From the twisted mind of Professor Dungeon Master, the campaign of the holy foreskin. LOL I do not know how you came up with using that idea. Captain Braunschweiger aka Liver Sausage the Once and Future Governator LOL Players are like real soldiers, they don't want to die, so the Rambo cinematic stuff goes right out the window. Got a sniper problem, call in an artillery strike and level the building, problem solved. Thanks for sharing this planning session.

Love the terrain. Dang PCs never follow the plan. #@$!@@!

Brent Norton

Someone is missing Mordheim.

This is what I love, this, Caves of Carnage, Veiled Society etc. As for boring us with your version of the world, that's what got me here in many ways - the enthusiasm and vibrancy of you presenting your vision on things you run, where and how. That is inspiring and engaging above all else in my opinion at least. Great vid.

I would never not watch a PDM video to the end.

MrGunn

What those other guys said! :) Interesting video.

Arnold Brownsveiger.... love the Last Action Hero reference!

Joseph Blondino

Just curious, what is in that clear plastic container on the right?

I've been wanting to do a mass battle scene in 5e without going into an 8hr grid madness. Will be relistening to this when I run it!

Russ (BenGamin Games)

Agreed, thanks Professor! I listened to an older video of yours where you describe mass combat, it changed my perspective forever. This is key and keeps the game lively and the PCs together.

I'm about half way thought---I wish I had the gift for accents. Your Arnold is awesome---another fun one for you to try one day--Father Guido Sarducci. I could see you having fun with that

Andrew

If you grew up hearing it, it might not even sound like an accent to you. I can see that. We have a similar take on mass combat. Back in the days of Battle Systems boxed set, we tried doing our own version of the Battle of Five Armies, and it was just a bog. There are a lot of great dedicated skirmish and miniature-battle war games out there. D&D isn't one of them. From a narrative, it's best when the characters are always at a point of crisis for their own side. The rest of the battle is going to hinge on their success or failure. with the rest, just say what happens. If the characters are successful, broken units may rally. Friendly units to the left and to the right of the party might surge through the rupture in the enemy lines they have just created. Finally seeing the enemy on their heels, the friendly lord commander orders this knights to charge. If the characters are spread out over the battlefield, I do a one or two round hop---shining the spotlight from one set of characters to the next, and just narrating what happens outside the spotlight depending on how well the characters do. IF it goes badly, the characters will always wind up in the rear guard, guarding the retreat--like in the Song of Roland.

Love the Braunshweigger accent! He is certainly no flabby loser. You're right about Bridge: it needs an enticing lure on the other side that can only be reached by crossing it.
