The best part of season 1 is that it's got a bunch of Haru Urarara in it, the objective best horse in history with her impeccable 0-113 racing record. Fun fact, she's actually still alive and when the game got an English release recently the real Haru Urarara was absolutely flooded with donated grass to eat because everyone loves her so much. It's hard not to love the permanent underdog. For one race she was actually ridden by Japan's best jockey, had 13,000 spectators at the track, and 121 million yen bet on her, all to finish 10th out of 11 for her 106th consecutive loss. It's hilarious. She did technically win a race, as after retiring she joined a race for retired race horses and won. So her record is technically 1-113 if you count that.

Gold Ship is my favorite. (20:55 horse in the middle) Fun fact: The real horse (male btw) during his career was infamous for being such a GOAT… whenever he felt like it (like Ash’s Charizard). Look up the “12 billion yen incident.” It’s legendary. Peak trollmanship. And he turned out very healthy in retirement, no sign of torn muscle meaning the dude hardly trained. He’s even faster than before he retired and was able to breed so many offspring. What a stud. 🐎
