Art Talk / Sunday Sketches - 1/2 (Patreon)

So I burned through the last sketchbook and started in a new one a few weeks back. The last span of sketches I posted (the ones from this post and onward) we're back to using paper and pen/pencil.
I think my thought process is different when it's not digital, maybe because it's how I started drawing as a kid? I feel more creative, the ideas feel more real. It's how all my animations started too, sketching ideas on paper. Funny thing is in this new sketchbook, a new realization has begun...

Let it FLOW

Now when I started the new sketchbook I did what I did in the last ones and tried to make almost final ink lines on it. That technique was great for improving my line-work in Procreate but I soon learned it's not how I draw to spawn new ideas. As I searched for more ideas, my line-work was no longer a priority... more on that in the next post!
