Ah yes, good ole horse girl racing 👏🏾

ANDROID

Low-key kinda wished they recommended Uma Musume: Pretty Derby since the lore is explained better, but this fine too. But basically, every Uma (horse girl) is based on a real life race horse 🏇 Male or female, they’re automatically a horse girl. They’re supposed to embody the spirits of those IRL horses and the creators really incorporated a lot of their lore and personality into these horse girls. (Plenty of room for head canon, folks) Some of my faves include Gold Ship, Still in Love, Agnes Tachyon, and Narita Taishin.

Danyul

goofy ass concept but the game and pretty much all of the anime are unironically peak

Danyul

I considered it but the original season 1 is a much tougher sell compared to pretty much any other point in the series

ANDROID

That’s true. Cinderella Gray does tell a better story. They’d probably be better off watching the Pretty Derby “pain compilation” video (it’s just slapstick moments lol)

ANDROID

I started playing Uma Musume last week because I heard of a yandere horse girl (Still in Love) that piqued my interest. Little did I know, she’s Japan only. Sad face. Nonetheless I’m really enjoying the cast… and Gold Ship reminding me that my points are replenished.

Genuinely the Uma Musume movies are peak cinema and unbelievably hype. Those alone are worth watching even if you don’t interact with anything else in the franchise. The show is actually pretty solid though. Cinderella Grey is a very strong spin off/prequel, while the original show has a pretty mid season 1 but a FANTASTIC season 2 and 3. It’s just a fun concept all around and, if you think about it, literally just a sports anime. It’s silly, but it plays each race with the intensity a sports anime should Also, because EVERY race is based on the IRL horse races you actually have no guarantee that a girl is going to win her race. The events of the show were decided by a horse race years ago, whether or not they are the MC and hyped up. So the MCs can and frequently will lose.

Mio

I know this is a recommendation but this is peak yall gotta continue this if you can

reanimated

Definitely wouldn’t mind it, was a fun watch

reanimated

I actually love that concept of the MC not always winning

Jared Williams

So they’ve finally decided to watch peak

Rirai

Such a great series, hope y'all continue! Even if Cinderella Gray came out way after, it's a solid standalone that imo you don't have to start from the beginning for Uma Musume.

Mikifune

Please continue this. This is by far the best sports anime contender out there. And this particular show is a great start if ever you decide to get into the Pretty Derby series.

Daisuke_Takahiro

The original series is something that I could never really get into but this branch of of it hits all the right buttons for a banger anime! I really hope you at least continue this one even if you drop the original. You wont be disappointed! 😌

Decayed Lulzul
