Keep up the great work PDM!

Alignment is arguably a d&d trope. Everything else is arguably broadly generic enough.

Copyright claim? Ha! Well at least you know you’re getting under their skin.

It's still more of an import from the Elric books by Moorcock. But it really did get more defined and verbose with D&D, especially AD&D with the nine alignment chart. It can be useful, but these days I tend to go without, letting actions define morality.

PDM, thanks for the interesting news regarding the O.R.C. License. Anything that fights against big multi-national corporate hegemony is a win in my book. Independent creators make better stuff anyway be it movies or games. For example, check out the news about "Sound of Freedom" movie beating "Indiana Jones and the Dial of Dumb...I mean Destiney " At Box Office shattering Expectations. Indian Jones had a reported budget of 295 Million and Sound of Freedom had a cost of 14.5 Million to make. Opening day 4 July, Sound of Freedom made $14,242,063 making back almost it's entire budget in one day while Indiana Jones pulled in 11,698,989. Best I can tell from some light research, it seems Hollywood has made very few quality movies that have drawn in masses of people based on the money they make back compared to their operating budgets. I still think WoTC will not do as well as they used to based on the direction they are headed but I could be wrong. Time will tell.

Great announcement. It's certainly an exciting time to be a part of this community.

It’s my understanding that Paizo didn’t register Pathfinder under the ORC. My understanding is that Paizo maintains the same control over their game content that WotC wanted over the OGL. Am I wrong? If so, doesn’t the ORC license simply limit the chances for Indy companies to ever compete financially?

After watching this again and reading the license, it is really, to me anyway. nothing more than a marketing gimmick, and a way to appeal along tribalist lines. I think the vast majority of players/gms do not care. Small press mom and pop shop developers may gain some.clout and access by association with it. It is really Paizo going "look at me!" Marketing.
