Excited to watch Professor!

Maybe I’m missing something, but I don’t see any video attached to this post.

Beyond Fantasy

"Private Video. Sorry, You do not have permission to watch." It's okay. It was an honet mistake Professor.

Stefan

Same… :(

Bryan Stephens

It tells me to sign in to vimeo? Cannot do that for some reason on my tablet through the browser or ap. When I do it on the computer, it tells me I don't have permission.

Scott

It's asking me to sign in to Venmo to view the video? Seems there is something going on behind the scenes?

Beyond Fantasy

The video is working for me now. Thanks Profssor for the quick fix! :D

A Name Apart

I can sympathize with indie RPG creators Jealous of Shadow dark. Shadow dark has an amazing community. Amazing style. Great random tables. And captures the osr simplicity perfectly. But there is not much to it mechanically other than being a simpler d&d. It is not doing something different like legend of the five rings or Fate or powered by the apocalypse. But Kelsey and Matt colville and PDM do highlight meritorious other indie developers whether by publishing them or doing a video on their system. I would like to see more of those highlights and collaborations. And like PDM said we should not give in the bullies or highlight non-quality products because of other concerns

Bill Carroll

Review the peasants movie! Thought of you when I saw it

Bryan Stephens

I love Page 121 on YouTube for his Travaller and AD&D work. Lots of room.

John Doe

Glad you are hanging in there and got to see your son! My son is a Marine and every visit is precious. Glad yall could make tbe trip.

Elvis Ramone

It's not a hot flash, it's a POWER SURGE!!!

MrGunn

Dear Professor: Welcome home, thanks for sharing the details from your travels, I am glad you had such a good time. Congratulations on your son's promotion and thank him for his service. I want some of those cheese-burgers, mmmm.... All of those new games look interesting, especially the Polish one, some of those Eastern European folk tales are really dark, great RPG fodder. The Merry Mushmen rock the house, I cannot get enough of their stuff, you put me on to them, a big thank you for that. Controversy, what controversy, fugetta'bout'it! Venger announced his departure from the hobby and knocked Shadowdark on his way out. Venger has been drawn to controversy like flies to fecal matter and has been spewing nonsense about Shadowdark and what ever else struck his fancy for forever. I am sorry he could not make a go of it professionally but as far as his comments go, consider the source, it is just sort of par for the course with him. The Zack Smith news is interesting, he is a very creative guy, it will be interesting to see how his path to redemption works out. Regarding the Korean War, the folks over at The Time Ghost Army are doing a whole history series you can check out it here: https://www.youtube.com/@TheKoreanWarbyIndyNeidell/videos I highly recommend it, great stuff. Great video, thank you. Best Regards, MrGunn PS Let me know what are you running at MythiCon this year so I can sign up?

@Jason McDonald Your avatar picture is wild, it is like watching the hypno-toad. 👀🤣

Great information about what going on in the “scene”. I’m very happy for Runehammer and wish him and his store a ton of success. I think Venger’s stuff is simply not to as many people’s taste right now. I like a lot of his gonzo-sex positive stuff as a creative work. I love his little rule set “Crimson escalation” as a way to make OS combat more exciting. The market seems to not be resonding to this kind of work right now. We have a combination of some puritanical takes and then have a bunch or porn around so people don’t seem to be into straight people smuttiness or cheekiness. I’d never play something that sexually provocative with my group, it would feel icky and we’re not interested. The gonzo stuff is useable and mineable for any game and his imagination really shines through. He waded deep into culture war discourse as well and that may have kept potential customers away. Perhaps he just needs a break to find a fresh approach or to energize his own audience? Perhaps make some stuff on PDFs or for free? Zack is an amazing creative and is works are really cool. His online e discourse is super obnoxious and mean, so I dunno if I want to throw money his way. Like PDM, I have no idea what really went down in his personal life, but the courts are only kinda close to real justice and truth, and not the whole story. But it’s the bestt we have. Happy for your improvised health and your current sympathy with menopausal gals! I feel for my poor wife. Excited to see the stuff you colored in Japan, truly on my bucket list! Are you all ever going. to come out to the West Coat? I’d love to see you all here, where the weather in nice in the winter!

Anthony Johnston

Love the comprehensiveness of this porch talk, PDM. Really feels rewarding as a Patreon subscriber to get videos like this one. Hope your health continues to improve and any side effects lessen. REALLY hoping you can give us the official Deathbringer Kickstarter in 2025 sometime. I think you may be underestimating the amount of interest in your ideas and games.

Michael Placonouris

Nakano broadway is great - I got a watch there when I got a promotion many years ago. Next time you make this this way check out the Tokyo RPG society. Sounds like you had a great visit to both countries and congratulations to your son.

Graham Kane

Glad you enjoyed your travels PDM. Also great to hear you're doing well health wise. Oh and thanks for reminding me about Outgunned, I completely forgot about that game and immediately bought the PDF from DrivethruRPG!

Always fun to watch your front porch lectures professor. I really look forward to these updates. I am glad you’re doing better. I feel you on the healthy eating. I had to completely change my diet last October and it is hard. But as you try different things, you figure out what works for you, and it does get easier. On another note, we’ve been checking the page website because you said you were doing hack with impunity anda couple other events, but they are not listed yet. Will you let us know when they are so we can sign up? We’re still gonna keep checking. Maybe we missed them glad you enjoyed your trip to Japan and South Korea.

Timothy Kesling

Squirrel! Great video PDM. Get well soon!

MelodicMethod

You take as many drink breaks as you like, Professor

baldrage

Very glad to hear things are going well for you on the cancer front!

Jeff Boggs

Who complains about you drinking water?!? Good lord. Hydrate all you want. Talking all the time is thirsty work.

Frederic Schmitt

Please drink as much as you like and need to! ♥☺♥

7DSystem

I got engaged in the Park Hyatt in Tokyo where they filmed lost in translation. Always look for the "Yellow Submarine" stores in Tokyo where they stock the best RPG products from around the world. Have been to Japan multiple times and would live there if the stars aligned.

Megatron

The cheese-burgers are actually Cat Burgers... just saying

Megatron

These "comeback" people are the types that starve for attention, thrive on drama... toxic. Good riddance.
