Here's a brief snippet from yesterday using our new audio solution for at-match discussions.

This is way improved quality...notice how the gunfire really isn't interrupting us as much?

It's a bit of a PITA, but I'd call this success!

I swear we're really trying here, supporters. I've been putting in a lot of work into finding something that will mitigate some of these field challenges and the results from yesterday appear to indicate I'm on the right track. :)

Mind you that we still have previously recorded content that's still in the queue so this improvement won't be on some of the content still coming, but we're getting there...

Hooray! :)

Demo Audio - Hooray!

This is just a snippet of discussion from yesterday using the new audio solution. It's a pit of a PITA with the setup but it appears to be worth it. :)

Yesss! Finally! Drives me nuts when I can't hear the after match discussions, like after the M1 garand stage 1.

InRange TV

That was a particularly bad example, although the rest of the M1 Garand videos should be quite a bit better honestly. Again, this new method was just tried yesterday so we have quite a bit still in the queue which doesn't have this improvement yet...but hooray! :) ~Karl

I watch on my phone for the most part with ear buds, I could still make out what was being said with the old methods, but this is better. I always figured it was the nature of the beast when filming at an active range, during an event.

Marklar

Sounds good! Don't worry about being studio quality but as long as we can clearly hear the discussion I think that is good enough. Thanks for looking at ways to improve

Christopher

Sounds good on this side. VMS excited to hear about your results and experience.

Claud Addicott

While I liked the audio improvement, I really wanted to hear the rest of that discussion on the variable power scopes...

Robert Arthur

This is much better, Karl. Thanks for working on the quality.

GreenRuin

Out of interest, what was your solution? I am sure there are some audio nerds floating around who would be interested.

Confused Dave

I don't know what editing software you're using, but many have a tool for cutting out sudden, loud volume changes.

Gary A

Much improved Bravo Karl

Alex Pierce

Ya it's a good improvement.

Richard Moore

Sounds better. I always enjoy a little background gun fire.

Matt W

Huge improvement!

thormusique

Yes! This is excellent, Gents! The sound is far better.

Terry

Great work. Enjoyable content even more enjoyable. That's a win.

David K

having dabbled a bit with audio and audio recording and out of curiosity, what are you doing now/trying out?

Mike Murphy

Excellent! Thanks for all the hard work and continual improvement!

H

Damn impressed with the result.

Terry Buchholz

Thank you for trying different things to find a solution. Hopefully we can all hear the difference and I await the vids with this "new" audio.

Brandon

That sounds all-around better, gj! ...and on a totally different topic, what are those pants you are wearing, Karl? I've seen them on you more and more, and now that they appear to have replaced your Crye's at a match I'm seriously curious what they are...

toby person

I thought that worked very well, thanks for doing that

Patrick Eads

I'm curious to know what the solution is.

Shawn Patten

Hate to be that guy...but what scopes are you trying out? I seem to recall an Accupower 1-4 making an appearance.

Joel Vaccaro

That sounded much better. Thanks for all you do.

RS Regulate

Much less coverage with the gunfire. Nice

Scott H

Checked my email while listening to post round commentary on the latest video and I didn't realize how loud the gun shots in the background were.

InRange TV

Trijicon Accupoint 1-4, Vortex Viper PST Gen 2 1-6 & Leupold Mark 6 1-6.

Shawn Patten

Thanks for the response. I'm interested to see the results. I'm going to purchase one of these low power variables soon. Going to try the Accupower 1-4, Steiner 1-4 or the Burris XTR II 1-5.

Alex

sounds great, keep up the good work!

John Gaines

If you can use this new system, I would very much be able to listen to what you are saying. Yes I am the guy that says speak up.

Joe Venzon

Audio related, in a recent match video I noticed there was a ton of wind noise. If you don't already have them, you might want to try buying a fuzzy mic windscreen. They make them for all kinds of microphones, even some video camera built-in microphones, and even lavalier microphones. For example https://www.amazon.com/Movo-WS10n-Microphone-Microphones-Audio-Technica/dp/B00YQBCU5W
