Tax write-off hahah! Anything to keep the man from building more bombs on my dime!

Michael Butcher

You gotta get those sweet, sweet tax write-offs any way you can.

Vance A.

Looks like you used terminal velocity for the rate of speed? Our hapless wizard would have fallen from rest (V=0) so would still be accelerating throughout the fall. Distance= 0.5*gravitational acceleration*time^2. In Freedom Units, that's 0.5*32*6^2 = 577ft. Still a significant distance (nearly 3/4 the Rockefeller height) , and indicates Mr. Wizard needs to pitch it nearly 600 feet before even being able to effect the spell. Ok, off to go rock climbing. Later!

A write-off indeed 😆 well done!

If you make as many simplifying assumptions on your taxes as you do in this video maybe the IRS will end up owing you the money. Great job, although 5E does fix the casting time issue by making the spell a reaction. Have fun, and don’t rely on Water Breathing either.

According to the Free Fall Calculator over at Omnicalculator, it would take the hapless wizard 7.354 seconds to fall the 870 feet from the top of Rockefeller Plaza, assumes zero starting velocity and only the standard 32.17 fps of gravitational acceleration, and all other factors i.e. wind et al having no influence. The wizard would indeed have time to cast Feather Fall, alas said wizard would be traveling at 161.32 MPH and have a scant 1.354 seconds of feather falling remaining in their short remaining life span. Ghastly when I thought about it, 7 Seconds is a really long time to contemplate one's imminent and inexorable mortality. BTW aren't you a public employee, with your attitude towards taxes it is no wonder you have not gotten a raise in 10 years!

For our next lesson in why we don't mix magic with physics we'll do Force calculations on the spell Catapult upcasted to 9th Level, or Power Word Yeet, as we call it here.

Does the way a feather moves effect this rate of falling? it rocks, spins and all the little hairs on it act to give more surface area. This seems like it would have some influence on the rate of falling.

Fascinating piece of fieldwork. That’s dedication to the art
