We received 225 questions this month from our Patreon supporters.

This month's Q&A is over 2.5 hours long and broken into three parts as a result.

We would have loved to have addressed them all but it was not possible, so if we didn't get to yours we apologize and just ask that you try again next month.

Thank you as always for your support, you guys are the reason that InRangeTV can exist!

Part 1 Questions and Timestamps:

WWSD & Ammunition

Samuel J

With the Army looking for a 7.62x51 caliber service rifle would that effect a change in your wwsd rifle project?

03:30

James K

For WWSD, you seem to be neglecting 62gr improvements such as soft-points (LEO rounds) or Mk.318/SOST. Are you still reevaluating the ammo choice? Keep up the good work!

Pascal P

If AR-15s suddenly disappeared, what would you get instead?

07:21

Kevin H

If you guys WERE going to design a bullpup for use, as Karl said in the WWSD vs Tavor videos, as a SMG with rifle capabilities, what caliber would you chamber it in (expecting ideal resupply no matter the choice) and why?

-ACM and Matches

Would you guys ever consider doing a series or a match focusing on revolvers? I have seen you guys run shotguns and older bolt action rifles in matches before and even do videos on some of these less modern designs but have yet to see something similar in regards to revolvers. Personally I would be very interested in seeing a revolver video in a similar format to the pistol grip only shotgun (comparing revolvers to semi autos or other firearms).

Have you considered incorporating 'malfunctions' into 2 Gun ACM? Have snap-caps loaded into peoples magazines so that they have to cycle their action or potentially transition to their pistol depending on the stage.

I have enjoyed watching the matches you and Ian have competed in while wearing outfits and using gear and weapons of various time periods or conflicts. It gives an interesting insight into the practicality and effectiveness of the various setups/weapons. My question is, have you or Ian considered competing using prohibition/gangster era weapons and gear? With one of you using a law enforcement setup, and the other utilizing what was available to gansters/Mafia of the time period? Thanks

Has anyone ever shot a 2 gun with 22LR.......? And if it can't knock a plate over how would you score that? Not sure why but it was a random thought after watching one of your 2 gun video's.

Where can I find listings of shooting events like Hard as Hell and 2GACM, and how far in advance are dates usually set?

Gun Laws and Education

23:28

Arne K

If possible, can you guys please give us non US viewers a general overview of US gun laws? Sometimes I watch your stuff and thing: “how the …. can they actually do this legally?”

34:32

Matisse E

What has been or would be the most effective way to educate the general civilian population in how to safely handle firearms?

38:59

Marlon S

Why are so many shooters such bad shots? Coming from a full-bore background I'm constantly astonished by the lack of fundamental marksmanship principles many people online show. Poor trigger technique, flinching and no awareness of natural point of aim are all par for the course. Why don't people want to further their skills? And have you thought about some videos focusing purely on the basics of marksmanship?

My question isn't in the first part, fingers crossed.

What are the rules when transiting from free state to free state through controlled state, with "not welcome here guns" surly there is a guarantee of freedom of movement somewhere in your constitution? ( I'm an Australian, even we have transit rules and our constitution has no bill of rights)

InRange TV

Not really. Driving to Nevada through California from Arizona means a brief exposure to their stupid laws while you're passing through their state. An example would be having an AK with a few 30 round magazines with you. Legal in Nevada, legal in Arizona, not legal in California and if you're caught in the process of driving through I don't know what would happen but I avoid that problem by never, ever driving into California for anything, ever.

Ben Clayton

Thanks for the feedback, I suppose it's better for you having stupefying weather than stupefying laws ps I live in Queensland the "best" state for gun ownership...in the worst Victoria you can't even stop to go to the loo if you are between the range and home!....straight there and straight back, no stops.

Dave Statler

@Ben - there is a law governing interstate transportation. See https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/18/926A However, if stopped in an unfriendly state, and they are discovered, you can expect to be harassed (ask me how I know...). The law mentions that you can carry from one place where it's legal to another place where it's legal. BUT if you stop in the unfriendly state, even for something as simple as food/fuel, some states interpret your trip as 3 stops -- beginning, fuel, end. Meaning during your fuel stop you illegally possessed a firearm. Summary - the protection is there, on paper, but it could be expensive to find out the answer for sure.

A lot, by modern standards. That's a whole discussion in and of itself.

Just finished watching the Q&A pt.1 on YouTube and finally decided to take the plunge on Patreon. Thank you for what you do and keep up the good work.

Trey Anderson

Paul, check out the Primary and Secondary modcast on 5.56 vs .308. It's quite entertaining.

Paul Denham

OK thanks. Hopefully you guys will get the opportunity discuss this in a video in the future.

Michael Smith

I didn't want to post this on YouTube for obvious reasons. I have been kicking around the idea of a backup gun for a while now. Hypothetical situation...your wonder 9 or uber 40 plastic fantastic striker fired handgun is no longer viable as a weapon. The reason is not relevant but you are forced to go to the backup because the primary didn't stop the threat. Would you not want to go to something bigger, say a .357 magnum? Anybody else thinking this way? Eight rounds of Dirty Harry sounds pretty good about right now huh?

Sean Smith

Dirty Harry was .44 Magnum. :D If I was to carry a back up gun, I would seriously entertain something like what Karl mentioned.

Michael Smith

sometimes you just got to roll with the humor and not pick it apart. Think of it as kind of a meme. That's why I posted here, thought it would be appreciated. Good thing I didn't misspell a word.

Grant Fisher

Please do make a video on the subject.

Sean Smith

It's all good. Wasn't sure if you knew and there was no malice in my correction.

Maryland is worse than California in several respects...almost all semi-auto centerfire rifles are illegal to buy post 2013.

Massachusetts went and made all "AR-Clones" retroactively illegal, essentially everything that had been legally sold anywhere in the US after the Fed AWB (MA went and copied it word for word into state law in '98). Not to mention that MA has two "approved" handgun lists, one published by the State Police that's publicly available to check, and a secret one by the state AG that no one can check before buying. Glad I moved to NH several years ago, but it means I can't go to a range with friends in MA.
