🔞Process: Easter Bunnies (TLT) (Patreon)
Content
As promised, here's also a breakdown of the Bunny Pal piece I drew on Easter (I only have the above sketch saved of Harrow - sorry!).My process is a little different when I do this monochrome art and I go from one segment to another and immediately refine it a bit more. But you can see that below!
CONCEPT
I took the pose from a gay porn image and adapted it somewhat. Initially it was two dudes getting it on. There were some hand and face adjustments and obviously the outfit, which wasn't there in the original. The outfits are based on the Playboy bunnies, but for the explicit art I really wanted a cute bunny butt plug. So it's just the top half of the outfit for these.
SKETCH
Just some refinement of the concept and when I decided I wanted to make two versions (dick + vulva). The concept is just for laying out the general idea, the rough sketch is for actually getting everything aligned and correct (pose, details etc). If I skip this step, the linework will usually be too rough and I will have to deal with too many adjustments (and then I'm getting lost in details).
LINEWORK (plus ears colored in, because I forgot to save an earlier WIP - whoops!)
COLORATION STEPS
Usually I would go the route of doing all base colors first, then shadows etc.. But here it's much nicer for me to go with one segment at a time, and immediately fill in gradient and shadows.
I select the part I wanna work on and combine this with an alpha lock on the then created coloration layer I work on (the selected blue one - the alpha lock is one, giving the layer a checkered background in the tiny layer preview).
I personally think this makes it very efficient to work with. This only really works with monochrome/easy coloration pieces for me though.
Demonstration: in this screenshot I selected only the darker band part of the stockings. Since the whole layer is alpha locked, I can select outside of it and when I go over it, the brush will only draw on the non-transparent part I've selected.
And now some more coloration steps - bodice:
