Due to the incredibly low views on that distribution network, and the increased volume of overhead and administration that is required for additional distribution points, we're going to discontinue the use of Vidme for the time being.

It's plain a lot of work with essentially no return - as in hitting double digit views on any video is a rare occurrence.

We apologize if you're one of those few but we hope you'll continue to watch InRangeTV on YouTube, Full30 or Facebook as we're certainly not changing any of those.

At this time, time wasted on Vidme could be time better leveraged on editing, content creation and more.    I apologize if that was your preferred venue, but no one really seems to use it.

Thank you.

Seems like a solid choice. I'd not even heard of Vidme before reading this.

Good call. Keep Vidme as a bolt-hole when and if its needed, but not until then. Keep up the good work guys!

It's Vidme or nothing for me. The main reason I became a patron is I was impressed by your commitment to your viewers who choose Vidme. Now, with this revelation, I'm not sure I can continue being supporting the channel.....nah just kidding, I'm just talking out my ass here. I don't even know what Vidme is. Welcome back to the States guys.

Aaron McKay

Vid.me is very niche. It's always been a if youtube isn't working type deal.

Good decision Karl you must maximize your use of time as it's the only thing we can not afford to waste.... Can't wait to hear some stories from Finland 🇫🇮.......

I think I speak for everyone here, and I think your viewers would be best served if you switched over to Vine exclusively!

PL

No, you don't speak for everyone here, never heard of vine, or vidme for that matter.

PL

doh! I just googled what vine is....fair one. I don't spend much time infront of a computer....I get protective of inrange though! Grrrr :)

Josh Thunder

Sorry, just a little bit if my humor coming out! ;)

Several channels I watch have spoken of different platforms to switch to; Steemit is the most interesting alternative I've heard mentioned. Granted, I've not looked into all the particulars nor am I able to speak competently about any platform, including youtube, but Steemit did sound like the most profitable for creator and commentor. ; )

Like many others, I had not heard of Vidme before -- looked into it a bit and can't say I blame you. The one alternative I've been curious about is lbry.io, but I think that's too new and requires too much technical knowledge to recommend. I would be curious: what platform do Karl and Ian prefer we use? Even without monetization, it seems that things like subscribe counts and views on different platforms still affect search placement, and subsequent attraction of new viewership.
