago, a spoiled and capricious Lady, with ambition to spare, but without the means or knowledge to carry them out, with the current Iron Lioness, a strong, calculating and ruthless woman, totally loyal to the King of Westeros

The differences were abysmal, even many Lords began to ignore Lord Tywin, preferring to deal with his daughter who was just as competent, but less severe

Something that would sooner or later cause friction with the old Lion, but Rhaegar was sure that his father had already thought about how he would deal with the old Lord Lannister

"By the way, I know it's not the best time, but you should be aware, the Faith will strike back today," Cersei said calmly, making Rhaegar stop in his tracks

“What did you say?” asked the prince

"The Faith, a neighborhood of the city completely refused to pay the offering to the Sept, citing that such an act is useless and that the Gods do not need copper or silver, that it was men's thing, the High Septon is extremely offended and from what I see, he plans to teach the neighborhood a lesson by hiring mercenaries, it won’t be pretty" said the lioness,  causing Rhaegar, Oswell, and Arthur's eyes to widen

"But… We must do something!” said the exalted prince

However, he did not expect Cersei's reaction, who looked at him sternly and spoke

"You will not do such a thing, it is important that this happens for our plans," said the lioness, surprising the prince and the knights

"My lady? The duty of the Crown is to protect the people," said Ser Oswell respectfully, but his voice had a certain reproach

However, the lioness's next words completely paralyzed him

“You will be the sovereign of this continent, King Rhaegar of house Targaryen, and as such, you will have to make difficult and complicated decisions, many times you will not look for good or bad, many times both decisions will be hard and unfair, I have seen your father rule, I have been by his side and in your mother's while they made hard decisions,  even cruel ones, they did not choose between good and bad, but what was best for the kingdom, we both know that the Faith is the greatest enemy of the royal house, we are in an advantageous situation, our enemy makes mistakes and if we play our resources correctly, we will be able to cleanse the city of the infection of the Faith,  now I ask you, will you act like a prince or will you act like a king?" challenged the lioness, silencing Rhaegar and both knights, as she quickened her pace towards the princess's room, her beautiful and seductive figure capturing all the attention of the servants, who paused their activities to watch her pass by

Although the prince's mind was far from the lioness's physical attractiveness, his thoughts recurrently returned to her words

The current situation needed the actions of a king, questionable and cruel actions

Did he have what it took to take them?

Only time would tell

For the time being, his priority was his beloved wife, and his long-awaited prince, politics, plans, and machinations could wait

A new Targaryen prince was on his way, and Rhaegar would welcome him with open arms

Elia Martell, the Red Keep – King’s Landing

"AAAAAHHHHHG" shouted the princess, feeling pain like never before in her life, the northern maidens massaged her back and thighs, and Elia thanked her infinitely, the small moments of relief allowed her to catch her breath

"Almost there princess, I see the head, it's quite big," said Marwin, who was cleaning Elia's womanhood, preparing her for the big moment

And just at that moment

"The prince has come" said one of his brother's guards, as the door opened and Rhaegar ran towards her, his face full of concern, but his very presence was a balm to the princess

"My love," she whispered, quite tired, but with a huge smile

 Her beloved husband smiled, taking one of her delicate hands in his, giving her that much-needed silent support

And then, the contraction returned, and from the first moment, Elia knew that it would be different

The end had come, her princess demanded to leave

"AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHG" Elia shouted, as she squeezed Rhaegar's hand tightly that she didn't know he had, making even her husband wince in pain

"Here comes princess, you can do it, PUSH" Maya supported, as she massaged the princess's shoulders

"Here it comes," cried Marwin

And Elia pushed, pushed like never before as she screamed determinedly, holding on to the love of her life, and then...

Crying, powerful crying that flooded her ears

"A princess is born," said Marwin triumphantly, as he held the princess carefully, at the same time as an army of servants cleaned up her daughter

Elia smiled, but she was totally exhausted, to the point that she did not feel how the northerners pressed on her belly, giving immense relief to the princess

"A princess my love, our precious and magnificent princess," Elia said, as she clung to her husband's arms

"Her grace have strong lungs, the baby is totally healthy," said Marwin, taking the little princess and giving her to her mother, who took her with infinite love

With cinnamon skin and black hair, with a silver lock, her beloved princess was a daughter of Dorne

And she was perfect, Elia thought, looking at her husband with a huge smile

And the princess shed a couple of tears at what she saw

Her beloved husband, totally dumbfounded, looking at the newborn baby, with eyes full of infinite affection, fully dilated pupils and trembling hands

Love at first sight

"Carry her my love, may our princess know her father," said Elia, offering the little girl with infinite care

Rhaegar did not answer, he just raised his hands slowly, taking his daughter's tiny body, cradling her in his arms and chest, the prince was totally dumbfounded

"She's perfect" he whispered, totally lost in the little girl, a stupid smile on his handsome face

"My apprentices ask for a name for the young princess," Marwin said in the usual way, without a hint of tact, breaking the prince's spell

Elia and her husband looked at each other, they had had this argument a hundred times and the time had come

"Rhaenys, Princess Rhaenys Targaryen," Elia said with a huge smile, causing Marwin to nod and prepare to give the order to the apprentices

Until Prince Rhaegar spoke

"Crown Princess Rhaenys Targaryen, second in line to the Iron Throne, future arcontissa of House Targaryen and future Queen of Westeros," the prince professed, silencing everyone on the spot

Rhaegar's words were powerful and dangerous, but...

"Long live Crown Princess Rhaenys Targaryen, future queen of Westeros," Marwin said, kneeling on the spot, an action repeated by all present, including Arthur and Oswell

"May the bells of the palace and the city thunder for seven days, may the streets be filled with food and joy, Westeros celebrates the birth of Princess Rhaenys, so be it," cried the prince

"So be it," they all replied

A new era had arrived in Westeros, and significant changes would begin to take place

And the most important of all, happened at that very moment, in the king's secret office, hidden in the depths of the Fortress

The age of dragons was just beginning
